The Libranos

Here we go again.

Liberal MP Raj Grewal publicly questioned senior officials in the RCMP and other law-enforcement agencies about the way they investigate money laundering earlier this year, at the same time as the Mounties were probing his multimillion-dollar gambling activities and sought to determine the origin of the funds, records and sources say.

Mr. Grewal announced his retirement last week from the House of Commons, citing unspecified personal and medical issues. The Prime Minister’s Office said the next day that Mr. Grewal was leaving to deal with a gambling problem and significant personal debts. As of Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Grewal was still officially an MP and his exact resignation date remained unknown.

“Vote for Socialism and I’ll Sleep with You”

“In the end, what has traditionally made all cultures great, productive, and advancing will be redirected towards being supplicant, obedient, and merely “voting the right way.” Men, with their unlimited energies, strengths, intelligence, and innovation will no longer use those things to create greatness, excellence, and accomplishment in society in an attempt to woo and impress women. They will instead, as they are trained to do in school, college, and the media, parrot talking points and merely “vote for women.” It will not be their deeds that are rewarded, but their beliefs. And because they will be told having the politically correct opinions, thoughts, and beliefs will get them vagina, they will cease being real men and instead become…well…the limp-wristed, pansified, hipster, leftist millennial “men”they’ve become today. The fact they’re going to vote for, and usher in, communism is almost an inconsequential after-thought when you consider just what a loss it will be to society when men cease being men.”

The Sound Of Settled Science

This phenomenon was reported in 2002, and I’ve mentioned it a couple of times here,  but it seems to have been largely ignored.

Biparental Inheritance of Mitochondrial DNA in Humans

The energy-producing organelle mitochondrion contains its own compact genome, which is separate from the nuclear genome. In nearly all mammals, this mitochondrial genome is inherited exclusively from the mother, and transmission of paternal mitochondria or mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) has not been convincingly demonstrated in humans. In this paper, we have uncovered multiple instances of biparental inheritance of mtDNA spanning three unrelated multiple generation families, a result confirmed by independent sequencing across multiple unrelated laboratories with different methodologies. Surprisingly, this pattern of inheritance appears to be determined in an autosomal dominantlike manner. This paper profoundly alters a widespread belief about mitochondrial inheritance and potentially opens a novel field in mitochondrial medicine.

Bad news for the evolutionary genetics set, so I assume they’ll ignore this too.

Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

Thanksgiving is over, so its time for store owners to hang twinkly lights, my neighbor to put a giant red bow on a bush outside and the first lady to present decorations out of a nightmare.

At least that’s how a bunch of Twitter users are describing Melania Trump’s 2018 holiday furnishings.

With “I found it on Twitter” now added to the handbook of journalistic standards –  now is the time at SDA when we introduce Carly Mallenbaum.

Hey, I found it on Twitter.  More here on this industry disgrace.

“Work on China’s newest aircraft carrier has slowed…”

Intended consequences:

China plans to have four aircraft carrier battle groups in service by 2030, but those plans could change as budgets shrank and some departments were cut as a result of an unprecedented military overhaul, the insider said. Other political and economic factors were weighing on the programme, too.

“A shipbuilder had been scheduled to build another Type 002 carrier, the country’s fourth, in recent days but it was postponed … amid the ongoing trade war with the US,” he said. “Beijing doesn’t want to upset Washington further – the economy has already slowed since the two countries started their trade disputes.”

The naval source said China was also well aware there was still a huge gap between the People’s Liberation Army Navy and its American counterpart, which has 11 aircraft carrier battle groups, eight of which can be ready for combat at any one time.

Slovakia:

Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced after the European Union Summit on Sunday that Slovakia will NOT support the United Nations Global Migration Compact.

“Slovakia will not support this United Nations pact under any circumstances and will not agree with it,” Pellegrini said after the meetings.

The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration is set to be signed in Marrakech in December.

These patents tell us that Google is developing smart-home products that are capable of eavesdropping on us throughout our home in order to learn more about us and better target us with advertising. It goes much further than the current Google Home speaker that’s promoted to answer our questions and provide useful information, and the Google-owned Nest thermostat that measures environmental conditions in our home. What the patents describe are sensors and cameras mounted in every room to follow us and analyze what we’re doing throughout our home.

They describe how the cameras can even recognize the image of a movie star’s image on a resident’s t-shirt, connect it to the person’s browsing history, and send the person an ad for a new movie the star is in.

Related  – The Chinese are making doubly sure public displays of displeasure with their totalitarian regime such as occurred in Tiananmen Square in 1989 will never be repeated.  They are instituting a technological surveillance program so pervasive that when completed — quite soon, it seems — it will enforce conformity throughout their giant country on a scale that would stupefy Orwell and Huxley.
