  1. Sorry Kate, But. I share the C word for special occasions like this. My elementary school teachers taught me never to throw a single piece of garbage on the ground and I never have. That lady is purely mentally ill. Apparently the Cree and Lakota code never used to apply to car bodies.

      Same here, and everyone I know was raised the same way. Yet I walked by a bus stop yesterday with an empty drink box laying underneath it and an empty garbage can less than 20 feet away.

      Also, giving up your seat on the bus to elderly people or pregnant women? We were taught that, too. Never happens now…these kids just stare at their phone and pretend not to see anyone else.

I remember being about 20yo, and pulling up to a stoplight in Walnut Creek, CA … I watched as the driver in front of me rolled down his window and dumped his full ashtray on the roadway … a cloud of cigarette butts and ashes. I guess my streets were his ashtray. I honked my horn and screamed at the man … and got into a bit of a shouting match … which ended when I said I have his license number and I would go to the police (yes, there is a law).

        Nope. I wouldn’t do the same today, because I’d probably get shot.

    1. You don’t get out much. I’ve never been at a large outdoor event with 1,000 white friends where the ground hasn’t been covered with garbage. Employees or volunteers pick it up.

The state that imports such offers nothing worth assimilating to but stolen loot to be grifted. Even the enviro-hysterical woman who wanted the cornucopia to clean up their mess felt the need to share her racism as if she were one of them and not one of the “settlers” pandering to her racism. I didn’t notice any “settlers” in the park. I guess integration and assimilation go hand in hand.

    The only reason they did not ruin the land is because they did not have enough technology.

    Was on a Kananaski River “white water” (white water? thass rayciss!) rafting tour about ten years ago. Floated past a really large cruising yacht sized craft high up in the trees on the shoreline. Seems to have gotten stuck there during a flood several years earlier.

    1. When it comes to “land acknowledgments”, I think the so-called “First Nations” should also perform “land acknowledgments”.

      The should include the reading of this part of the treaties….

        Every time these chiefs and band members try to block a pipeline or mine, or insist they be consulted on land use, they need to be reminded that in doing so THEY are the ones breaking the treaties.

    Popular family hiking trails around Banff are now littered with everything, including plastic water bottles. It matters nothing to them if the trail is crowded and people are watching them. They don’t see anything wrong with what they’re doing and appear incapable of shame.

Yes, plenty to hate about Apple … and there are still flip phoners (h/t Kate) and the renegade Android users … but DOMINATION usually means superiority and popularity. Not a bad thing. That lady (I wonder if her name is Karen) making the video is lucky that the towelhead didn’t haul out his kirpan and slice her tongue off. She certainly has a point about the sheer messiness of the place.
