We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

Demand was “…not as robust as expected”.

  1. I hear there are hundreds of South Korean EV Battery “experts” … available for hire in the immigrant-worker-friendly Canadian workplace. Just contact ICE.

  2. Although I live in a deep blue riding, I am only a few minutes from a deeply woke city (the local MPP is the Green Party leader).

I was in the local Home Depot parking lot recently, parked behind a Tesla. The Tesla had an apologetic bumper sticker explaining the owner bought it “before he knew Elon was crazy”. I got a big laugh out of that.

It must be so hard to be a member of the loony left. The rules change almost daily; one day you are polishing your virtue by buying a Tesla, the next day you are supporting the devil.

Just for the record, I drive a diesel SUV.

  3. It’s a shame for the people who work there. I live about 1/2 hour away. They used to make high volume vehicles like the old sidekick, and various GM small SUVs over the years. There will be even more job losses among their suppliers.
Who in their right mind would think a delivery vehicle that could run 1 shift maybe before needing a charge was economically viable.

    1. Greg, GM never got in the EV market because it was economically a good business decision.
They got into it because they saw an easy mark by the name of Justin Trudeau.
They hollowed out that plant when they moved the production of the Equinox.
They jumped at the EV subsidy to finance moving production of the Equinox out of Canada completely and quashing all contention that GM was going to shutter another Canadian branch plant.

  4. Not entirely unexpected, the Crap-Midas never fails to deliver mediocracy.

There were a number of construction unions which supported the federal Conservatives in the spring 2025 election, when will the auto manufacturing unions support those gov’t parties which want actual vehicles built in Ontario – Quebec? and walk away from whatever the heck they’ve been loving in this past generation ?

  5. ” By 2025, they plan to manufacture 50,000 electric vehicles per year here”

Manufacture all that you want. Who is going to buy them?

  6. Local GM dealer has had one of those things sitting out front for a couple months. Big sign saying “up to $20k off”

  7. Justine the Fair of Sock puppet craps on the bed again (which the Liberals call “Investing”) to the tune of 249 million taxpayer dollars without an act of Parliament. He should be jailed for fraud. And we don’t know what contributions were made on the side to his private retirement fund, OR the Trudeau Foundation (started by Jean Chretien with another 125 million dollars of taxpayer money way back when, an act of embezzlement with a thin veneer of charity that couldn’t cover the stench of the crime).

  8. Let me reiterate … ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE NOT THE FUTURE.
    WHY?
    They are too problematic.
They do poorly in cold climates.
They take far too long to recharge … if you have or can find an available working charger.
They are too heavy due to the weight of the enormous battery pack.
They range on a full charge is not nearly enough for most people.
They will have no resale value due the battery replacement which will be needed soon,
They are also far too expensive to purchase.
Many buildings won’t allow them in underground parking,
One sea faring shipping company will not risk carrying them anymore,
    Two ships lost already.
Is that enough to change your mind … or has the brain-wash of climate change taken hold of you?
Most people are spending all their money on food and rent.

  9. Every promith Juthtin ever made he broke.
(Just ask his singing wife about marriage vows.)
We’d be better off if Liberals just burned our money as nobody would get their hopes up that something good could come of it.
