Earlier this month, I was back “home” in Vancouver and spotted this pair of posters at Granville Island:

Here’s the web page referenced on the left. The link on the right leads to a 404 Error.
One can only wonder why the “Stop Asian Hate” link no longer works. Might it have something to do with the fact that when unprovoked attacks on people of Asian descent were investigated in America, it turns out they’re almost always carried out by young black males?!? Asking for a friend.

100% Robert. The AAPI HATE hysteria in the SF Bay Area was a direct response to Trump calling COVID … the Chynnaaahhhh Virus. But it abruptly stopped when surveillance camera evidence showing crazed black men mugging frail Asian women and me . Nope. Not a red hat.
How Pacific Islanders got included in this TDS crusade is beyond me
Well, this works:

Brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood CCP.
I vividly recall seeing a Big Press of this Stop Asian Hate thing at the start of the Covid lockdown in early 2020; indeed, I recall seeing something close to this on the elevator ad screen in my downtown Toronto office tower at the time.*
At the time, it seemed BLINDLY OBVIOUS that this media blitz/campaign, dovetailing as it did with the Covid and the Lab Leak Hypothesis, was bought and paid for by the Chinese Communist Party or some CCP adjacent group, in a pre-emptive attempt to deflect any blame from China, the CCP, etc., for the Covid ‘plandemic’ and to conflate ANY entirely-justified criticism of China with being synonymous with “Asian Hate.”
Assuming these above-cited Granville Island pics are current, I can only speculate as to why this campaign is being revisited. Perhaps it’s connected with trying to head off any outrage over Carney’s bailout of numerous Vancouver-based, Chinese/CCP-adjacent condo developers. Anyone have another theory?
*as they said in Watergate, “follow the money.” This particular ad campaigned was actually facilitated by my ex-neighbor who was at the time, in charge of digital advertising partnerships with the property management firm that ran my building (the position provided her with useful distraction from the fact that she married and had 3 kids with an obviously gay man) so you might want to ask her what CCP front company paid for it.
