BC Housing records for March 2026 say that Premier David Eby was briefed for a meeting with Vancouver condo marketer Bob Rennie, the industry leader who hosted a February 2026 fundraiser for Prime Minister Mark Carney — attended by at least 17 leading developers — that has now been cited in Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre’s call for an ethics investigation into the controversial multi-billion-dollar developer bailout that was announced four months after Eby’s planned meeting with Rennie was documented, The Bureau has learned.
The briefing note is logged in Eby’s premier’s office correspondence stream under the heading “Rennie Meeting.” It was opened in February 2026, the month Bob Rennie — the marketer the development industry calls its condo king — held “An Evening with Mark Carney” at his offices. The Elections Canada filing for that fundraiser lists 146 attendees who paid up to $1,775 each, among them at least 17 of the province’s leading developers and condo marketers, along with former BC Premier Christy Clark.
A number of the prominent developers in attendance hold unsold inventory in the Vancouver region’s glut — the same distressed stock Carney and Eby plan to address by purchasing condos with up to several billion in public funds.

Zakia Essanhaji, a professor of “organizational ethnography” at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is the latest to make the case against “white time.” Her recent paper titled “Academic time theft: stealing time, producing racialized inclusion in Dutch academia” builds on prior work condemning time as racist.
Rutgers Women’s and Gender Studies/Africana Studies Professor Brittney Cooper has also written about how time is racist. Mainstream media has positively cooed at the suggestion, including an interview with NPR. Cooper claimed that “white people own time” after framing the concept of time in “histories of European and Western thought.”
There is also apparently black time: “Time has a history, and so do black people. But we treat time as though it is timeless, as though it has always been this way, as though it doesn’t have a political history bound up with the plunder of indigenous lands, the genocide of indigenous people and the stealing of Africans from their homeland.”
Or, you know, the history of the earth’s travel around the sun.

New Rules
Former national security adviser John Bolton pleaded guilty Friday to illegally retaining classified information from his tenure in President Donald Trump’s White House, exposing himself to potential prison time for putting top secret information into private emails and chat messages and sharing them with members of his family.
During a hearing before U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang, Bolton admitted to the allegations in an 18-count indictment brought against him last October, but under a plea deal with prosecutors he entered a guilty plea only to a single felony charge of willfully retaining classified information.
That charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, but under the terms of the deal, Bolton, 77, can withdraw his plea and go to trial if Chuang decides a sentence of more than five years is warranted. Bolton has also agreed to a fine of $2.25 million.
Prosecutor Tanner Kroeger declared that, during 17 months as Trump’s top national security aide in the first term, Bolton “abused his trust” by forwarding more than 1,000 pages of daily notes detailing his activities to his family members in apparent preparation for a book the hawkish foreign policy adviser later published.

Fitting a permanent air con unit without planning permission can also have considerable implications should the homeowner decide to put the property on the market. To finalise the sale, sellers must be able to demonstrate they obtained the required approvals. Without this, homeowners will need to either lodge a retrospective application or remove the alteration entirely.
