The recent attention by the french, particularly in Quebec has suddenly been seized with, has shifted sentiment and they now realize they can’t just ignore the jihadi’s anymore. My guess is that they will view the apologist political class as having a tin ear and if not willing to shift their own support, at least willing to withdraw their support from those that like to sit on fences.

First, I commend PM Harper for his comments. But, it will take more than just words to bring about real change in the fight against Islamic terrorism.

Clearly, the West’s response to Islamic terrorism is tepid. At a minimum, it will take a more pragmatic approach domestically to disrupt sleeper cells within the country and it will take a far bolder, coordinated foreign policy to starve countries that support terrorism of markets and monies. No options should be off the table – none.
The only question needing to be answered is, “Does the political leadership in the West have the will to defend life and liberty?”

I agree with you, in this day and age our only terrorists of note are Jihadis. But for the purposes of greater clarity (if for no other reason than to get the quivering classes shivering) it was useful for him to make the distinction.

Couldn’t agree with you more. The international politician Harper most resembles is former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. He endlessly talks tough about what should be done while doing next to nothing, and while his own policies of massive immigration make the situation worse.
Before I give any credit to the PM on this, and I am a supporter, he’s the best we have, we need to see a STOP to all immigration from Islamic states. We need to act on the declaration that we are at war, invoke an act with teeth to allow authorities to take whatever measures needed to interrogate and infiltrate wherever they suspect radicalization is taking place and who is funding it.
It was done in WW11, German families who were born here were visited by authorities and questioned even when some of those families had sons already fighting for Canada.

The very best Canada can do is to really tighten up the screening processes at time of entry. Our actual immigration process may not be airtight, but it’s not letting in anywhere near the amount of trash as our refugee system is. Far to much control of our Immigration system has been handed over to greedy immigration lawyers.
Much, much more can be done, and should be done on the home front. Our security agencies, prosecutors, and judges have to be given clear instructions that there is no place for PC when it comes to national security. Fire, demote, suspend, or banish to the boondocks any police chief, bureaucrat, judge or Crown Attorney who doesn’t get it.

See, the thing we all have to keep in mind is that Liberals (and liberals) don’t really believe in anything. They have policies. They have issues. They have causes. But they don’t have BELIEFS.

I certainly agree that this would be the catalyst that might stop immigration, but to date, it is invariably the ordinary classes who bear the brunt of the assaults and murders. For example, Turdo la first did nothing as lomg as the FLQ was killing ordinary folk, but once a politician got murdered, his arsehole started puckering and he tripled his body-guard and called in the troops. However, until something as you described happens, there will be no closure of the immigration gates.

I certainly agree that this would be the catalyst that might stop immigration, but to date, it is invariably the ordinary classes who bear the brunt of the assaults and murders. For example, Turdo la first did nothing as lomg as the FLQ was killing ordinary folk, but once a politician got murdered, his arsehole started puckering and he tripled his body-guard and called in the troops. However, until something as you described happens, there will be no closure of the immigration gates.

We cannot ship out all the Muslims within our borders or incarcerate them, but we can drastically improve our surveillance, cell penetration, and mosque surveillance and at the same time work closer together with foreign anti-terrorist forces.
The west has to wean itself from ME energy as this is what funds the Saudi supported Mosques that are the breeding grounds of this domestic Jihad. This will not happen as long as their stooge is in the White House.
We are not going to ever totally stop their efforts to take over the world as the Islamic Jihadist now lives within our western borders. We can only try to neutralize them.

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was murdered by Muslim Jihadi Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, who had a criminal record in Quebec and BC, and was on a no-fly list with a suspended passport.
Unless you could point to an uptick in attacks from some other terrorist group than Islam, Jihadi is just as non-specific a term as terrorist.

The large majority of the Syrian refugees being accepted by the Harper Conservative government are Christians.

As a purely practical matter I don’t really think it matters a tinker’s d@mn how much surveillance gets done, or who they watch, or whatever. It matters who’s on site when it hits the fan, carrying what. Everything else is spinning wheels, tire smoke and wasted money. At best.
