  1. Today it all boils down to the study of genitalia and how it socially affects the world from poverty in Africa to Global warming to Donald Trump.
Tomorrow there will be only one University degree available: Genetalist PhD. the all knowing of everything.

  2. John Batchelor recently had a 2-part interview with David Horowitz about why he ultimately renounced leftism and is now an avid conservative.

  3. When I was in college … it was fashionable for the college to host lectures that expressed “alternative” ideas and scholarship. The college even had a couple professors who were well-known for their (always hardcore leftist) “alternative” ideology.
Sometime since I left college … the “alternative” became the dogmatic establishment. Only NOW … they REFUSE to entertain ANY “alternative” (to their own) ideology. Academia has raised the drawbridge. They have barred access to anyone who “looks” or “thinks” different from them. The city gates are closed and they live in their collegiate fortresses like frightened, superstitious, Medieval Monks.
The fact that Bill Ayers, and Angela Davis are collecting massive $$$ full professor salaries, benefits, and pensions is simply hard to swallow. Their scholarship consists of teaching … “tear it all down mehaaaaaaan”. Providing these cretins WEALTH for damaging our children and culture is simply criminal. And now we are reaping the results of giving these subversives POWER. They won’t stop until they have PURGED every last conservative from the planet.
We have no one but ourselves to blame. In the name of “diversity”, we invited the snakes into our institutions. It is only a matter of time until they launch the next Socialist REVOLUTION and start stacking-up the skulls. If we don’t fight back … there will be nothing left but weeping and gnashing of teeth.

  4. “alternative” ideology.
Heh, today “alternative ideology” – is – individual rights, freedoms & liberty, actually valued instead of pet phrases.
Maybe one day there will be a movement towards them.

  5. A good friend of mine grew up in Africa where he lived in mortal fear of the witch doctor. His experience is not that much different than present day western culture and its fear of and submission to assorted and sundry leftist academics. Like the witch doctors in Africa the leftist academic spews little more than superstition and fear but still somehow cows otherwise intelligent human beings into following the academics teachings slavishly.

  6. Yes Joe; your comment is the start of the solution. Witch Doctors of society’s Ills and the care of the semi-literate.
What is now required is for Commerce/Industry/Development; you follow I am confident is to require Students to Provide and Define any & all Witch Doctors in applying for a position at the Business organization.
The next step is to defend their Definition of the Study/Seminar/Course etc. they are using in their submission for Employment.
The conversion of the Ayers/Davis Curriculum and their stunted Acolytes to such a change will be dependent upon earning a “Witch Doctor” accreditation from Sherrif Clarke et al after spending three weeks walking though the neighbourhoods of Destruction and Torment in the Destroyed Inner Cities & abandoned Apalachicola; or similar abandonment areas of neglect.

  7. The author was correct in his assessment of the situation at liberal arts faculties but seemed to conclude that a compromise between liberty and tyranny was a preferred place as if that wasn’t where we are moving from and the reason for our decline.

  8. Yeah …. Little bit by little bit ….
Can’t see that the tyranny of the “intellectuals” is anything but that.
In the 60’s of the past century in central European country run by communists, during a time of what they called liberation of the press and thought, they would write about how socialists/fascists depended on the “class struggle” to maintain their power relatively easy.
Not unlike the socialists/fascists of Alberta, they want to control the plebeians by telling them that it is the fault of capitalists that they are poor, all the while the plebeians not being interested in the socialists aristocrats robbing them of their daily bread.
Yeah, there needs to be more of actual intellectuals to stand up the idiocy of the pseudo intellectuals that rule the schools now.
You see, it is the easiest thing in the world to promise and give of someone else’s wealth when you get in political position to do so.
It is though a different story for every person to struggle every day to make an effort to do better than the day before.
How unfortunate it is for the coming generation to have to live in totalitarian condition all the while thinking that they reached the pinnacle of humanity.
If you think life sucks, look to near future and ponder.

  9. 18th century England saw a birth of Dissenter colleges because Oxford & Cambridge required Anglican membership. The Dissenter colleges became centers of science and technology, which had been somewhat neglected at Oxbridge. Would that this could happen again.
