  1. Trump’s speech was brilliant. It was audacious and daring … finally, a leader with balls.

  2. I watched this evening’s proceedings on Youtube.
Ivanka Trump made a good introduction, and Trump spoke for the better part of an hour. Wow!

  3. As a committed conservative, I still find myself really torn. It’s obvious to me that it has to be Trump for president, but only because his opponent is considerably worse.
But I still think he has no foundational principles and that many of his policies will be counter-productive. He’s also going to be up against an entrenched democrat bureaucracy and sheer frustration from not being able to enact policy – as he could and would within a corporate structure may cause him to quickly lose interest in the job.
Hope I’m wrong, but a zebra doesn’t change stripes.

  4. CNN sock-puppets all spoke and condemned his DARK speech. HOW DARE HE speak the truth!!!
Love him or hate him he has a history of surrounding himself with the best people and ACTUALLY getting things done. The FACT is the status quo is on the verge of collapsing the USA and most other western nations – morally, financially. Not sure what, other than a complete collapse, it will take to get people to see how close we are or that the bought and paid for politicians (ie. THE GVMNT) IS the problem. I’m just not sure Trump has the power to do half the things, as a businessman, he knows needs to be done to slow the crash so it is not as catastrophic as it likely will be if nothing is done. Clinton meanwhile is promising more of the same and even wurst (sic). She’s so interested in her own power and wealth I doubt she even knows what the deficit is this year. Just what her cut was.

  5. I watched it and I like what I heard. Most western and European leaders initially treated him as a bit of a joke and said things that will probably come around to bite them. Half of the Hollywood elite threatened to move to Canada if he became POTUS. At this point it looks like they better start packing.

  6. The only thing “dark” about Trump’s speech was that it gave an accurate picture of reality. Make’s Trudeau’s “sunny ways” seem naive, ignorant and out of touch.

  7. In the end, it all comes down to the fact that even a dog turd would be a better president than Hitlery…

  8. Ivanka set up a Trump dynasty….Hillary was effectively indited…Crony Capitalism on trial
The establishment of the Republican Party gone….Ailes of FOX is gone (He was the BUSH connection)… FOX will be free of Republican systematic destruction of Trump (they would have sold out to Hillary).
CNN are in panic, Van Jones sees nothing for BLM, Rubio’s chubby is mad a hell that Hispanics get nothing…Rubio, Cruz, Kasick were hoping for 2020, but Ivanka is miles ahead
Philly is going to get ugly unless Hillary gives them everything they want…She will choke on the crap.
The Media will be easy to counter…Hillary has nothing, but character assassination. The biggest mistake of Obama was Hillary (Judicial Corruption)
He didn’t end by saying “Your Fired Obama & take Hillary with you”

  9. Watched his excellent speech. Ballsy, truthful, and to the point. Even took a few shots at us, as he knows we have the equivalent CC (chief crook) here as they have in Obummer/Billary. All three have the work/life experience as a kindegarten kid. Unfortunately, the Donald will have the same entrenched bureaucracy of thieves as we have. It will be an uphill battle for sure.

  10. A great speech, imbued with a spirit of including all Americans in this vision for America. Dump PC, he says and that crowd cheered. Stand with faggots, even dangerous ones, he says (#freemilo) and they cheered. And then he acknowledged that cheer. That moment sealed the deal. His daughter made it clear in a really good speech, that her dad cares about merit, judging by the content of your character. Can you do the job, yes or no.
Can’t wait for the barrage aimed at Hillary Clinton.

  11. I only heard the last little bit of it, and it sounded typically ‘wooden’, ‘shallow’, and stilted. And I am a Trump supporter. The last 5 min. of his speech didn’t inspire me. Just the same old hollow promises and stock tag lines.
However I just read the entire transcript of Peter Thiel’s short speech … and I was bowled-over. I would not hesitate to vote HIM the FIRST GAY (that we know of) POTUS ! Talk about giant swinging balls ! Anyone who can ‘openly’ navigate Silicon Valley as an ‘outed’ conservative is MY GUY ! He didn’t even hide in the open as a Democrat … a closeted Republican … nope. He has the conviction of his calling to proudly proclaim his conservative beliefs.
Talk about BRAVE, talk about being a MINORITY. THIEL is a TRUE REBEL. A man who SEES the destruction of our economy by globalism and government waste. He sees NASA devolve into a social science horror show, shilling for Global Warming and wasting our resources. Thiel will restore America’s greatness if given a chance. THIEL 2020 !!

  12. I didn’t tune in, but the comments here are exactly as expected. Trump supporters universally agree it was the best speech by anyone ever. Trump opponents universally agree it was the worst speech by anyone ever. The few rational people thought about it, filtered it through everything they have ever experienced, commented accordingly.

  13. Yeah, maybe “wooden”, but it’s better to have the truth told that way then the flourishing oratory of the liar by the name of Obama. Obama is nothing but a smooth talking snake oil salesman. The sooner dirtbags like that are gone the better.

  14. After all the crap that has gone on with the banks, the cops, the Muslims, the illegals…how could any american not vote for this guy…
for all the cry babies who worry about NAFTA….have no fear …many many many many people have stated its mexico he wants out he has no issue with Canada…for real but beleive what you want i am working in USA on a tn visa now and i have 0 fear. so cry wolf ….but i can tell you he wants to get rid of the under cutting and the surplus of bodies in his country that’s all ….Canada we play by the rules we work hard and pay and spend in USA he loves that we open businesses in america …tell me one just one Mexican business that is opened in USA ? taco bell does not count….just kidding..it does but give me 5 …

  15. Kenji You need to hear Trumps whole speach:
Trump defied the Republican platform in his support of Gays… Thiel is just the first
of the California (Hillary’s) money tree to swing… Trump trusted the delegates and they delivered without knowing what was at stake….
Magnificent Bastard cut her money tree down! Kohn is freaking

  16. He made 47 million liberal heads explode simultaneously, and sent 35 million snowflakes to their safe spaces.
    That part was good.
I don’t know how credible some of his promises really are. The wall? What about the Rio Grande? That’s half the border. I think you could suppress illegal immigration more effectively with beefed up patrols and selected barriers in high traffic areas.
A rapid defeat of ISIS? Okay, bring that on. It might not be as easy as it sounds. They can melt in, move about, reappear. Also there’s the problem of facing sequential opponents, Al Qaeda, ISIS, ???? next stage — and how do you prevent that?
Returning jobs? That ship may have sailed a generation ago. I think there are things he can do that will partially fulfill that promise and it will be better than nothing, but he’s holding out hope for very intangible almost counter-intuitive ends.
Standing up to China and other lawless bad actors is long overdue of course, but we should therefore expect them to make even more trouble than they make now, for us. That is going to complicate matters in Canada, already halfway to becoming a de facto colony of the PRC (think that’s bull? visit BC some time).
For me, the main reason to support Trump is just that even a weak portion of his brand would be considerably better than what we can expect from HRC, more divisive magic unicorn politics, race baiting, with a new gender emphasis and that awful screeching voice that sends me rushing for the remote every time she stumbles into view.
Well, Trump has a good chance of doing what Romney and McCain failed to do. All he needs to do now is find five million more voters than the Democrats, and he’ll win by five hundred.

  17. About Sally Kohn, she should look at the liberal collages and the Black Lives Matter group that are demanding segregation before she comments on her perceived notions that Trump is using bigotry to sell prosperity.

  18. All the pure conservatives got elected by the people and did nothing, just gave Obama anything he wanted. So much for ideological purity. So the establishment, the political class, got poked in the eye. Trump will meet bureaucratic resistance but he will operate as the chief executive.

  19. This is off-topic, but does anyone else think that Tom Clark’s twitter image looks like Farrah Fawcett?

  20. He did leave one thing out of his speech.
After eight years the media will be free to criticise the POTUS without fear of retribution under a Trump presidency.

  21. Bad days for the protesters, More of the media showed up than Trump protesters.
Wow!… ‘Dozens’ of people chanted ‘Love Trumps Hate’
But my all time favorite is when a flag burning idiot protester caught himself and others on fire.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUkivAhTsxU
Hillary and George Soros wasted their money on this Clown Show.
I am still laughing.. And voting for Trump..

  22. At this point I wouldn’t even have to hold my nose to vote for Trump. The US needs what he’s offering, the world needs the same. He is talking like the right man for the job at this time. Actually we have such a weak “leader” right here in Canada we need him too, to show contrast, to highlight just how stupid our voters can be.

  23. I don’t need inspiration from any politician, I want action to reverse this idiotic socialist pc bs that has enveloped north America.

  24. A very businesslike speech. There was something for everyone except crooks, whiners and
    globalists.

  25. Jon Stewart wont reach anyone outside the already converted. But the stridency is interesting and troubling.
At this stage both sides are digging in with candidates who are a deeply disliked and distrusted by the other side….I know isn’t that how it always is, not to this level. I have never seen a US election where the negatives on both sides is so high. This does not bode well for the future but this is the environment that exists.
Problem is Trump is closer to Sanders than the left or the right care to admit. A “tell”, absolutely. I believe there is concern that Trump could eat into those voters. It is as much driven by the dislike of their own candidate as it is fear of Trump.
While there are not enough white male voters to win with just them, it makes you wonder if that crazy bastard has decided risk the loss of votes to gain those rust belt states where those voters are. I find it hard to believe he can win New York. I do believe he could squeak out a win or he is going to get decimated. Hillary is one of the worst candidates I have ever seen….this is why they go negative and go crazy. There is nothing positive to say about Hillary.
One way or another this election will lead to more strife in the US as neither side wants nor likes the others candidate at such a deep and visceral level.
    Mess.

  26. If a politician cannot run balanced books then he is full of BS. I don’t know whether Trump can or not. I know Clinton cannot.

  27. Colbert, Stewart, shrug. Wouldn’t know them from Billy Kaputnik. Just a few more croaking arseholes among the hundreds in the Great North American Entertainment Swamp.
Hillary and Trump are part of it too. A lying weasel cloaked in see-through ethics and a billionaire buffoon pretending he has empathy and wisdom. Yet the crowds roar for more.
And on this side of the border, Tinkerbell: an effete little tit, too shallow and too stupid to be humble about his glaring limitations.

  28. They kept asking for a serious, substantive speech from Trump and when they get it it is too dark and too long! For sure Trump is no Reagan or someone else with some intellectual depth, but he is what is needed now for the Herculean task of cleaning up Washington.
The elites and the media have their gated communities and good money on tap, but the lower middle class and middle class are suffering.

  29. Trump should have fun playing with “Tinkerbell”/Shiny Pony…it may be our bonus from a Trump presidency, man vs toy boy.

  30. To fully appreciate the content of Trump’s speech, and of the man, you need to hear three speeches from last night, in order. They were presented 1,2,3. Tom Barrack, who sets the stage for Trump the man, then Ivanka (what a powerhouse this girl is) who sets the stage for who Trump is a family man, and who the Trump Organization is as a business, then the slow rolling boil of Trump himself, who pulled no punches whatsoever. All three speeches form a “sales” package. People who have doubts about what Trump can do simply have no experience in the high powered, high energy, high stakes business world. And anyone who doubts that Trump doesn’t mean what he says he will do, would do well not to find themselves in the way of his freight train. Trump’s biggest obstacle as President will be that cannot just as easily fire people in govt as can be done in the private sector, but then, he believes in putting the most competent in control – he’ll let them do their job.
Will he accomplish all he’ll set out to do? No. Will he serve notice to a lot of squishes, both inside and outside the country, that there is a new sheriff in town? Absolutely.

  31. “Trump should have fun playing with “Tinkerbell”/Shiny Pony…it may be our bonus from a Trump presidency, man vs toy boy.”
Indeed. And our pathetic media is poised, drooling over the keyboards:
Act 1, Scene 3 – In which Bully frightens Baby and Baby’s supporters cry “Not Fair”

  32. As I sit here in the Trump 2016 T-Shirt, I find the didn’t hear it all and looks good on paeper; maybe I won’t have to hold my nose.surprising.

  33. Trump won’t have a lot of time for PM Selfie and that won’t necessarily be a plus for Canada. I do think it’s Trump or the US is done. That said, I have huge(to use a Trump word) concerns. His views on trade and his country’s role in trading relations is simplistic and mostly wrong-headed. I watched Trump interviewed by Feherty and was struck by his lack of noblesse oblige. I thought rich guys were supposed to have more tact when discussing their alleged business acumen.

  34. BTW.. I didn’t miss that sack of dog shit..Carl Rove. He knows how to lose..and lose.. and lose…GW Bush went out with his tail between his legs, he may be in Philly advising Hillary & Obama.

  35. “All the pure conservatives got elected by the people and did nothing, just gave Obama anything he wanted.”
All of them. They all got elected.
“Trump will meet bureaucratic resistance but he will operate as the chief executive.”
He will, eh. And you’ve got some inside information. Pretty sweet having the ear of the Donald.
Trump is a politician. He has used politicians for the advancement of his empire. He will continue to do so. He uses rhetoric like the best of them. If anyone thinks he will be the saviour of America’s decline into socialism, they will be as disappointed as those who put their trust in the hope and change thingy.

  36. I agree. I also liked what I heard. Trump may a bit of an unknown quantity, but better that than a lying crooked accomplice to murder. Anything to poke the establishment of both parties in the eye, including the Rhino scum.
    I would vote for Trump.

  37. I think you misunderstood Robert.
He will absolutely meet bureaucratic resistance as will he meet Congressional resistance. Suddenly, the Cucks will remember the 10th Amendment and will clutch their “separation of powers” pearls.

  38. Not that it’s really important, but Taco Bell was started by a guy named Don Bell. I’m too lazy to look it up, but I believe it was in Kansas (Wichita?). Taco Bell is in no way a Mexican business.

  39. We have a leader? I thought he was like Charlie McCarthy to Gerald Butthead’s Edgar Bergen.

  40. Not surprisingly, the reaction to his speech by the MSM was, at best, tepid, such as the headlines I saw on the “Mop and Pail”‘s website this morning.
What surprised me, though, was the comments I heard on the podcasts of last night’s “John Batchelor Show”. Some went as far as to say that it was a *terrible* speech.

  41. Jamie, please enlighten us: just how rich and intelligent are you, that you can call a billionaire a “buffoon”? The guy worked in construction, which is one place where “that’s close enough”, or “put some spackle on it” will always come back to bite you. People have called Trump’s properties garish and classless, but they have never called them “shoddily built”.
When you build anything more than a tent, you have to have a solid foundation. Trump realizes that’s true in politics as well. I spent a lot of time in the Philippines, and the biggest thing holding that country back – full of decent, hard-working people, most of whom speak English, with a lot of ties to the US, one might think it would be prosperous – is the lack of law and order, and the overwhelming corruption that reaches into every barrio. Without law and order, and trust in government, you can’t accomplish anything. Law and order is the foundation of the English speaking world, and it’s why England’s colonies have succeeded and prospered, while those of France and Spain stagnated.
Undocumented immigration is a three-fold attack on a country’s foundation. First, it directly attacks the rule of law, as the illegals thumb their noses at those who waited in line for legal admittance. Second, it disrupts labour markets, driving down wages. Third, it erodes the social contract, as the ‘safety net’ is provided with the understanding that people use it temporarily and then get back on the beam, working and paying taxes to support others during their bad times. You may want to see your country erode from underneath you; I don’t, and neither does Trump.

  42. Todd Van der Haven at CTV News Channel never ceases to disappoint.
Immediately following the speech, Todd and his guests, Scott (Beer and Popcorn) Reid and the sellout Adrian Battra, branded the speech as “Angry”. He was sooooo angry! The talking heads nodded in agreement.
Just curious when HRC gives her acceptance speech next week using the same tone and delivery, these yahoos at CTV will probably laud the speech as “Firey, and full of passion.”
I yearn for the day these talking head clowns of the media elitist party eat their own mudpies, especially Sally Kohn. Sally? You’re scared, Sally? That’s a good start.

  43. The reality is that much of what Trump claims he will do is undo-able. As I know many others were, I was waiting to see the meat in the sandwich he keeps selling us. In fairness, campaigning politicians rarely divulge ALL the details of how they will accomplish their promises. But, Trump is making some truly wild promises.
Stop ISIS immediately, sure no prob.
Renegotiate ALL trade agreements to America’s advantage, easy as pie.
Remove regulations stunting employment, sure, bunkered federal and state bureaucrats everywhere will gladly unravel all the stifling red-tape they have designed to keep themselves richly employed over the decades.
Stop or seriously curtail violent crime in America, good freakin’ luck with that. I think many blacks will ratchet up the violence with a Trump presidency. You know the media will double-down on it’s fear-mongering and do all it can to cause dissent. Unless he wants to revamp drug laws, he had better be talking building many new prisons too.
Deporting all illegal aliens will take forever and the development of a new department or two. There are 10’s of millions to be vetted.
Banning Muslims at the border will NOT work easily either…. Are you a Muslim? NO…. (allah akbar whispered). Alright, you’re in then. And how do you exile Muslim-American citizens that have broken no law and no evidence exists of radicalization? These people are AMERICAN CITIZENS, despite what I think of their sick religion. And, it will require thousands of new bureaucrats to run that new department too.
So, why would I support a candidate who I believe can’t do what he says? Because he is not a career politician, he is a career businessman. I believe that many of Trump’s positions are not carved in stone and seem radical to many because they are negotiation STARTING POSITIONS. If you are only willing to pay $25,000 for a car a dealer wants $30,000 for, you had better not be too timid to offer $20,000 to start. If you want serious protection at the US/Mexico border, you start by talking a gigantic wall. That is the only way to convince the Dems they are getting their way when they agree to some walls and heavily increased security. That is how you negotiate. We need an outsider like Trump to remind these stupid f*cking parties that COMPROMISE is how the US government was designed to function.
I also have to comment on Cruz’s behavior. I congratulate him fully on outing himself at the convention as being the bitter little prick he is. He talks with the cadence of an evangelist preacher and his words are equally empty. Trump’s name was on the original candidate list so he is a lying sack of sh*t for backing out of his oath. I’m supposed to be impressed by a man who puts a slight against his wife ahead of the future of his nation? F*ck him, he’s a PC Dem/Rep hiding in Rep clothing. He clearly demonstrated a loyalty to the GOP establishment while spitting in the face of the MAJORITY of right-minded voters.
Then, there is CNN. These people are f*cking slime and are CLEARLY pro-Hillary and anti-Donald. They and their MSM cohorts are the true sellers of hate and intolerance in America. Their continued support of the cop-killing BLM makes me sick. They ARE the televangilists of the politically correct left, which like any evangelist, decries anyone who disagrees with them as some kind of evil heretic. Of course Donald’s speech seemed DARK to the media. He showed them the harsh realities they do not want their minions to know exist.
