Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors
“You can try and blame it on Twitter.”
You can argue that the Internet has made things move too fast, and that our information economy has been corrupted by a constant landslide of new data that moves too fast for anyone to sort truth from falsehood and forces people back on simplistic frames of understanding, which simply reflect their pre-existing prejudices. All that is true. All that is also largely irrelevant. Nothing in this world justifies the sort of wild reaction that several journalists permitted themselves in public, reactions that went far, far beyond merely re-tweeting and sharing published information, to suggesting a dark and malign conspiracy on the part of an entire nation whose children were in fact murdered by terrorists, and whose civilian population was forced into bomb shelters for weeks.
Oh, Shiny Pony!
Just another stop on the Root Causes Tour;
Justin Trudeau is being accused of “intellectual dishonesty” for his visiting a Montreal-area mosque that American government sources say has been an Al-Qaeda recruitment centre.
The Al Sunnah Al-Nabawiah mosque sits in Trudeau’s Quebec riding.
The Liberal leader reluctantly acknowledged last weekend he’d attended the Al-Sunnah Al-Nabawiah mosque, which follows the strict Wahhabist interpretation of Islam (codified and practiced in Saudi Arabia) then cast doubt on the veracity of the American government’s designation.

Report: US Army Major General Killed By Afghan Soldier
United States Army major general was killed on Tuesday by an Afghan soldier, shot at close range at a military training academy on the outskirts of Kabul, an official of the American-led coalition and Afghan media reported Tuesday. The officer was the highest-ranking member of the American military to die in hostilities in the Afghanistan war.
The coalition official, who spoke on condition of anonymity and would not release the name of the major general, said an unspecified number of other service members of the American-led coalition and Afghan soldiers, including a senior Afghan commander were also shot. Their conditions were not known.

DON’T EAT THE CANNED FOOD!!!!!!
02.08.2014 – We had a foretaste of being encumbered by ice a few days ago when we attempted to reach Arctic Bay, an Inuit settlement about 100 miles south of here. Soon after we had entered Admiralty Inlet that leads to Arctic Bay, we were quickly surrounded by ice. We gave up and turned around, but progress was occasionally impossible and it took us several hours to reach open water.

Green Helmet Civilians
Analyses of the casualties listed in the daily reports published by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, a Gaza-based organization operating under Hamas rule, indicate that young males ages 17 to 30 make up a large portion of the fatalities, and a particularly noticeable spike occurs between males ages 21 to 27, a pattern consistent with the age distribution typically found among combatants and military conscripts. Palestinian sources attempt to conceal this discrepancy with their public message by labeling most of these young men as civilians.

The Incestuous Relationship of the Greenies & Their Money Men
A damning report (PDF) has been published by the U.S. Senate, which carefully describes how a handful of billionaires & millionaires control funding to assorted environmental groups. They, in turn, then make donations to America’s two major political parties. Guess which one they fund the most by far?

One scheme, led by the New York-based Park Foundation and California-based Schmidt Family Foundation, provides numerous grants to the New York-based SMF, which serves as the fiscal sponsor for multiple New York groups engaged in this effort, including Water Defense, Frack Action and Artists Against Fracking. During 2011, SMF gave $147,750 to Water Defense. The following year, SMF funneled a $150,000 grant “to support Water Defense” from Schmidt. Notably, Water Defense was founded in 2010 by actor Mark Ruffalo, who has an estimated net worth of $20 million and was listed on Time Magazines’ 2011 “People Who Mattered” for his anti-fracking efforts. In 2011, SMF gave Frack Action $324,198, with $150,000 stemming from Schmidt grants to SMF. Ironically, one of the Schmidt grants specified that $100,000 go “to support Frack Action’s grassroots campaign fighting for a ban on horizontal hydraulic fracturing”.
