Lady Churchill told Olive that when Sir Winston heard the Canadian election results “he was so excited he danced.” And when Olive remarked that everyone seemed interested in the outcome, Churchill shook his jowls: “Interested? …Why shouldn’t they be? It is the most important event since the end of the war.”
The above is in reference to John Diefenbaker winning the June 1957 election in Canada, defeating the Liberal government of Louis St Laurent. That said, Churchill was vehemently opposed to tariffs his entire life.

Apparently, Carney and the Premiers want to use oil & gas as leverage against US tariffs. Wouldn’t it make more sense to hold back on autos and electricity?
They get a twofer by tariffing oil and gas, they hurt both America and Alberta. What’s not to like?
Danielle Smith has just said she won’t put tariffs on exported oil & gas to the US because the US would put tariffs on oil & gas imported by Ontario from the US.
Which got me thinking; America is putting tariffs on imports and Canada wants to put tariffs on exports.
Because Alberta oil isn’t being subjected to extra duties. The “Elbows Up!” retards of Morontario can’t stand that.
L – Keith Wilson updates the arguments for Alberta Independence, now augmented by the power of Alberta’s oil, being raised constantly in Canada’s trade talks.

and then p.m. cant-make-up-his-mind promptly BLEW [one of] the biggest majorities in Cdn political history
First 1987 Reagan was against tariffs (as he was himself imposing them)
now we get
1957 Churchill was against tariffs.
Here’s what THIS working class man can read … the calendar. And the news. Pssst … it’s not 1957 or 1987 anymore. And the globalist world is an entirely different place. And Communist Chyyyyynahhhh is no longer a dirt poor overpopulated sad third world dump … although Canada appears to be vying for that designation.
1932 Churchill wasn’t so anti-tariff (Imperial Preference system). Shhh, don’t tell the ‘free trade’ people.
Moudakis is so cringeworthy I can barely stand to look at any of his cartoons. He obviously suffers from Conservative Derangement Syndrome.
Sad comment on CanAhh Duh.
Diefenbaker was the last time Canada had any longterm planned infrastructure..
He can be seen,in hindsight,as the last Statesman elected to Parliament in Canada.
His defeat began the long decline.
And our history shows this.
Dief The Chief, sought to create that Canada our men and women sacrificed for.
Since him,it has been Libtards all the way down.
And we are about to bottom out.
