SDA Technical Update

Please know that Lance & Kate are aware of the strange appearance of the site when one is not logged in. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

  1. Thank you both, for all you do … unseen … and unheralded … behind the scenes. Rest assured, that most of us here understand and appreciate all you do.

  2. If it helps, I’ve not seen this when I’m not logged in.

But I have an iPhone8 (with latest operating system for iPhone8), and on my PC I’m still using Windows 7.

  3. This is what I do for a living. Everything about web front ends is a dumpster fire; it’s a trial for corporate software engineering teams to get them functional. I don’t envy amateurs trying to get them working as a side hustle.

  4. my technical geek story: my HP M234dw was flashing and flashing away so bright l unplugged it.
in a fit of pique it stopped working. tried for days, 3 separate approaches to resolve the driver issue.
    gave up.
next day l see a scanner icon on the opening display. so l try it. the scanner scans a blank page, creates a pdf.
    hmm.
so l print the blank page,
    ?
the thing ‘fixed itself’. WHY the driver problem for merely unplugging remains unknown.
the digital realm gets more and more complex despite ‘plug and play’ because
when THAT doesnt pan out then youse REALLY got a challenge.
    kudos to the SDA team.

  5. Thanks Robert for picking that up, I commented because I wasn’t sure if it was just me though no other site appeared to be affected.
When I opened the site I got a weird rotating green emblem that said “verifying” then the page opened but with odd fonts and spaced out format.
Maybe its something to do with Canadian sites? but no Rebel is still OK.

Anyway SDA is still useable, just not familiar.

    Thanks all.

  6. As of Saturday morning it’s doing it, though I must say it isn’t causing me any problems. It’s still readable and navigable, and it jumps back to familiar when I sign in.

  7. My apologies for the glitch, I’m on an old laptop in the campground at a fairgrounds in Ohio, and only briefly at that, so don’t have the luxury of doing a deep dive into the site to find the problem until I’m home next week.
