  1. Not only do the conservatives have the money…their free-loading, liberal, left-leaning offsprings rely on those conservative parents to give them money. Any liberal thinking that got into my oldest son (he was raised right–but school, the media and friends are still part of his universe) quickly disappeared after he looked at his first paycheque and asked why they took so much off for tax. When I showed him the five-figure cheque I sent to Revenue Canada…I told him that money could have helped him go to trade school but now it was going to druggies and free-loaders. (that’s what plays here in Ottawa–free injection sites and future jihadists, I mean “refugees”).

  2. I pretty much gave up Pepsi in 2009 after they changed their logo to practically mirror obama’s rising sun logo. BTW – did anyone see the full length version of that Kendall Jenner commercial? It runs for like 2 minutes and is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen on film. That includes that Billy Squire music video that killed that poor guy’s career.

  3. I find it hard to believe that a huge corporation like Target doesn’t know EXACTLY who shops at their stores. I expect that Target has detailed demographic data which includes the political persuasion of their customer base. I also expect the CEO of Target made a calculated decision when he embraced the most leftist, offensive-to-conservative-values decision to “embrace” transgenders to the detriment of normals. If not, then the CEO flaunted his own personal political opinion to the predictable detriment of his Co. if the latter is true, then the Board should summarily FIRE their IDIOT of a CEO. Their deliberately subversive CEO. On the other hand, I expect the Minnesota-liberal Board of Target fully embraces this leftist “progressive” numbskullery. Either way … Target deserves to go out of business for their IDIOTIC corporate decision. But not to worry … the Board and the CEO will simply blame Amazon for their demise. They will wash their hands of the self-crucifixion of Target.

  4. Tar-jey made a real thud in Canada, it’s amazing it’s still in biz.
    Sears clinging by fingernails….

  5. The traditional retail sector is in trouble and I saw one reason why the other day. I went to a certain home improvement store and I couldn’t find something that I had in mind to buy. I spent several minutes looking for someone who might help and, when I did, he was busy with someone else.
After waiting several minutes, I turned around and left without those items.
Why should I put up with such rotten service?
As for Sears, it’s a basket case, which is a great pity because it used to be a good store, say, 20 years ago. For example, if one couldn’t afford Snap-On tools, Craftsman was an excellent second choice.
The decline started when Sears merged with K-mart and put its boss in charge. All he was interested in was increasing the value of his stock and did whatever he could to achieve that, including closing a lot of stores and cutting product lines.
The aforementioned Craftsman line had gone down in quality as the tools themselves were made by some third-rate manufacturer and the name simply stamped on the side. It came as no surprise to me when I learned that it was sold to Stanley Black & Decker earlier this year.
    Sad….

  6. FYI. It’s been reported that Target’s CEO was against the decision but he was overridden by the majority of the Board.
They should have listened to him.

  7. That’s called … “revisionist history”. Happens all the time. Esp. in the lofts of corporate power. Nobody “owns” their malignant decisions. Someone else gets the blame.
And since when does a Board make day-to-day operational decisions ? Like remodeling bathrooms to ensure your little girl gets to share the toilet with a FREAK ?
Not that I am arguing … just to say that the BLAME applies to ALL. EVERYONE at Target. They CHOSE to accept a Conservative boycott … instead of a GAY LOBBY boycott. Perhaps they chose correctly ? Instead of a 6% decline in “conservative” sales … maybe it would have been a 12% decline in GAY (and GAY sympathizer) sales ?

  8. Kenji,
I’m certain that Target’s stupid decision was largely driven by the “political culture” of their HQ location, which is suburban Minneapolis, MN. That city and state have been governed mostly by elected progressives (with only a few exceptions) for decades, just like Chicago, NYC, LA, Detroit and Philly. People surrounded by lifelong ‘progressive’ voters and media in such places assume EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE holds their same values. Surprise!!! …that’s not the case!

  10. I quit Burger King three years ago when they caved to the GayStapo and “Rainbowed” their wrappings, even though they make the best chain burger around.
I used to spend over $300/ month on meds alone at Target plus about $200/month on incidentals.
I haven’t spent one thin dime nor stepped foot into their store since this policy came down and wrote a letter to the store manager as well as the DM telling the why.
I hope they go down in flames.

  11. I objet to the word “BOYcott” it’s sexist. It should be person-cott or even it-cott. REEEEEEEEEEE!

  12. My guess is Targets board including CEO are a very open minded lot. So open minded their brains all fell out. I still smile when I drive by West Edmonton Mall and look at the abandoned Target store. Yes I know that Target Canada failed before the US bathroom fiasco but both cases indicate a CEO and board should have been replaced long time ago.

  13. Somewhat related. Woman goes on CBC to announce to the world that she is boycotting Hudson’s Bay because they carry Ivanka Trump products. CBC is shocked that this attention seeker is receiving vitriolic comments via social media as if that has never happened before. The comments on the story are entertaining too as CBC is being castigated for running this one-sided non-news story.
Canadian woman threatened with being ‘dropped in an acid bath’ for boycotting Trump products

  14. I cannot recall the details, but quite some while back there was an analysis of Target’s failure in Canada – they did EVERYTHING wrong, and urinated their capital against a vertical structure.
Many of these individuals got their executive positions because of their ‘academic credentials’ rather than proven experience.

  15. I’m always amused when attention-seekers such as that get exactly what they wanted, just not the kind they wanted. She could have done the same silly boycott and only told her lefty pals and all would have been hunky-dory, but oh no… no, she wanted national attention and she sure got it.
Now, I realize she probably limits her media consumption to the CBC and the HuffPo, but did she really never hear of there being the possibility that others might not be as approving as she hoped?

  16. Target started its virtue signalling when it was forced by the Minnesota Social Justice Crowd forced it to quit the ALEC political lobbying group. That was about five years ago.
I haven’t completely stopped shopping there, but I have gone from $800-1200 per month to $7.50 last month. It does a lot of its retail marketing stuff right, and compared to Walmart, the stores are bright and spotless clean.

  17. If your corporate values disgust your customers it doesn’t matter whether those customers are liberal or conservative, offend them and lose them.

  18. If true, then conservatives have to be some of the most neurotic sissies in the world
Wow. Have you ever missed the boat. There are at least two aspects to this.
The first is the obvious moral issue of allowing men into women’s bathrooms, notwithstanding any faux stated reasons (such as transgenderism) for that decision. One would think that a competent CEO would know that women do most of the spending at department stores and, therefore, some of this spending would be in jeoprody.
The second is the business reason. “He who takes the money is the servant.” This CEO either never learned this lesson or forgot it. He seems to think like a government bureaucrat in that he can take the money of people and tell them how to think and live at the same time.
Therefore, any thinking person would look at these two reasons and conclude that Target was being run by an incompetent CEO. It would be just a matter of time before this government bureaucrat masquerading as a CEO would turn Target into just one more government bureaucracy with all its associated consequences of decreasing quality of service and products, increasing prices, and lowered profits for shareholders. The only questions would be time and the intensity of the degradation.
It is so refreshing to see the market work as it is supposed to work. A business is supposed to serve the needs of its customers.

  19. “If true, then conservatives have to be some of the most neurotic sissies in the world”
Yeah, sure, put down conservative values. That’s how you get Trump. By putting down other people’s values instead of promoting your own.
Do transgenders even want to use the women’s public toilets?
Wouldn’t dykes prefer to use the men’s toilet and wouldn’t trans/crossdressers really prefer to be in a place where they could hang out with half naked men and men with their tallywackers hanging out?
This whole issue is just BS and Target stepped on their dicks here. It should hurt.

  20. I read the ‘autopsy report’ on why Target missed the mark so badly when they tried to enter the Cdn market.
the previous record for highest level mismanagement was set by the Eatons who, for instance, did not allow the use of any but Eatons own credit cards for purchases.
bullheadedness in business has a very high price. I chalk it up to a pandemic habit of upper mgmt utterly ignoring any input whatsoever from front line personnel who have ALREADY ferreted out the bugs.

  21. No we got Trump because of a bizarre series of circumstances and by the mobilization of a large mass of imbeciles and desperate union flunkies. This is the culmination of the intellectual decay of the right.
Keep telling yourself that. The former eight years of push-push-push had not a thing to do with it, right?
