      I mean it’s only 300 billion barrels – Alberta has 160 billion barrels – there goes that negotiating point down the barrel so to speak for Carney. Damn and you wonder what Trump was doing by arresting Maduro. Well, that didn’t take too long to figure out.

    1. Now, why could that be? Think about the state of your other parties in Canada, and with what’s going on in the other provinces of Canada, and then read up on Carney’s history, then look at a map.
      I’d also say look at some of the comments of your fellow Canadians, including yourself — why hold on to a province that everybody else seems to hate and the feelings seem to be mutual? Why was it allowed to get this way?

      1. Atlantic Canada has been on equalization since it began with only a very few exceptions. AND, Atlantic Canada is horribly OVER represented in Parliament. If you use the population to seat ratio of Atlantic Canada and apply it to Alberta, it should have 60 seats….not 37. And if you apply the population to seat ration of PEI to Alberta, it should have 110 seats.

        1. Eastern Canada’s skewed representation proves to be a feature, not a bug for when the Liberals need to squeak in a minority government for the periods when Quebec feels “unappreciated”.

      Face it, Carnage’s whole strategy has been to scuttle talks from the getgo, strictly for selfish political reasons, the by-elections, and maybe a general too, to the detriment of us all.

    1. What Lutnik is saying is what Greer and Bessent have been saying.

      Most companies, especially multinationals, in the U.S. just include French and Spanish at the very least in order to streamline their production cost efficiency; that way they don’t have to bother with it. And American companies that ship to Canada have had this requirement placed on them since 1985. It’s been a source of friction, but not a deal breaker.

      1. Yup. Printing labels has been going on for a while. You’re a US company and all you have to do to get access to market is print labels? No problemo. I tell you what: You have to make batches to ship anyways, some batches technically different to match some dumbass environmental or technical requirement. Throwing in a frikkin label is nothing.         Your government walked away from this trade deal because they weren’t going to stop transshipping; that would be my best guess. Probably also didn’t want to make your financial system more transparent either.
        But getting you guys mad at each other has been a time honored Canadian government trick, so…

  10. The best thing that could happen now, is for Carnage’s grand strategy to backfire.
    Namely, he wanted to get past the byelections, then get the deal with the US.
    Let’s hope the US has moved on indeed, and make Carnage and his cronies stew for many months. If Ontario loses BIGLY, that’s too bad. Those workers voted for Ford and Carnage, let them reap what they sow.
    If they lost the whole auto industry, I wouldn’t miss a minute of sleeping.

  11. Carney won’t mess with Alberta’s oil exports to the US until the vote to hold a vote is over. If he did the vote to hold a vote would pass with a wide margin. Canada is Quebec, Ontario and Maritimes. The western provinces only exist to fund projects in other provinces.

  13. It’s aboot 2 things: First for the Liberal’s survival (and favors to pay back), because of the upcoming election in Quebec. Again with the Defend agaisnt Orange man bad play. Plays well in Quebec and in Canada, largely. Everything in the world is Trump’s fault.

    The second, and most important is the upcoming mid terms in the US. You do know Carney’s advisor from down south right? You know Obama’s been up here too. He got promised a better deal when the Dems get in power. And when I say “He” I don’t necessarily mean Canada. The Democrats (the few sane ones left) are playing the economic angle on this, so a screwed up trades negotiation is good for them. They have to try to win this one with a sizeable chunk of their cheating machine hobbled by Trump.

  14. I can’t see a reason for Lutnick to lie, I think this is the truth. So Carney lied and threw Canada under the bus just for political reasons, for own party to get ahead. Isn’t this treason?
