Requiem for All Conspiracy Theorists

Matt Taibbi’s latest substack article brings some solace to this otherwise crazy year:

Sometime in the last decade, many people — I was one — began to feel robbed of their sense of normalcy by something we couldn’t define. Increasingly glued to our phones, we saw that the version of the world that was spat out at us from them seemed distorted. The public’s reactions to various news events seemed off-kilter, being either way too intense, not intense enough, or simply unbelievable. You’d read that seemingly everyone in the world was in agreement that a certain thing was true, except it seemed ridiculous to you, which put you in an awkward place with friends, family, others. Should you say something? Are you the crazy one?

Canada’s Very Own Grinch

With a heart as black as coal, she stole several Christmases, and Easters, and Halloweens, and Birthdays. Plus Happiness and Prosperity. Plus the Education of Children young & old.

Who are we referring to? Watch this and find out.

Update: The comments from Twitter are telling. Here’s but one example:

Who are some others that should have been added?

Some New Heroes Are Coming to the Fore

An emerging name in the anti-woke movement that you may not be so familiar with is Vivek Ramaswamy. He wrote Woke, Inc.. This past year he started an asset management firm called Strive. Strive creates opportunities for investors to “invest in the stock market without mixing business with politics”. The old Milton Freedman idea that “There is one and only one social responsibility of business—to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits.”  Strive launched an ETF called “DRLL” which exclusively invests in US energy. It’s a vehicle for investors to counter the fossil fuel divestment campaigns. Strive wrote a powerful letter to the Chevron board suggesting that they pursue a “post-ESG” mandate. In other words, instead of kowtowing to environmental activists like Larry Fink, they focus on selling oil and gas and making money for their shareholders.

Tim Robbins Wakes Up

It took awhile but eventually Tim Robbins came to realize that something was awry with the Covid narrative.

On a personal note, I’ve done a lot of thinking recently about when I began to suspect that something was not right with what we were being told. A bellwether event for me was in early June 2020, when 1,288 Public Health “Professionals” signed their name to an open letter which argued that the George Floyd protests/riots were okay “because racism is itself a public-health issue that needs to be addressed“. More here. There were other events as well but this was a big one.

If you happen to recall what fueled your skepticism of The Narrative™, please do share.

Covid Insanity Forever!

It has often been said that people with messed up childhoods end up becoming psychologists. One wonders if those afflicted with germaphobia end up getting employed in public health. How else to explain the paranoid insanity coming out of the mind of Dr. Ashwin Vasan, the New York City Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene:

“The holiday season is about togetherness and there is a way to gather safely – even as respiratory viruses in our city are unusually high,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan. “It starts with protecting yourself. Vaccination and boosters are critical but so are common sense precautions like masking when indoors or among crowds and staying home if you don’t feel well. Also, get tested before getting together, and get treated quickly if you test positive. We want everyone to have a happy and – most of all – healthy holiday.”

Tulsi Gabbard Interviews Tucker Carlson

I realize that not everyone is a fan of Tulsi Gabbard, accusing her of being an opportunist. Similarly, some accuse Tucker Carlson of being controlled opposition. I don’t trust any media or political figure wholeheartedly; think “skeptical optimist”. But when a person says things that resonate with me, I do appreciate them.

Here’s a discussion between these two, which was published Tuesday morning.
