What a bunch of morons at that place. They’ve lost all credibility.
It’s hard to comment about the degree of stupidity by Gore and the complicity of our media ( CTV in this case).
Even fantasy writers would have a hard time creating and sustaining a plot so completely
and utterly devoid of fact.
What the hell has our world come to?
How could any credible news organization possibly quote Gore on things such as this, other than to ridicule him? The man claims to have invented the internet. “Inconvenient Truth” was found by a British Court to have numerous grossly misleading inacuracies. A few weeks ago he stated on TV that the core of the earth is “several million degrees”, when it is in fact about 9,000 degrees. The man is a narcissist and a fool, but above all, he is a bald face liar.
Why do you keep trying to put Al down? Do you realize that truth and facts interfere with his message.

“COP15: U.N. system causing chaos
The United Nations has declined Denmark’s help to quicken the snail’s pace of accreditations to the COP15 Climate Summit.
The chaotic scenes at the entrance to the United Nations Climate Conference at the Bella Center continue today with people waiting hours to get through an apparently undermanned U.N. accreditation system.
The congestion caused by the thousands trying to get into the summit caused Danish police to call for a second day of temporary closure of the Bella Center metro station.
Although Denmark is host for the summit, accreditation is in the hands of the United Nations.
“The bottleneck is in the accreditation system. But there’s not much we can do as you can’t move the system around,” says Danish Foreign Ministry Head of Department Svend Olling who has been involved in logistics for the meeting.
The foreign ministry has offered the United Nations Danish personnel to alleviate the problem, and suggested that accreditation desks stay open longer than 6 p.m., at which time yesterday there were still major queues.
But the U.N. has declined the offer of help.”

Now my arithmetic isn’t as good as it once was, but intensive computer analysis suggests that the summer of 2014 is about 4.5, not 7, years away.
Granted, near the end it says “5 to 7 years away”, but to begin the story with such a jarring inconsistency doesn’t say much for the editing.
CBC Newsworld is reporting the embarrassment. The reporter even went so far to say that she attended a symposium this morning of scienticians who were discussing the rate of ice melt but no-one broached the subject of Al’s alarmism until she finally confronted them. She reported they hadn’t heard of Al’s claim nor would they endorse it.
After climategate it appears North American media has doubled down.
It may work in the very near term, but the climategate stuff is out there, percolating on the net, being digested and disseminated by millions.
Comparing the comments threads on the media reports to the reports themselves is making the reportage look like an absolute farce. Like the media and the readers are living in two seperate worlds,
which in a way, they are.

This morning the Winnipeg Free Press carried the same story as CTV, even posting an alarmist headline on page 1. The article didn’t say anything about the Rev. Al’s blatant misstatement or retraction.
We can laugh at him all we want, but this kind of journalistic malpractice is a significant reason why so many people know absolutely nothing about the issue but believe in AGW nonetheless. I see no sign that the MSM is going to change its ways.

Gore cited a handout from the Danish Government that had a citation of the modeling work that was exactly what Al Gore claimed. So Al Gore is half right in the sense he never read the original research but read a “color supplement” to get his facts.
So the original citation was not Al Gore who was citing a citation in a propaganda pamphlet from the Danish Government. So the incorrect citation if you believe the researcher was cited as the correct citation without verification in a three fold windshield advert.

I’m sitting in my office, overlooking a bay of Lake Superior and, darn it, the lake is making “rotten ice” at a very rapid pace. I imagine that 2,000 miles north of here, they’re sunbathing after a quick dip.
I can offer a few possible dictionary definitions of ‘Scentician’.
Scientician: a person who lacks any training in any scientific discipline, but insists he has great scientific knowledge.

One cannot seriously argue with computer modeling. I have a computer model that demonstrates unequivocally that, had I been flying a P-51 Mustang during WWII, I could have shot down half the Luftwaffe, blown up fifteen German tanks and destroyed Hitler’s secret headquarters — before lunch!
Oh and by the way, lest you “deniers” question my bona fides, I flunked out of divinity school — twice! So there.
I wonder if Fat Al has actually looked at ‘real’ temperature records since 1998 instead of those ‘massaged’ records? If so he might actually notice global temperatures declining instead of rising. But maybe it’s the new science where ice melts faster in colder weather now.
How about we let a computer model run Al Gores life for one week, to prove that this type of modeling is acurate.
It’s worth noting that few people on either side of the climate change debate realize that an open Arctic Ocean is no sure sign of global warming to follow, if the warming is not sustained enough, an open condition in the polar region has in the past been a signal for rapid glaciation.
In fact, the ice free anomaly of 2007 when we saw the ice margin retreat to 84 N was followed by a severe winter in both China and eastern North America in 2007-08 featuring unusually heavy snowfalls. The global temperature trend has reversed since that anomaly came and went.
I just mention this because although I am a skeptic on AGW, I have seen some indications that would support the concept of an ice-free Arctic Ocean perhaps as early as 2023 to 2030, I think 2014 is pushing it given the quiet sun, but I would not bet against an ice-free (summer) arctic basin in some future year this century. What I would bet against is that it would be associated with substantial land ice melting, which is the real problem foreseen by AGW — if we only lose sea ice and get increased arctic snowfall as a result, the net change could be increase of glaciation on land, especially in regions that have seen the most rapid losses since 1950.
The global climate machine is not as simplistic as Al Gore seems to think it is. In the previous inter-glacial era there was a long period of ice free waters in the arctic basin, but those were sustained by higher insolation than we are going to see in our immediate future. However, there have been ice-free anomalies greater than 2007 since the end of the Younger Dryas period, according to whale-bone remains scattered around the arctic, there may have been periods four or five thousand years ago with less extensive sea ice than nowadays. There were indications in that study of at least equally ice-free conditions in the MWP as well.
So this “indicator” is not as catastrophic in long-range predictive terms as the IPCC wants us to believe.

As I posted on the Lord Monckton interview, the Canadian media, save a few notable exceptions, are complicit in the AGW ruse. They consistently editorialize the facts to favour AGW theory in order to steer public policy in directions they believe are noble or just or morally correct. On my trust meter, the media rank below used car salesmen, lawyers and politicians.

Marvelously among them was Associated Press science writer Seth Borenstein who regularly reports on the dire consequences of — wait for it! — global warming.
Ironically, his articles are so filled with inflammatory hyperbole concerning Nobel Laureate Al Gore’s favorite bogeyman that scientists have denounced him.
