Details of the inside job that was a gold heist in Peel Region, Ontario, are now emerging:
Five individuals have been arrested, charged and released, while three are wanted and one, King-Mclean, remains in custody in the United States.
It was last September when King-Mclean was pulled over in Pennsylvania on a traffic stop that police became aware of gun smuggling. After running from police on foot, King-Mclean was arrested and the vehicle he was driving was found to have 65 illegal firearms in it including automatic weapons.
Can you say Mississauga, or maybe even Peel Region? it’s not a county.
Also, those other ones that have warrants out for them have probably already fled to India, and they’ll shortly be joined the the 4 accused that have been charged and released.
“Only $89,000 worth of the $20 million of stolen gold was recovered. ” – Also not mentioned was how much cash was recovered.
“Regions” in Ontario replace counties. The function of the regional council, and the responsibilty and authority of the local municipalities, is slightly different than in a county, but the two are generally much the same.
It’s called “Peel Region” because it has so many strip clubs.
For years I thought “Pulp Fiction” had been filmed in Peel Region. Not quite so, although it is rather seedy…

The victim’s lawyer is undoubtedly lobbying for a transfer to a Canadian prison, where he’ll be paroled within 18 months maximum. Those American prisons can be rough, I’ve heard, so we wouldn’t want a good Canadian serving 35 years in a Yankee prison, would we?

Bronte does not connect with James Snow. Bronte is west Milton and James Snow is east Milton. You have to get over the 401 before you can get to James Snow. That area is the Niagara Escarpment and going south to north is tricky. Highway 25, Sixth Line, Guelph Line, heading west from Milton. James Snow is east of Highway 25.

Bronte ends at Steeles (at the John Deere dealership). They probably turned left, headed north after the round-about, went through the village of Kelso, and ended up north of the 401, about 5 minutes from my place. I’m starting to wonder why my father applied for a burnt permit around that time.
I think they meant QEW / 403 and not 401.
Assuming they’ve not (yet) been replaced by A.I. (how could one even tell the difference?), most newswriters are twentysomething Madonna Studies majors with no driver’s license, so how would they even know?

They don’t have all the players yet. You’re not going to get 65 firearms through customs on the US /Canadian border unless you have someone on your payroll there as well. A dog would pick up the scent a mile away.
They should see who King-Mclean talked with at the border when he entered the US.

In 1970, the population of what was Brampton was 21,000, give or take, white people. There is a reason why people now call it Bramladesh. I think the population of the “Peel Region” is now in excess of 600,000. I haven’t checked the stats these days, no need to. Oops, just checked it out, it is about 1,500,000. I would guess mostly “others”.
