CTV News Staff: Not Anonymous Enough
Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
CTV: “New modelling suggests that the Arctic Ocean could be almost ice-free in the summertime as early as 2014, Al Gore warned delegates Monday at the climate change conference in Copenhagen.”
Telegraph: – “Mr Gore said new computer modelling suggests there is a 75 per cent chance of the entire polar ice cap melting during the summertime by 2014. However, he faced embarrassment last night after Dr Wieslav Maslowski, the climatologist whose work the prediction was based on, refuted his claims. “

“The journalism trade journal Editor & Publisher is shutting down after 108 years of publication.”

“If fifty-four newspapers had wanted to make a serious statement about the environment that their readers were sure to pay attention to, they might have stopped printing and distributing their energy intensive product for a day.”
“… for a day” ? Think big, girl!
The Tiger Woods Index
[Pages on Google] …ranked by importance to the general public, against media interest….
1. Climategate: 28,400,000 – 2,930 = 9693
2. Afghanistan: 143,000,000 – 154,145 = 928
3. Obama: 202,000,000 – 252,583 = 800
4. Tiger Woods: 22,500,000 – 46,025 = 489
Related – those who have been following the side story of “Googlegate” are aware of the hijinks with their auto-suggest. It doesn’t end there, however – in recent hours they’ve carried out more purges than Stalin.
As you can see above, a couple of days ago there were over 28 million results for “Climategate”, today – just under half of that. In contrast, Bing’s count has been steadily rising, and currently stands at over 51 million.
Google is also infamous for penalizing the page rank of sites critical of leftist issues (this one included – my page rank was whacked back a couple of months ago, despite the fact that both incoming links and traffic were stable.). Watch for the same to happen to prominent blogs in the skeptic sphere.

The embargo* lifts!
I reckon Vince Carlin’s inbox was dripping blood after the pounding it got over the weekend.
(*Clarification – I was referring to the embargo on publishing comments on the Bob McDonald article.)

I can’t say I am spectacularly surprised at the emerging scandal over private e-mails obtained from the servers of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit,…
I’ve said it before – this week in boardrooms across the industry, media executives are meeting with media experts to hash out yet another strategy, and yet more innovations to address their falling fortunes, every last one of them invested in the unshakable belief that the internet is burying them because it’s faster .
As though the only difference between shit and sunshine is the speed at which they travel.
Related – “I’ve heard about the cutbacks at the NYT and I guess it’s gotten so bad that they no longer allow internet access to reporters. So my news tip is that apparently, there’s some kind of development regarding the scientists behind the global warming data, involving emails or something like that…”
Also, highly recommended.

Dear reader,
Our earlier e-mail message about this story said that the secondhand information in question turned out to be wrong. That is not accurate.
Apologies,

Lots of heat in the CJR comments.
Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!
Chicago Tribune reviews “V” – The news media swoons in admiration — one simpering anchorman even shouts at a reporter who asks a tough question: “Why don’t you show some respect?!” The public is likewise smitten, except for a few nut cases who circulate batty rumors on the Internet about the leader’s origins and intentions. The leader, undismayed, offers assurances that are soothing, if also just a tiny bit condescending: “Embracing change is never easy.”
Politico reviews “MSNBC” – While discussing exit polls showing low numbers of younger Democrats heading to the polls in Virginia, Chris Matthews cut off Larry Sabato when talking about the high expectations some might have had for Obama’s first year in office. “They’re wrong and misinformed,” said Matthews. “The netroots people out there that think you can change the Congress overnight legally and civilly are wrong,” Matthews continued. “It takes a strong majority to bring big change. Somebody should have told them that.”

“The Center for the Study of Physical and Intellectual Pollution has just released a study that proves that the much anticipated death of the newspaper industry will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 897,465,000 tons annually.”
The “useful fools” never stopped to consider that the global warming cult might be planning to feed on them last.
