This Is CNN

Via Instapundit:

How can words convey just how pathetic CNN’s numbers are? You’re talking about a national network, with anchors earning millions annually, supported by a vast staff of reporters, producers, editors and technicians. And at 8 a.m. ET, Camerota and Berman are viewed by an audience of 567,000. By comparison, Olivia Jade Giannulli, the vapid airhead whose mother cheated to get her into college, has 1.9 million YouTube subscribers.

Things You’re Going To See On The CBC

Just straight up propaganda: The sun is quieter than normal, but don’t panic!

“No Maunder Minimum. Certainly no Little Ice Age,” said David Hathaway, an astrophysicist who once headed NASA’s solar physics branch at the Marshall Space Flight Center. “The next cycle looks like it’s going to be very much like this one.”

He explains that, while the sun does dim during a minimum, it’s only by a tenth of a per cent, which translates into a tenth of a degree Celsius. And with the warming by about 1C that we’ve seen due to climate change — and the warming that is to come — it’s unlikely that we’ll notice.

Because while a rise from .03 to .04 percent of the atmosphere is the driver of catastrophic climate change that demands the complete destruction of the world economy — a .1 percent drop in energy coming from the sun is completely insignificant.

Things You’re Going To See At The CBC

This photo was circulating yesterday on Twitter, but no one seemed to be able to verify its authenticity. There was some concern it may be a hoax.

So, I emailed the CBC about it.

Hello Catherine,

Replying to your inquiry about the billboards.

CBC recently launched an awareness campaign using visuals from our archives to demonstrate that despite changing times, CBC News is by your side. This billboard is one piece of the larger project, intended to highlight CBC’s longstanding tradition of covering the news that matters to Canadians, here at home and around the world. To ensure the clarity of our message, we are revisiting this particular element of the campaign.

Regards,

Kerry Kelly

“we would of course line up all kinds of people to write op-eds saying that what she was doing is proper”

February 28: UNPOSSIBLE!

March 1: DON’T WORRY! BE HAPPY!

March 3: “THERE’S NO SCANDAL HERE!

That didn’t take long.

Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

Candice Malcolm;

I recently learned that Canada’s state broadcaster spent resources trying to investigate me and my social media. And the Prime Minister’s Office took an interest.

The CBC attempted what amounts to a smear campaign against, among others, myself, Ezra Levant and Barbara Kay.

You might have seen the story online. The alarmist headline read: “Twitter trolls stoked debates about immigration and pipelines in Canada, data show: 9M troll tweets released by Twitter reveal foreign campaigns to influence Canadians’ opinions.”

When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

Conrad Black;

The most immense and dangerous public scandal in American history is finally cracking open like a ripe pomegranate. The broad swath of the Trump-hating media that has participated in what has amounted to an unconstitutional attempt to overthrow the government are reduced to reporting the events and revelations of the scandal in which they have been complicit, in a po-faced ho-hum manner to impart to the misinformed public that this is as routine as stock market fluctuations or the burning of an American flag in Tehran.

New Rules

Writ large;

Attorneys representing the Kentucky high school student involved in a confrontation that went viral on social media last month announced Tuesday that they were suing The Washington Post for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in Kentucky, accused The Post of practicing “a modern-day form of McCarthyism” by targeting Nicholas Sandmann and “using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles … to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the president.”

Jumpin’ Fake News

It’s A Gas Gas Gas!

Now approaching nearly a year after the April 7, 2018 alleged chemical attack in Douma, Syria — which the White House used as a pretext to bomb Syrian government facilities and bases throughout Damascus — a BBC reporter who investigated the incident on the ground has issued public statements saying the “Assad sarin attack” on Douma was indeed “staged”.

Riam Dalati is a well-known BBC Syria producer who has long reported from the region. He shocked his nearly 20,000 twitter followers on Wednesday, which includes other mainstream journalists from major outlets, by stating that after a “six month investigation” he has concluded, “I can prove without a doubt that the Douma Hospital scene was staged.” […]

The BBC’s Dalati made the statements in response to a lengthy investigative report by James Harkin writing for The Intercept. Harkin had examined the scenes and physical environs of the alleged Douma attack and interviewed eyewitnesses on site. His report paints a complex picture of propaganda and deeply compromised rebel sources such as Saudi-backed Jaish al Islam, which had control of Douma amidst a Syrian government onslaught to retake the town.

The “hospital scene” footage, now called “staged” by a BBC producer, circulated widely among media outlets at the time…
