We start off this new month with Guantanamera, as sung by Celia Cruz. For those curious, here are the lyrics translated into English.
Bonus: There’s a secret place in America where a lot of Canadians visit! If you’re a member of the Elbows Up crowd and upset about this, please know that I think that the people in Maine are generally weird, so you would fit in well!
Your best tips to start off October are much appreciated!

Saw this over at Ace of Spades HQ, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it: ( https://acecomments.mu.nu/?post=421584 )

This is when we juxtapose entry:
Mohammed Abdalla – Illegal migrant tried to burn down a hotel with 170 people inside
Lucy Connolly – Tweeted “Burn down the hotels for all I care”
They both got the same amount of time in prison – 2 years and 7 months.

Hotair covered it…few others did: https://hotair.com/david-strom/2026/09/29/uk-justice-immigrant-who-set-asylum-hotel-on-fire-gets-same-sentence-as-lucy-connolly-n3819432
L – British Common-Law is now more honoured in the breech than the observance. It may require as much blood, sweat and tears to reestablish it, as it took to build it in the first place. The blindfolded woman holding the scales of Justice in one hand and a sword in the other. Has gone missing, it will be a sacred quest Britons and Canadians that she put the fear of God into the corrupt and tyrannical that masquerades as Justice, today.
Lol… I agree with the X/Twitter gal and her statement, I think there’s going to be some of that when the PM of Brookfield brings elevated levels of immigration back to Canada.
although…
Tennessean Christa Pike was set for execution this AM, the first two lethal injections failed “to take” and she’s now been taken to hospital and being given “life saving measures” …
They seem to be out of practice for this, I think she’d requested a firing squad and I don’t know why that was denied.
Not that this is my entry into the idiocy contest but, it’s my entry.
Re immigration. I was just in a “Service Ontario” office with my daughter. We gifted her one of our cars and I needed to sign forms in front of a witness that it was a gift so we could avoid the otherwise mandatory sales tax. There was one other non immigrant elderly white woman getting her photo renewed. The rest of of the waiting room was filled with engineers and doctors from India, applying for their Ontario Health Cards so we can give them their free health care that they don’t pay taxes toward. One guy was trying to get his car ownership done, and I overheard the employee tell him that he’d been driving without insurance since May, she could could not process his ownership, and if he ever got pulled over he’d be charged. I’m guessing it’s pretty common for these doctors and engineers to skip insurance, good luck if one of them hits you.
Botched MAID activity in prisons … but it is NEVER botched by the Canadian government. Yeah, you can draw only ONE conclusion from that.
the backward upside downness of it all; an earmark of The End Times.
tell me lm wrong. police states popping up all over the place.
celebrations when Trump is almost assassinated
(l dont remember a peep of jubilation when JFK’s cranium got blown open)
trillions in debt that, face it, aint NEVER getting paid can only lead to one thing: hyperinflation
If you’re paying attention to Canada’s next “club”, the European Union is having a little problem with France and their economy. EU economies are supposed to limit deficits to 3% and France is struggling with budget cuts to get theirs down to 5.4%, maybe 5% next year, but nowhere near 3%. France is attempting the Trudeau freeze, by freezing government programs at current spending levels and hoping to “grow the economy”. Remember that phrase about the deficit looking after itself? Problem is France isn’t freezing all spending, just where they think they can and stay in power. Again, the same play book. Stay in power, fix the economy later.
The German economy, meanwhile, is stagnant, expected to grow at 1-1.5% next year, well below the rate of inflation. The two strongest economies in Europe, Germany and France are into the toilet. Over heads Canada, looking for investment.
France is planning a crab fishery off the coast of Newfoundland.
https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/business/2026/09/30/canada-urges-france-to-back-off-plan-for-snow-crab-fishery-off-coast-of-newfoundland/
“Joanne Thompson said France made no mention of its plan to Canadian officials, despite Prime Minister Mark Carney visiting French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this month in St-Pierre-Miquelon, a small archipelago about 25 kilometres from Newfoundland’s Burin Peninsula.”
“The apparent snub comes as Canada cozies up to the European Union amid an ongoing trade dispute with the United States.”
Welcome to the EU.
The UK waters ended up being fished by France and post EU they still are. If Canada joins the EU in some fashion I’m guessing France will take over Canadian fisheries.

Two elders dead, two others injured in First Nation mall parking lot. Carney and Eby give year condolences.

The Hub, a politically-centrist publication that occasionally puts out good stuff, gets plunked by a phony. Intriguing though.

SDA has a large readership.
If any reader has piloted 737 can he/she comment on the probability of having 2 extra pilots on board experienced enough to fly 737. Is this SOP?
I think it’s pretty common for flight crews, including pilots, to hitch a ride when they aren’t scheduled on a working flight at their last destination.
Not a pilot. I travel frequently within the USA and often see aircrew in the cabin, probably in transit to another aircraft. I would say not SOP but not uncommon. The big takeaway to me (other than the passenger who fought his way into the cabin and pulled back on the yoke – hero #2) was the pilot, who after being stabbed in the back, fought off the hijacker and managed to unlock the cockpit door – hero #1.
Heck, man,
I was on an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Ottawa 2-3 weeks ago, and 9 Air Canda pilots were traveling as passengers. Half of business class was occupied by deadheading pilots.
Thanks for the link about the beach in Maine. We now drive through Maine to visit our daughter who (sadly) lives in NB because she married a Canadian. We could never figure out all the Mass plates and now it makes total sense. We had never heard of that beach. The quebec folks used to love the Jersey shore too – not sure if they still do.Robert, that has been my experience also with Mainers.
Been going to Ogunquit for a week each summer for about 20 years now.
It used to be extremely quiet, then some travel website wrote about it and it has been more crowded since, but still not as bad as most places.
The overall crowd is about 1/3 gays, 1/3 Canadians and, and 1/3 normal people. The beach is long enough that you can be away from the pride crowd that stays in the section near town, but you can’t avoid the loud Canadians who smoke on the beach if it is near high tide and the beach area is constricted.

The Globe this mornijg reprints an AP article claiming that authorities are still “searching for a motive” and “exploring all options”, ta da, ta da, with regard to the foiled skyjacking. We take from this that he attempted killing of 140 innocent Jews could come from any motive. Perhaps the perp is a Trump operative. Got it.
I believe Tucker Carlson radicalized the pilot …

The Globe is horrified that CBC Gem (coal?) Is buying a whole bunch of American-made show for the fall. The Ceeb is not following the Carney/Globe and Mail Elbows Up mantra. Some of us are upset that there is a CBC Gem (coal?) around to spend taxpayer money.
Peter Navarro threatens Canada!

And then we get this 24 hours later:

Oh, and I’m not betting on the prosecution retrying the Clancy case. They might, given the profile of it all, but I think some KYA is happening.
Navarro never sugar coats anything … and for that reason alone … I am an admirer.
He certainly didn’t make a nuanced statement.
And I meant “CYA” — pardon my faux pas; must be my illiteracy stemming from low IQ (but I still think they won’t).
Oh! I thought you were saying … Kill You All? Like she did to her kids
I thought she was saying Kick Your Ass.
(then I tried to make sense of that, but couldn’t…:)
Dear 15 girls; Do you wanna become a multi-millionaire? By relaxing on a bed?
http://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2026/10/01/girl-wins-164-million-lawsuit-from-hotel-in-sex-trafficking-case/
Meh. Forget the money your pimp lets you keep. Sue the Super 8 Motel! In Civil Court. Don’t sue your pimp, criminally. Don’t sue your Johns for statutorily raping an underage girl. Screw that. (sorry). Sue the deep pockets, in Civil Court.
This is the template set by “The Epstein Victims”. Sue everyone involved … even passive “traffickers” who did nothing but operate a motel … where privacy is respected. Ignore the criminal cases … because you don’t get PAID for that hassle … no … sue the deep pocket “traffickers”. $Cha-ching!$ BIG Payday!
We have a word for women who get $PAID$ to have sex … it’s the oldest profession in the world.
