  1. If a Canadian owes $100 to the CRA they’re going to hear about it every quarter, and if they’re collecting E.I. or gov’t benefits of another sort it’s likely to be taken from that without delay.

I doubt buying a #Libranos Party membership would help, at least not until Canada brings in their version of China’s social credit system.

  2. 34 million buys much loyalty. Wisely spent on people of influence, it has a multiplier effect. On the other hand, it does wear off, and does stimulate price inflation when the next election rolls around.

How about you, O angry acid white far right capitalist pig dog? How much? Does not have to be laundered cash. How about access to slave wage labor? Selective enforcement of regulations for a business rival? A high paying, high pension, low effort job? Get your wastrel spawn out of the pokey?

    Just asking.

  3. “We all know there is Fraud and Theft of taxpayer funds … but the amount is too small to warrant the investigation and recovery of those funds”

Among the other LIES perpetrated on the taxpayers

    1. EXACTLY kj.
it may be patently true *with individual cases* small or no ‘payback’. BUT the fact action is taken, is there NO deterrent effect when the wannabes see the huge legal costs if their number comes up?
in the broader long term scheme it most certainly DOES warrant pursuit of individual cases.
      unless Liberals being Liberals.

  4. The current significant other of finance minister Francois Champagne, is a vice president at Alto (the Liberals’ high speed rail corporation).

  5. Have certain Poilievre mentioned it in the parliament?
    If not, why not?
If yes what’s the story? Are the opposition impotent to do something, anything?
Every scumbag that got the money should be publicly shamed and made to return the money to the taxpayer.
    No discussion, period

    1. Somewhat surprisingly, Poilievre is taking the only road that’s open to him. He has no executive power, so instead, he forced the issue in the House of Commons:

(((By completely paralyzing the House of Commons, Poilievre forced the transfer of unredacted files, emails, and financials directly to the RCMP. The Conservatives argue that if the RCMP uncovers criminal wrongdoing or fraud, the courts can mandate asset forfeiture to claw back taxpayer dollars.))))

I can’t fault Poilievre on this one. I CAN fault the absolute stupidity, however, of how the Canadian government is set up. It’s nothing short of applying “the honor system” with politicians. You get a majority and can do whatever the hell you please while everyone else is on the side lines with “no standing” to challenge in the courts. The closest you get to accountability is a Supreme Court case involving “sex workers”, and that’s narrowly focused.

      1. One small correction: They did this with a minority government. Committees were still ostensibly allowed to meet at the time.

        1. It isn’t a de facto minority if the “opposition parties” prop it up unwilling to vote no confidence because they have a vested interest in extending the regime’s rule.
The media were in the tank(still are), so no sounding the alarm, and who watches Parliamentary Question Period except a handful of losers anyway?
          VOTE Question 10 option 2

  6. This is astounding. So far, over 190 conflicts of interest have been documented. Board members were essentially voting to direct public money to companies or organizations they were personally tied to. And, there is no recourse because under the Canadian law, and despite these blatant applications of crony capitalism, the recipients are still considered to have received the funds in good faith.

Further, a citizen of Canada you would think would have standing to initiated a class action suit requiring the Federal government to make every effort to recover these misappropriated funds. But, the Canadian taxpayer holds “no standing” in that the moment the mandated taxes enter the Consolidated Revenue Fund. They are no longer the owner. So, no standing.

That’s quite the criminal enterprise the Crown has set up. Purposeful misappropriation for individual benefit followed by labeling those improper recients as acting on good faith. And, even after they refuse to return the improper funds, they still hold the designation of acting in good faith.

  7. This ties in so beautifully with that government add, advocating for Can Ahh Duh and claiming that”Rule of Law” is one of our guiding national principles…
    Government is always a lie.
Proving to be the opposite of what they claim.
I guess Can Ahh Duh claiming that “Rule of Law” exists here,is just like the People Democratic Party of every shitholia, pretending that democracy is their guiding light.
Actually maybe they are right, every socialist shithole uses democracy as their guide and focus on depriving the citizen of any such say.
