Mark Steyn: The Barbarians Are Inside, And There Are No Gates

As I write, Paris is under curfew for the first time since the German occupation, and the death toll from the multiple attacks stands at 158, the vast majority of them slaughtered during a concert at the Bataclan theatre, a delightful bit of 19th century Chinoiserie on the boulevard Voltaire. The last time I was there, if memory serves, was to see Julie Pietri. I’m so bloody sick of these savages shooting and bombing and killing and blowing up everything I like – whether it’s the town where my little girl’s favorite fondue restaurant is or my favorite hotel in Amman or the brave freespeecher who hosted me in Copenhagen …or a music hall where I liked to go to hear a little jazz and pop and get away from the cares of the world for a couple of hours. But look at the photographs from Paris: there’s nowhere to get away from it; the barbarians who yell “Allahu Akbar!” are there waiting for you …when you go to a soccer match, you go to a concert, you go for a drink on a Friday night. They’re there on the train… at the magazine office… in the Kosher supermarket… at the museum in Brussels… outside the barracks in Woolwich…

An Ottawa Police Officer receives Enforcement Award for “jumping into action” on the day Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was murdered.
Did he rush to the fallen soldier’s aid? Nope.
Did he shoot the terrorist? Nope.
Did he lead civilians to safety? Nope.
Well, what did he do?
He visited Ottawa mosques on that fateful day and he received the award because….“I was with them and I could sense the fear and the vulnerability of being marginalized and alienated”.

I know Mark Steyn has been variously covered about the same thing, Douglas Murray in another piece from Gatestone, pointing out much some of the same.
And it is just the same few brave souls, how it has changed, in our short lives, going from the noble tent dweller, via some obscure threat that must surely be a laugh at about Salmon Rushdie, to death on the streets of Europe. It is now the most pervasive part of everyone on the planets life. From Cassius Clay and Cat Stevens to world domination in a generation, and by domination isn’t that where we now are, it shapes every aspect of life, from freedom of speech and segregated bathing to sharia compliant laws, never mind as a child the spectacle of meeting an Indian or African, is there a street in any town in the world today without a muslim. There are conversely now huge swathes of the earth where there is but one ideology, the exponential curve on this must near equate to the fall of any previous civilisation.

The number of Muslims in Whitemoor prison in Cambridgeshire is thought to be double what it was in 2008, and the highest proportion in any UK prison. Even then, prison staff were warning about radicalisation. It now appears the situation is deteriorating at a rapid pace.
“About half the prisoners on Whitemoor’s main wings are Muslim, profoundly affecting the social nature of the jail and disrupting established hierarchies,” the report from the Independent Monitoring Board – which makes judgements on prisoner welfare – reads.
It concluded: “Against this background we note that some prisoners and staff found the Muslim presence overwhelming. The social and religious fragmentation within Whitemoor potentially posed risks for discipline and hence safety.”
