  1. It’s bad when a Republican does it — no matter what “it” is. Even the most innocuous, innocent comment becomes a federal offense if uttered by a Republican (see Sarah Palin and “death panels”).
But when a Democrat does it, the sun shines out of their every orifice and we are to hail them as the saints and messiahs they believe themselves to be
This is the state of American politics, and the media, in the 21st century. Yipee.

  2. I don’t trust Obama. I did trust that George W would try to do the right thing. Bottom line is that I do not trust the system any longer. No matter what the intent of those at the top they are served by a cadre of people, many of whom are their for their own enrichment.
So much of the corruption in government is enabled by deficit spending. Force governments back to mandatory balanced budgets and much of the problem goes away. Most governments today, right or left, do not even make a pretense of spending within society’s ability to pay. No wonder the average guy on the street doesn’t care one way or the other. He rarely faces any consequences. When the ponsi scheme of deficit spending collapses he will pay big time.

  3. Amy, I would go one step further. By and large, the media in the US and in Canada no longer even pretends it is objective. The left took over the journalism schools a long time ago and feel powerful enough to openly hoodwink the LIVs. Consequently a politician on the left can say and do pretty much whatever he wants and get away with it. McGuinty in Ontario is a prime example.

  4. Just when you thought the O administration couldn’t get any worse, they are now preparing climate change legislation. Nail in the coffin for the economy?

  5. They have spent tens of billions of dollars for a system to spy on Tea Party plotters.
But where is the Obama Peoples’ Militia to persecute, arrest, and intern them without
due process in accordance with the new improved interpretations of the constitution?
Plus all the money spent tying up ammunition plants solely on government contracts?
    This very worrisome.
    Is the cupboard bare?

  6. It does take a while for the word to get around. Trust His Foulness? Oh, one certainly can. He is utterly reliable, in taking decisions which are deleterious to the safety, security, prosperity, and world reputation of the United States of America. He can be relied upon to appease Iran. He apparently likes some radical Islamists, though he does try to kill others. He is reliably anti-Israel, although the occasional word of support can be wrested from him.
Yes, I regarded George W. Bush as a good man and a fairly good President. He was not fully in control of the US government, and he listened too much to his critics. But still, a good man and a good president.

  7. USA today is a liberal publication – when you see the core Liberal voice in America admitting that the whole Obama phenomena was a brash decision which produced a horribly rogue regime, you know the end (hopefully multiple impeachment/indictment) is near – unfortunately there is more 4th reich in this regime than Marxist utopianism and they will use the power of the leviathan state to retain power – even go as far as to start a war and suspend elected congress – it will be a tough row to root these cockroaches out of the woodwork of government.

  8. A nail? Nope.Try a 12″ spike. And how can you have an economy, when your funny money is worth less then Monopoly money?

  9. CT, I’ve long felt that all governments should be forced into annual balanced budget spending. One exception might be in times of war, but even then, I think there should be a referendum of the people to decide if monies should be borrowed.
Another necessary thing to achieve fiscal accountability & sanity is the elimination of all public sector unions. Their conflict of interest at the bargaining table, with their inclination to fund the election of politicians friendly to them, is simply unacceptable.

  10. Saw a note on Drudge the other day, but didn’t go to the link. It said:
    “W’s popularity highest since 2005”
    ya think?!

  11. I’m not sure what 17 UNSC resolutions, plus an act of Congress, signed into law by none other than Bill Clinton — Father of the Year — can really do for you, anymore.
On the other hand, I do know that if George W. Bush were President today, Keystone XL would have been bought, paid for, and already built (with all due consideration to the “environmental” issues involved, blah, blah, blah).
Decision-maker. And with great spontaneous oratory — “I hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down are going to hear from all of us soon.”
As good as Churchill — better, actually.

  12. Most people have been singing the same chorus about Obama even before he was elected .
With years behind him, its even worse than we thought.
A lot of Americans just cannot abide any criticism of this pseudo Messiah.
    Even when he’s bugging them.
I long for the daysd of tricky Dick. He was just impeached because he lied about when he knew about a break in. Today that would not merit even a mention in any Media.
When he starts rounding people up, will people still worship this guy?
    They did Stalin.

  13. I maintain that the media are the real story here, Obama, McGinty both running true to their nature.
Both screwing the honest citizens with the blessing and cheerleading of the media.
We have been betrayed by the Presstitutes.
They have given away their “special status and protection in favour of being sycophants.
I remain curious as to who will start shooting reporters, ala Russian, first; The public or the government?
