An Oakville man says Halton police made his young daughter cry as they cleared a crowd of tobogganers from an Oakville park on Saturday, Jan. 30.
 
Charbel Cheaib said his 11-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter had been cooped up inside all day so he and his wife decided to take them to Old Abbey Lane Park to enjoy some tobogganing.
 
At around 4 p.m., however, he said the fun came to an end when a Halton police officer arrived on the scene.

“(My wife Nikki) arrived in Calgary tonight and when she got there she was greeted by a Police Officer and an AHS official,” wrote Pastor Chris Mathis on his Facebook page.
 
“They rejected her results and told her she needed to go immediately to an isolation facility. She was told if she resisted she would be arrested. She called me, and I immediately asked to talk with the officer. I talked with both a police officer and the AHS official, they reiterated what she had said to me. I asked for the address of where she would be, they said they could not give me the location address as it was confidential.
 
“I asked for their names, again they would not give me any information or their names. I pushed, I questioned, I tried to fight but they said they would arrest her if she resisted. They would not give me any information on where they were taking my wife.

For the second time in less than 24 hours, Montreal police (SPVM) officers intervened on Saturday morning to put an end to two major illegal gatherings in the Outremont borough of Montreal.
 
The SPVM reported being called on Saturday morning, around 9:30 a.m., to go to a “place of worship” located on Hutchison St., near Saint-Viateur St. in the predominantly Hasidic Jewish area of the city.
 
The police found that “dozens” of people were inside, said SPVM spokesperson Veronique Comtois.
