  1. no wonder the world’s gonna end if the non-believer’s have their say! He has a vested interest in perpetuate the AGW fears, it’s his income source. Who needs big oil when you have eco-suckers to pay your way?

  2. $100,000.00 for 75 minutes is more than the average wage of a Canadian worker for an hourly wage in the neighborhood of ~$15.00 to $28.00/hr.

The Goracle has quite the gig, keeping that money train rolling.
$100K is more than most Canadian take home in a year.
Biased in his presentations you say? NAH!

  3. I wonder what vice-president Cheney thinks of vice-president gore. Does al still believe he is the vice-president,or is this an ego stroke? Maybe fleecing the eco-elites is a vice and al is the president?

  4. Listening to Adler today…hosted by Roy Green( who does the Chorus weekend talkshow)…apparently Green had Lizzy May on the weekend show and had several credible scientists on who denounced the science of man-made global warming and the hysteria of climate change impact…Lizzy was all indignant and Green said that he would make room on his show any time she could get her scientists together to support her position…he left the challenge open…apparently today he said the challenge was still open because no scientist would support the things May was postulating about GW.
There is a large crack in the GW scammer’s arguments that is becoming wide public knowledge…in Britain the GW hyper’s chicken is already cooked….the half empty Gore shows were evidence of that.

  5. Why is Gore called ‘Vice President Gore’? He isn’t. Is Clinton still called ‘President Clinton’? Just wondering.
Notice also that he insists that his assistant receive $1,000 per day for meals, expenses, etc. That’s in addition to Gore’s requirement that he, and one companion, receive first class travel and hotel and all meals, phone calls and etc.
Yes, no wonder Gore is so insistent on AGW; he’s making millions out of it.

  6. And for a powerpoint presentation he has given a jillion times
God bless him, and god bless capitalism. You have to give him credit, think of the people who wouldnt be working if not for him. First class tickets no less, wow….how come there is no mandatory purchase of carbon credits?

  7. when Gore left office his net worth was about $2 million.
He’s worth over $300 million now and gaining about $70 million a year via his book. movie, talks and selling Hot Air Credits.
When ya stampede the herd, the pickings are easy.

  8. It’s like the Brit habit of referring to retired officers by their rank. “The Major” ain’t a Major no more, but he still rates the title.

  9. Actually mojo, its not quite the same. Commissioned officers receive their commission from the Queen (GG in Canada for our military and RCMP). Such a commission is for life, unless it is withdrawn by the grantor or resigned by the grantee. But in the case of retired military and RCMP, they retain their rank and commission, but they are considered to be “inactive”.

  10. Former Presidents retain their title for their lifetimes.
I was not aware, however, that Vice-Presidents could stake the same claim. I’m not saying that it isn’t the protocol, but I do wonder why I never hear the words “Vice President” used to prefix Dan Quayle’s name.

  11. WOW !! What a contract ! Holds all the cards, eh ?? Did any Canadians/Canadian orgs actually fall for this snake ??
    Why no press allowed ??
    Why no questions ?
    No cameras ?
Is Gore hiding something ? like the truth ?
    Naw. Can’t be.
From $2 mil to $300 mil just by pushing AGW !!??
If that is true — they confisgate a drug pusher’s assets, don’t they ? — ill-gotten gains. Drugs can ruin the brain — fearmongering can cause mental anguish.
    Srewart

    Gore ?

  12. Dang! He makes more in three hours than I make in a year — and I’m a government contractor!
As for the title, here in the States we tend to call our elected officials by the title of their highest office when they are out of office.

  13. I recently saw Al Bore on TV being interviewed and his responses, tone of voice, style of speech was so similar to that of Forrest Gump that I am convinced Al Bore is a genuine idiot born into too much money and thus accidentally became vice prez of the big top.
How appropriate ‘Forrest Gore’ or should it be Al Gump. In any case Al Gore comes across like a retard.
He certainly is flogging a retarded message, but there is nothing idiotic about his paycheck unless you are the one paying it.

  14. You know what really ticks me of is that I didn”t think of this global warming scam 100k a pop.
Oh well maybe I can get in on the carbon trading credits game.

  15. “Former Presidents retain their title for their lifetimes.
“I was not aware, however, that Vice-Presidents could stake the same claim. I’m not saying that it isn’t the protocol, but I do wonder why I never hear the words “Vice President” used to prefix Dan Quayle’s name.”
It’s certainly a “custom” in the U.S. for ex-judges to be addresssed as “Judge,” and for former ambassadors, congressmen, senators, and even mayors to be addressed by their titles.
Some sort of replacement for royal titles, perhaps? 😉

  16. “Vice President” Gore? Is thjis a US custom or his lingering resentment?

  17. In pursuit of the trivial…
“Titles may be retained when addressing former high-ranking officials who have left office. An envelope to the nation’s 39th president would be addressed to “The Honorable James Earl Carter,” but salutation styles vary among etiquette guides. While some say the salutation in the enclosed letter should be “Dear President Carter,” other guides discourage retention of titles for former officials, advocating “Dear Mr. Carter” as the proper salutation. In balance, addressing a retired official by his or her former title constitutes an acknowledgment of the individual’s public service record and conveys fitting respect. The choice of whether to use or disregard the title of a retired official is at your discretion.
“When making introductions, “former” is preferable to the prefix “ex-“, which can introduce an unintended negative connotation. The term’s association with divorce (ex-husband, ex-wife) can unwittingly imply that your guest was deposed or left office under unfavorable circumstances.”

  18. I suspect this kind of contract is quite usual in such stratospheric worlds. Imagine the clause in Clinton”s: “And a blow job by a lippy lady in the limousine from and to the airport”.
I particulalry liked the bit about “a hybrid from the airport”. Oh, so sincere. Why not rent your own fat boy?
The sooner he announces his candidature (September?) the sooner we can forget all this crap.

  19. Hey, bear, not even eco-suckers. Remember, it is the Sask government which is covering his costs. And in Europe, Foes of the Earth receive 45% of their financing from the EU and EU state governments. F**k the grass roots and all those teenage useful idealist idiots.
They don’t even bother rousing the masses any more, just pinch the government for some of your tax money.

  20. “They don’t even bother rousing the masses any more, just pinch the government for some of your tax money.”
You deal with the organ grinder, not the monkey.

  21. Seems that those of the former communistic countries can see a socialistic fraud for what it is. More experience, yes, but I thought the ‘west’ was supposed to be smarter.

One permited truth ? as in Pravda ?
Denounced ? As in Dave the-science-is-settled Suzuki ?
Aw come on, Vaclav, Albert Gore is just trying to earn a socialist living the capitalistic way 🙂

  22. What’s next on the menu at Forrest Gore’s mansion?
    Whooping crane for Thanksgiving?
    Burrowing Owl soup?
Will Tipper get a snow leppard fur coat for Christmans?
Momma Earth said I was not a SMART man.

  23. Selling snake oil has always been lucrative. It’s interesting that the sky is falling is such a politically correct and popular form of snake oil. It would only be harmless taxation on stupidity but for the inevitability of governments acting on it, forcing major harm on humanity. AG really is a psychopathic asshole.

  24. Peter: “Sucks when the free market makes people you don’t like rich, doesn’t it?”
Nah, not really. What really sucks in this case are all the brainless twits that are making him rich.
Want to buy a global cooling machine?

  25. AL GORE is nothing but a snake oil salesman trying to sell his phonie medicine WORLD GOVERMENT to the american people this is one sales we dont need a say AL GORE should be sent packing out of town by sundown

  26. It’s the fault of Chilean sea bass for being so tasty … do we have a source in Canada?

  27. Is it just me or do they stick Vice President Gore in the contract just a bit too much. I was unaware that Apple had redesigned their laptops just for Gore.
“Cables to go from the Vice President Gore output on an Apple MacBook Pro”. Macs’ have a Gore output?

  28. The Smoking Gun also has the tour rider for presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani: 3w.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0216071giuliani1.html
Like Gore, he also charges $100,000 per speaking engagement; prefers hotels with fancy soaps; and has final say over press coverage, press conferences, and use of recording devices. Unlike Gore, his private air transport “MUST BE a Gulfstream IV or bigger.” Also, SUVs? Explicitly allowed.
Cheney and Kerry’s room service preferences are also available for scrutiny/mockery.
So, any comments here about Republican excess? Or is the indignation reserved only for the Dems?

  29. Hey – cut poor Al some slack here!
With a monthly power bill twenty times that of the average American, he needs to earn big money.
“So, any comments here about Republican excess? Or is the indignation reserved only for the Dems?”
Sory, “A’dam,” nice try but no cigar. This is not a Rep-Dem partisan issue so don’t try to make it one.
It’s not Al’s speaking engagement contract that’s the problem, it’s the hypocrisy of it.
Giuliani, Cheney and Kerry might indeed have similarly oversized “carbon footprints” but, unlike the Gore-meister, at least they’re not exhorting the rest of us to reduce our own…
As one who likes to travel business class whenever possible (and who wouldn’t?), I resent the idea of being made to feel guilty about it by someone who insists on sitting in the front of the plane himself.
    That’s hypocrisy.

  30. Madonna singing at the goreacle’s concert, while living in her SEVEN mansions, telling me to destroy my lawnmower and trade my speedboat in for a kayak. Like the goreacle, she is a total, hypocritical skank. Reminds me of that other retarded moonbat and her one sheet of toilet paper routine. These phony eco-fraudsters can make all the money they want. Just keep your nose out of my life, a$$holes!

  31. Forget oil tycoons, Gore has started a new Tycoonship pushing AGW. If people have any access to information and a little time to probe for the facts, his Tycoonery may be short lived. He better prepare for the fall, he’ll make a big splat.

  32. JJM: This is not a Rep-Dem partisan issue so don’t try to make it one.
Oh, so I suppose that Mississauga Matt (7:30PM) and Wimpy Canadian (8:56PM) referred to Clintons as the next (and only) examples out of sheer randomness, right?
Had you stopped to think about it for even a second, JJM, it’s pretty obviously that it wasn’t me who tried to make this a partisan issue. In fact, by pointing out that elites on both sides of the fence engage in the same bad behaviours, I was explicitly trying to show that it’s a non-partisan one.
As one who likes to travel business class whenever possible (and who wouldn’t?), I resent the idea of being made to feel guilty about it by someone who insists on sitting in the front of the plane himself.
So would it be better if you were asked nicely to reduce your carbon footprint voluntarily by someone who mostly gets around by bike and only flies when necessary, and even then only via economy class?

  33. Fred wrote that Al Gore had a net worth of 2 million dollars when he left office. I’m not sure what the correct figure is but it has to be a much higher amount. Probably in the tens of millions. His father made huge money in the tobacco business. Big Al was never worth such a paltry amount as $2 million.

  34. A’dam, only flies when necessary, and even then only via economy class?
On an airplane with economy and first class, choosing a seat in either class makes no impact on your carbon usage. If all the business class seats were empty, the net carbon usage by economy passengers would increase. The extra weight and fuel consumption caused by a handfull of first class passengers is miniscule.

  35. $125K > $100K
Why the discrepancy in fees? Do you think the Goreacle is kicking himself for not hitting Lorne up for more?

  36. “So would it be better if you were asked nicely to reduce your carbon footprint voluntarily by someone who mostly gets around by bike and only flies when necessary, and even then only via economy class?”
I have a much better plan.
Anyone with a greater “carbon footprint” than me – Al, Sting, Madonna, Dick Cheney, Bill Gates, whoever – simply agrees to reduce their footprint down to the same level as mine.
Then we can all reduce down to the next lower level together.
I’m not holding my breath over this one though.

  37. Personally I like the title “The Goracle”.
There’s a bit of mystic irelevency that is, well, appropriately duh inspiring.

  38. RL: Nothing to say here. There is no discussion of the science.
    Regards,
    John

  39. “No discussion of the science” why would there be, we’re talking about Al Gore.
Maybe we could take guesses on how much hot air he has to spew to avoid combustion.
