      1. cooba has been stressed since way back.
        l find it curious that venezuela in the same time period, started from a reasonable financial position, opted for socialism and then rapidly OVERTOOK cooba in its collapse.
        kinda like in cooba ‘coping’ was a gradual generational thing, learned over generations, a lot of which was propped up by soviet aid that went ‘poof’ in 1989.
        but the ‘survival’ tactics were well entrenched and as such in cooba the downfall and decay was gradual BUT INEVITABLE. and now this.
        whereas with venezuela it was sudden and swift, over the cliff overnight, chavez and maduro all it took.

        all of it STILL a glaring indictment of the socialism morphs into communism historic process.

I ran the rolling hills covered in lupine, poppies and grasses towering over my head, explored the creeks, and meandered through the new housing development springing up around us. OMG!     The Globe and Mail is disappointed that NATO might not appoint Canada’s top general to head the organization. This, with Russia increasing its threat against Europe; the Ukrainian war continuing, etc. An affirmative-action general now? NATO couldn’t be that stupid.

  16. GET READY FOR AN ELECTION. Watched a pod cast where the idea was put forth we would be having a Federal election soon. (sorry I can’t find the link).It makes perfect sense. Firstly , the Liberals must run against Trump, and he will no longer be a threat in less than 2 years. Secondly, the polls have them at 80% support. Thirdly , the media has inflicted huge damage to PP and the CPC. Fourth, they have no real accomplishments to run on . Fifth, they will use any questioning of our “unique” EU association and 100 year Ukraine commitment as an excuse to demand a mandate. While they are terrible at governing and keep digging us into a deeper and deeper hole, they are really good at keeping power. And the Canadian voter will take the bait hook, line and sinker. God help us.

  17. Concerned I agree. Get ready for a November election and an easy Liberal victory. Carney and Trump win again. The Democrats win the House and Senate, and Trump (who has been doing and saying anything to ensure his Republicans lose) wins again. In order for conservatives to win, they have to try to win.
