WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange plans to plead guilty to a conspiracy charge this week as part of a plea deal with the U.S. Justice Department that will allow him to go free after spending five years in a British prison, according to court documents.

Assange was charged by criminal information — which typically signifies a plea deal — with conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information, the court documents say. A letter from Justice Department official Matthew McKenzie to U.S. District Judge Ramona Manglona of the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands said that Assange would appear in court at 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday (or, 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday) to plead guilty and said that DOJ expects Assange will return to Australia, his country of citizenship, after the proceedings.

Wikileaks: Vault 7 Hacker Charged

A former CIA employee was charged Monday with stealing classified national defense information from the agency that emerged publicly in March 2017, when WikiLeaks began releasing some of the CIA’s hacking tools.

 

Joshua Adam Schulte, of Manhattan, was charged in a 13-count superseding indictment returned by a grand jury. He was expected to be arraigned on the charges on Wednesday.

Funny. He doesn’t sound Russian.

Breitbart reporting on the latest leaks out of Wikileaks.

WikiLeaks’ latest release in their CIA Vault 7 series details a number of advanced hacking tools that fall under the title of “Project Imperial.” The programs “Achilles” and “SeaPea” both target MacOS while the “Aeris” program targets Linux based systems. The WikiLeaks release page states that CIA agents can use Achilles to, “Trojan an OS X disk image (.dmg) installer with one or more desired operator specified executables for a one-time execution.”

“I think there’s some fairness to it, as much as I dislike Donald Trump, he hit a note, several notes, in this campaign that were true, and that was one of them.”
