Sunny Ways
All the villages in all the world are looking for their idiots.
Robert Lighthizer, the U.S. Trade Representative, is known to be angry at Canada for failing to present creative proposals, not backing him on pushing for higher wages in Mexico and broadly challenging the States at the World Trade Organization, the Johns Hopkins professor said.
This from the fools that started NAFTA talks with a social justice warrior plank. The mind boggles. How does one advocate for workers rights, biological equality in the US and take a hard pass on “a living wage” in Mexico?
Former Liberal
Martha Hall Findlay on the supply managed dairy sector.
On the other hand, the dairy lobby is one of Canada’s richest and most powerful. It spends more than $100 million every year on lobbying and marketing — aimed at politicians, the public, trade negotiators, and, most frustratingly, farmers. The myths they tell have their own farmers scared, the public inured to exorbitant dairy prices, and politicians completely cowed.
Well…of course, and Harper is correct again.
Trudeau starts a trade war for political points. We’re the casualties
Solomon writes a lot of self-evident truths here that will make a lot of people in Canada clench teeth and turn red…not the least the CNN and NYT copy-readers working in Canadian media.
Canadians who think Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is standing up for Canadians against U.S. President Donald Trump over dairy tariffs have it wrong. Trudeau is standing up for Quebec against the Rest of Canada. It is Trump who is standing up for Canadians.
Heh
I voted for Max.
And not the Dairy Cartel. Read the whole thread.
Chimo: Thank you. Yes I am a politician but I am trying to do politics differently. Don’t believe in vote-buying politics that led to today’s big government. The Duck Boat update
CFL Picks Week 6
Apologies for missing last week, I went 2/3…which is better than normal so caveat emptor.
Thursday, 17:30 CST – Riders at TiCats. Riders haven’t played well and apparently aren’t practicing well either. Hamilton on the other hand is a team on the rise with a QB trying to set the record for consecutive games with 300yds passing. Pick TiCats by 10…and yes the record will be broken.
Friday, 17:30 CST – BC at Ottawa. Travis Lulay single-handily changed the Lions season last week, on the other side of the field, I’ve never been sold on Harris and his receivers are dropping balls left, right, short and deep. Pick BC by 5.
Saturday, 14:00 CST – Winnipeg at Toronto. Matt Nichols looks pretty good,
Saturday, 19:00 CST – Montreal at Calgary. Will Bo Levi Mitchell start? I’m not sure that it matters. Until they lose 2 in a row or it’s late October/November just pick Calgary by 15, it’s easier that way.
About time.
CFL Picks Week 4.
Thursday, 19:00 CST: Hamilton at Saskatchewan. Well. The Riders are hardly playing up to the expectations everyone had…again. Hamilton is kicking ass and taking names. Masoli has the opportunity to tie the CFL record for consecutive 300yd passing games, he may. Hamilton by 7.
Friday, 17:30 CST: Ottawa at Montreal. This to me feels like a trap game for Ottawa. If Montreal can improve on their offence from last week they can win. Montreal by 3.
Saturday, 15:30 CST: Edmonton at Toronto. Interesting game. Franklin will be starting and we haven’t seen him but everyone who has worked with him says he’s good. We’ll see. Edmonton by 10 and the Argos slide continues.
Saturday, 18:30 CST: BC at Winnipeg. BC needs to do something to get back on track and beating Winnipeg is exactly what they need, but Winnipeg is playing very strong behind their backupand word is Nichols will play. Can BC do it? Yes, but they have to play much better than they have. Bombers by 5.
Electronic Nicotine saves lives.
“The government will work with the public, experts, and businesses to re-examine the evidence related to vaping as a smoking cessation tool to ensure that any changes are in the best interests of everyone and protect Ontarians’ health and safety,” he said in a statement.
The NGO’s, tobacco companies and pharmaceuticals can piss-off with their fear mongering about vaping and nicotine in and of itself. The last thing they want is to actually look at data. That it’s as bad for you as sitting on a patio on the street is not something they want thought about. That using nicotine, without the combustion, is as deadly as coffee is not the narrative they want out in the general public.
CFL Picks, Week 3
An attempt to continue my no good, horrible record of picking winners and losers.
Ottawa at Calgary, tonight 19:00 CST. Calgary by 10.
Winnipeg at Hamilton, Friday 17:00 CST. Hamilton by 5.
BC at Edmonton, Friday 20:00 CST. Edmonton by 10.
Montreal at Saskatchewan, Sask by 3.
Another reason to hate them.
Red meat allergies caused by tick bites. Not in Canada though.
Props to Small and Medium Business.
They are the only group so far to stand up to Liberals and win. After getting the gov’t off their neck last year now they’re trying to get the gov’t off their back too.
Obvious Bait is obvious
There are much bigger hills to die on, Conservatives. For all intent and purpose, those found guilty of weed possession are pardoned anyway.
Now, the hard part.
House Commons Speaker John Bercow announced that the European Union Withdrawal Bill received royal assent and passed into law. The announcement was cheered by pro-Brexit officials.
Now, the implementation.
It’s a Park
It isn’t a highway. It isn’t a railroad.
Let them waste their summer squatting with the geese crap. Just don’t forget to water the lawn in the morning.
The original guy was there for like four months or something before they took it down, no one really knows or cares. These wing-nuts are just there now to take advantage of of Trudeau. If they can get a meet with him like ChickenBoneInSoupHairInCurlers did last year in Ottawa then that’s a win for them.
