Down The Primrose Path

Internal polls are ringing alarm bells for Democrats and the memos have gone out.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s dismissal of senior officials is casting an inconvenient light on an issue that the Biden administration has largely ignored since the outbreak of war with Russia: Ukraine’s history of rampant corruption and shaky governance.

As it presses ahead with providing tens of billions of dollars in military, economic and direct financial support aid to Ukraine and encourages its allies to do the same, the Biden administration is now once again grappling with longstanding worries about Ukraine’s suitability as a recipient of massive infusions of American aid.

Wait for it…

Those issues, which date back decades and were not an insignificant part of former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment…

Enthusiasm for Ukraine among Democrats and their allied media had little to do with democracy and freedom for Ukraine. In the background, the political calculus was always about Trump.

They’d put years of hard work into creating a political narrative tying Trump to Russia, and they weren’t going to let that crisis go to waste. They saw Ukraine as a conveniently distant battlefield upon which to seal the political fate of the evil dictator, Donald J. Putin.

What they didn’t predict was that the conflict would drag on beyond the patience of the American mid-term voter already angry at skyrocketing inflation and a looming recession. Now they need an exit ramp and their friends in media are setting it up.

From the comments – I remember South Vietnam. The Democrats reversed course after LBJ dragged us into that war. Suddenly when Nixon actually negotiated a peace treaty and US Withdrawal, all the stories from 1972 on were how Sough Vietnam was a corrupt sh**hole and we should stop all military aid and abandon them. We did, and South Vietnam fell in 1975.

Come Back, Pizzagate!

All is forgiven:

Prior to his arrest in September 2020, Harris was one of several celebrity influencers the Biden campaign embraced in an effort to “win back the internet.” In June 2020, Biden appeared with Harris on Instagram Live to discuss “some really important issues facing our country right now, in particular young adults and the black community.” The video, which received more than 300,000 views on the social media platform, was deleted shortly after federal agents raided the influencer’s Illinois home in September.

Ludwigshafen is most relevant to today’s discourse…

…because it is home to the largest integrated chemical complex in the world. Mere blocks away from the Casino lies the fence line delineating this staggering display of technical complexity and raw industrial might. With approximately 2,000 buildings and 200 production plants, BASF’s Ludwigshafen site is home to roughly a third of the company’s total global production. All told, nearly 20 billion pounds of stuff is made there every year, and that stuff serves as the starting material for countless global supply chains.

Last week, the Wall Street Journal published an important story about how sanctions on Russia – however justified the motivation to impose them might be – are beginning to backfire in ways Western leaders seem to have been unable to calculate in advance…

The Most Interesting Man In The World

NY Post;

Hunter Biden’s hard drive contained an enviable lineup of contacts for top US officials tasked with overseeing the US-China relationship, and at least 10 senior Google executives — raising new questions about the extent to which Joe Biden’s well-connected son could have leveraged his connections for personal profit, The Post has learned.

Many of the top-level government officials would have been in position to help Hunter Biden’s business aspirations in China during father’s term as vice president from 2008 to 2016. Throughout that period, he infamously looked to capitalize from his family name and connections — often while his father conducted sensitive state business.

As for the Google braintrust, one former exec there told The Post that Hunter Biden sought the tech giant’s cash for Chinese ventures, and that several of the company’s bigwigs wound up working for the Obama-Biden administration during his father’s vice presidency.

The Hill- 71 percent don’t want Biden to run for reelection: poll

Seven in 10 Americans say they do not want President Biden to run for a second term, according to a new poll that comes as Biden’s approval numbers remain low and his party braces for losses this November.

A Harvard CAPS–Harris Poll survey shared exclusively with The Hill found that 71 percent of respondents polled do not think Biden should run for a second term, compared to 29 percent who say he should run.

That’s still too low. What the heck is wrong with the 29%?

In Ashley Biden’s writings, she claims that the president took showers with her when she was young, fueling her sex-addiction.

Carlson described the disturbing details as “sick” and “horrifying,” saying “if that’s not child molestation, it is definitely close enough to justify a police visit.”

Inside a January 2019 diary entry, she wrote “I remember having sex with friends @ a young age; showers w/ my dad.”

Carlson then asked the audience, “if you are the father of daughters, ask yourself, is there any explanation for that behavior that is justifiable?”
