  1. Dear Michelle
Please tell the leader of the PQ that we in the west would like to do what we can to encourage Quebec to separate and that is because we don’t want to live in a country with assholes like them that prefer foreign oil while doing whatever they can to shut down western production. Then tell him in the other official language: “feurte ta mere”. Then please tell the Spawn that if the Liberal cabinet considers the opinion of the asshole from Quebec valid and delays or kills the project then the entire Western Conservative caucus returns home and works full time on separation.

  2. Trust the BQ to start whining that Quebec doesn’t get a piece of the action, no matter where it is in the country. Of course, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Prinz Dummkopf wants to flip-flop on the approval lest it upset those who bought his election.

Anybody still convinced that we’re not seen as a colony of the Laurentian elite?

    1. No, I’m not convinced. Colony implies common values and goals. I see it more like a fiefdom, perhaps like King Leopold II and the Congo, but without the physical cruelty.

    2. Not colonialism, Imperialism.
The Spawn has stated that we are no longer a nation (thanks largely to his father), with no unifying culture or values.
So what the hell are we doing with a common central government that can’t even see past Toronto.
The west was bought from the Hudsons Bay Company, and kept in confederation by military force twice.
Hardly seems like a legitimate authority.

      1. – And again…

The Meech Lake Accord. Lyin’ Brian (the PM at the time) wanted to rehash the whole concept of federalism, so he gathered his cronies and interested Press-ties and set to work. What they came-up with was not overly inspiring, and when handed-out for a country-wide referendum, was roundly defeated everywhere, resulting in Lyin’ Brian doing his justly-infamed tear-a-piece-of-paper-in-two-on-national-television stunt. As an aside, he was 9% in the polls and plummeting when he finally handed-off to Dim Campbell. And she finished the job on the old PC’s.

One of the concepts bandied-about was the “Regional Concept”, in which Canada would split-into six largely-autonomous regions, largely self-governing, and the Federal Government would confine itself to federal matters thereafter. The concept was very popular, with 70+% approval across Canada, including in Quebec.

And Lyin’ Brian’s take on the Regional Concept? “Oh, nonononononononono… we need a STRONG central government!” Translation? – “Hey those are MY powers you ignoramuses are talking-about cutting now!”

And the only kudos I hand to Lyin’ Brian? – at least he held the conference in the first place…

      1. Buddy

As one who lives here…Its beyond me as well.

The GREAT WHITE HOPE Jason Kenney has been spectacular in doing SWEET Fk all since being Elected.

To date, with Ab sitting with a 70 Billion pile of debt, he has managed to Reduce Public Servant Numbers by ZERO. He has managed to reduce Public Serivice remuneration by ZERO. He has done Dick all on the Firewall edicts.

He has continued with the NDP’s eviserating of our CLEAN COAL industry in not halting or reversing the change over to Natural Gas. (one hiccup in delivery can put 750,000 peoples homes/businesses out of power in an instant)….W/Nat Gas there is ZERO BACK UP.

All that mouthpiece has done is open his yap….talk talk talk talk talk…n consult…all the while stating he is a Nationalist – yea with an eye on the PMO.

        WEXIT

  3. Canada is now officially canaduh ! It started with pearson and then blackie’s old man ( alleged old man ) . Toss a few goodies to Western Canada and they will shut up and stay in their place . I don’t know what it is going to take for easterners to realize just what is at stake here . I never thought I would see the day when so called canadians would vote for an idiot who’s platform included killing jobs in Western Canada but that’s exactly what happened .

    1. Bill

I can’t believe that people were stupid enough to vote for the turd OR scheep. 2 useless A-holes who together couldn’t run a drought in the sierra desert with god’s help , during dry season

    2. It started with pearson

More specifically, it began with Pearson giving in to whatever Quebec wanted because the FLQ was blowing up mailboxes.

  4. Repairing Canada will take a generation. Democracy delayed is democracy denied.

Better to separate, and Old Canada can spend the next 30 years repairing their problems, and we can build our country into something productive.

    It’s not “just the oil”

Some provinces have 1 MP for 70-80k citizens, others have 130-140k citizens for 1 MP. PEI has 40k citizens for 1 MP. This needs to be repaired, this isn’t acceptable.
    The Senate is completely broken.

It’s easier for Russia to build a pipeline across the EU than for Alberta to build one to either of our coasts.

    1. There is no repairing Canada. The plan is that in another generation the population of Canada will be 100,000,000. The intent is to get there by importing the third world. In a generation Canada will be a third world country with the Chinese, South Asian, African and Arabian people fighting over the carcass.

    2. Alberta (34 MP’s) and Sask have (14).

Combined Population of both: 5.2 Million
That equals an avg: 108,000 per MP

      PEI (4 MP)
      Population: 135,000
That equals an avg: 34,000 per MP

Perfect illustration as to why there is ZERO reason for the EAST To change any part of this beneficial arrangement whatsoever. And why the WEST will NEVER EVER have a voice. The Rallying cry aught to be: NO Taxation without Representation.

      1. To be clear steakman, I’m not advocating that we wait for Canada to right this wrong. I’m saying it’ll take a generation (at least) to repair this damage, and while democracy delayed is democracy denied… so I’m not willing to wait. This isn’t acceptable for 1 election, never mind in past elections, and possibly in the next election too if there isn’t a vote or solid move to separate from Old Canada.

This is only 1 of the many issues that shortchange Alberta and the west in general.. note that the vote representation is almost as bad in BC as well.

The west has a population equal to Quebec’s, and they have a guarantee of 3 seats on the SCOC, while they should only have 2 based on population, or NONE if the only reward was for excellence.

It’s not just “equalization” / intergenerational. welfare payments. PEI gains 20% of their gov’t revenue from producing provinces!
It’s not just oil pipelines, or carbon tax, or French on cereal boxes.

It’s our bullshit democracy. It’s broken.
… and yes, I think I’m singing to the choir here, but as Kate alludes to, “the media never asked me what I think”

  5. Not much more can be said about allowing an enemy to exist within your borders and that is what was allowed after the British conquered France and Quebec. Make no mistake they are still an enemy of Canada.

  6. I recently wrote a letter to Michelle Remple telling her that I would be voting Wexit from now on. She’s in AB and I am in BC. I voted CPC last election to have our CPC candidate elected rather than a Dipper. He was elected and I see him as someone who will ultimately make the choice of championing the West even if it meant moving to a Wexit party. At some point Western MP’s will have to choose between Wexit and the CPC. Not moving will cost them their seats. An inquiring Wexit Party will delve into the finances of this country and actual put a more accurate price tag on what it costs Westerners to be in Canada. Equalization is the obvious and seriously over simplifies the issue. Start looking at where the federal government spends their + $270 billion budget. Look at the subsidies and monopolistic favors eastern industry receive in the private sector as a matter of course. Any investigation will leave Westerners outraged.

Remple’s reaction to BQ MP’s dissing AB is somewhat naive IMHO. Quebec holding global warming as their rationale for trying to shutdown the oil industry is superficial. The BQ has a golden opportunity to promote their own independence by encouraging a east-west split. AB threatening to leave Canada has much more legs than the BQ ever getting a referendum passed in Quebec. AB can afford to leave and if they did it would destroy the rest of Canada.

Remple’s video was disappointing. Very emotional which was fine but short on the numbers. The situation is long past emotionalism. Westerners should be contacting their MP’s and MLA’s telling them that unity in the West is necessary and work has to begin on establishing Western entities to replace eastern cash drains. Kenney should be well on his way to establishing his own CPP and RCMP. That is bottom line stuff. If he thinks ‘studies’ will mollify voters he is sadly mistaken.

    1. Michelle is a good conservative, and believes in Canada, as long as it is equal.
We have had TO many years of bs from out East.

I to will no longer support the CPC. They are just liberals now. I will be voting to exit!

    2. “Very emotional … but short on the numbers.” The numerate are not the target market for this video. This is trying to reach the emotive who are innumerate. Those who don’t understand that removing power supplies that will function at -50C is dangerous and will kill people, and who think that humans are godlike being who are endangering the entire planet.

Tailor the message to the target audience. We are not the target audience. Watchers of reality TV, who consume angst, might actually become interested in Canadian politics when they see things like this.

Probably not, but I’m pretty sure that that’s who is being targeted.

  7. I read Atlas Shrugged in 1974. I was 22 and had been raised and indoctrinated along the socialist lines in Saskatchewan. That book changed my life. The parallels between Ayn Rand’s fictional depiction of the societal devolvement and it’s lurch towards socialism/totalitarianism and the western world today is eerie. The gradual enlightenment of the characters that possible change through evolution was impossible and that the only way to stop the creeping socialism was to was to withdraw their intellectual and leadership gifts to society. One by one they left and formed a better world. I had hope for Canada’s future when Harper was first elected. Over time he changed and eventually he lost. It was death by a thousand cuts. His replacement is an intellectual and moral failure. There is little doubt in my mind that he is not in charge but people like Wesley Mouch (Gerald Butts) are pulling his strings.

I am familiar with the framework for change in Canada. Any change must be approved by 7 out of 10 provinces representing 50% of the population. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE CHANGE WITHIN CANADA! The only chance for change is to leave. Slowly people like Michelle are realizing that staying in Canada is more of the same. They go through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Michelle is an angry bargainer right now. She might even be a little depressed. In the not too distant future she will accept the inevitable (as I have) that we have to leave. This is the path that everyone will have to travel until we get our new country.

  8. Nothing will happen until the West gets serious with a creditable threat to leave Canada. Canada is done. Let’s get on with WEXIT.

  9. I have been listening to the debate about whether or not the new leader of the CPC needs to be able to speak French. IMNSH opinion, he needs about three phrases: “Get Stuffed!”, “Please Leave” or “Drop Dead” (or similar sentiments).

But that’s just one disgusted Westerner.

  10. If you want to get Quebec politicians to shut up and get on board, you need to get their voters to demand it.
And the only way their voters will demand it is to get them Personally involved. And the only way to do this is to throttle or shut the taps off from Alberta

Only then when they have little or no gas to run their automobiles, or Natural gas to heat their homes or Propane to run their farms will they get involved.

Nothing short of that will work as we have seen in the last 4 or 5 years. All the talking in the world won’t achieve anything with these Political Elite as we have seen and experienced.

Jason was elected to spring into action, right now I’m pretty disappointed in his lack of action so far. Grow some gonads Jason…

  11. Rempel sez that Alberta generates the wealth for the country.
Heh …. Like the “Liberals” care, they are sucking the country into the black hole of 26.6 Billion deficit. https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/12/17/19/canada-predicts-slower-growth-deficit-to-climb-in-2020

It seems or in fact it is so that the plebeians have no say, no influence what so ever, none, 0, nada.
Whether it comes to the free spending that is 100% without any common sense reason or shutting down your basic free expression, opinions and the only outlet where the plebeians can publicly, without censorship of the mass media cartel, criticize the ruling class that includes the politicians, the mass media cartel and assorted proclaimed “experts”.

The feeling is that the input of plebeian is completely and utterly irrelevant since he is not an “expert” on his finances, raising children and his daily life.

One can understand that the “experts” would have to look for a productive, lifesaving work if the politicians, the mass media cartel did not call on them to abdicate their own responsibility for common sense, good governance and reporting the actual truth, to put the onus for these tasks to the “experts” to the out of their responsibilities.

    Rempel simply complains.
She is in charge and it is incumbent on her to argue and get results.
What the Quebec freeloaders say or do, while should be made public and seriously demolished, is to irritate and promote their fascism.
It appears as though there is no conservative plan other than “social warrior syndrome” as a replacement for a program to set people free and prosperous.
As it is, the free and prosperous are those that contribute nothing to the country.

  12. When Michelle’s video appeared on FB someone (it might have been me) commented that the time for talk was past. It was time for blood in the streets, and blood in the House of Commons.

    Will we see any?

    1. A remarkably irresponsible post.
You, and others that think like you, will be the reason WEXIT fails, if it does.

I judge by the collective comments above that Christia Freeland, Deputy PM and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, is out of her depth. I’m not sensing any unity improvement. Or perhaps she is working a plan, along with Justupid? She may yet though, have her limo driven to Calgary as she flies out to “inspire” everyone.

  13. As has been pointed out elsewhere, Kazakhstan, which is also landlocked, has had better success getting pipelines built and its oil exported to market by dealing with Russia, China and Iran than Alberta has had dealing with B.C., Ottawa and Quebec. The Canada thing is busted beyond repair. Time to recognize reality, end the charade and break it up.

  14. how does the total in transfer payments to equalization add up to the potential opening bid on what the west, aka AB SK and MB, owes canada. my starting negotiating position is we have already paid our portion of the national debt through the equalization payments and we will keep any federal assets now in the west thank you.

We have to start setting our negotiating points and get ready. I believe the laurentian elites may just do something to make wexit happen really fast and soon.

  15. I am feeling a new sense of urgency.
    Independence already.
If we go about this separation from our needy eastern cousins in a sensible and rational matter,we will miss the best part of doing so.
Making a Trudeau negotiate the breakup of Can Ahh Duh.
We need to up our game, forget reason, due process and proper steps, time is running out.
we need to take a lesson from the Democrats and go all out hate..

    Oh right,maybe not.
Kenny should have realized by now, there are no serious people in power to play federalist with.
The only political gain he can make here is to mercilessly mock the Hair Apparent and the clapping seals who surround it.

  16. Separation:
I guess people are feeling a little bit leery regarding their pensions whether they are Provincial or Federal how this is going to pan out. I guess it is the uncertainty of it all…well laid plans help solve this problem but we all need to be included in the plan and on the same page for separation if it is going to work! And Kenny needs to get off his A$$!

  17. In 1982, demented old Pierre Trudeau boasted about his coup d’etat over English Canada with this:

“We have all the aces. We’ve got right of disallowance; we’ve got the right of reservation; we’ve got declaratory power, we’ve got expropriatory power under peace order and good government; we’ve got the entrenchment of both official languages, which can never be removed; we’ve got French in the educational system of all the English provinces.”

So it’s a total waste of time to try and change the present lop-sided, totalitarian system.

Better to take the advice of John Stuart Mill who said:
“When society requires to be rebuilt, there is no use in attempting to rebuild it on the old plan.”

    Enjoy!
