A Leftist Poster Girl on Display

Ashton Schottler is a pretty American woman living in Germany. She epitomizes the term “Limousine Liberal”. Her arrogance & hypocrisy are exemplified by these two recent videos of hers:

In the first, she condemns all conservative news outlets in America and praises Leftist European ones. This is “rich”, given JD Vance’s very correct, recent condemnation of Germany’s path down a totalitarian spiral.

In the second, she smugly tells Americans why voting for the Republicans was not in their own best interest. Think about that for a moment. She is saying that not voting for the incompetent Kamala Harris, and her band of Democrat DEI Trans Lunatics, whose vast corruption schemes are being uncovered almost daily now, was NOT in their best interest.

I’ve been around sanctimonious Leftists like Schottler all of my life. Their righteousness has no upper limits. Their convenient ignorance of facts is astounding.

The Educational Gravy Train is Running Dry

York University is the first, but won’t be the last:

York University is the latest post-secondary institution to report financial challenges in the wake of the federal government recently cracking down on international student visas.

But it’s the first university in the country to announce significant program suspensions, said Alex Usher, president of Higher Education Strategy Associates, a consultant group that’s focused on post-secondary education.

In September, the federal government announced it would slash the number of visas it issues by 10 per cent. The new target for 2025 and 2026 will be 437,000 permits, while in 2024, the target was 485,000 permits.

The Island Laundromat

NY Post;

Since the 2010 earthquake in Haiti killed as many as 300,000 people, the US government has disbursed around $4.4 billion in foreign assistance to the small island nation.

At least $1.5 billion was disbursed for immediate humanitarian aid, while another $3 billion went to recovery, reconstruction and development.

Of the at least $2.13 billion in contracts and grants for Haiti-related work, less than $50 million, or 2% went to Haitian organizations or firms. By comparison, $1.3 billion, or 56%, has gone to firms located in or near the US capitol. Little wonder USAID is so threatened by the sudden scrutiny.[…]

USAID is not alone in the lack of accountability. One of the largest non-profit organizations involved in the Haitian emergency response, the Red Cross, raised an impressive $500 million for Haiti following the earthquake.

Yet, five years later, many, including former Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive, questioned whether most of these funds actually reached the Haitian population.

For instance, the Red Cross claimed they provided housing to over 130,000 people, but the organization only constructed six verifiable homes.

The Red Cross has refused to make available a list of the specific activities they conducted in Haiti, only providing a breakdown of the funds into large and non-descript “sectors” on their website.

Deep Impact

There is no Joy in MSNBCville today.

Joy Reid’s evening news show on MSNBC is being canceled, part of a far-reaching programming overhaul orchestrated by Rebecca Kutler, the network’s new president, two people familiar with the changes said.

The final episode of Ms. Reid’s 7 p.m. show, “The ReidOut,” is planned for sometime this week, according to the people, who were not authorized to speak publicly.

Sure You Will…

Are you willing to pay $5 more for every purchase, $5 more every month, or $5 more every year? As is typical with such surveys, to probe for those critical details would disturb the narrative of pseudo-patriotism. No matter which option you pick, your credit card statement will inevitably say otherwise. Consumers eking out a living in a stagnant economy don’t have the luxury of making such choices.

But the survey found even though some items may cost more, most Canadians are willing to spend more money to keep that buy Canadian with 53 per cent willing to pay $5 more to buy a local product.

Another 33 per cent said they were willing to spend $10 extra.

Thanks For The Mammaries

Yet another sign that the marginal consumer is clearly tapped out and no longer able to spend freely to sustain gimmicky marketing.

Hooters — which has about 300 locations nationwide — has faced increasing financial strain as traffic declines at its kitschy restaurants, leading to the closure of several outposts.

The Atlanta-based company has been working alongside turnaround consultants from Accordion Partners to address its financial difficulties, particularly its debt burden.
