The Inner Circle

Yesterday, the CBC’s Grand Poobah Peter Mansbridge wrote about the difficulties he encountered in trying to gain access, as a diligent newsman, to the “inner Trudeau circle” for the purposes of doing “an ‘access’ documentary” of the new Prime Minister.
Uh-oh: Turns out there’s some, uhh, footage from 2005 showing Peter Mansbridge officiating at the wedding of Justin Trudeau’s Director of Communications.
Yup, it’s so hard for the CBC to get access to the Liberal inner circle these days.

Update: The Toronto Sun has picked up the story.

  1. Is the media in the Liberals’ pocket or are the Liberals in the medias’ pocket? And let’s see the ticket that should be issued for failure to wear seatbelts, after all, nobody is above the law…

  2. And this is why the government has no business owning or funding media outlets. Can you say, “Ministry of Propaganda”?

  3. The whole LPC/Laurentian/Media/Ottawa/UN ruling Clique is just one big incestuous ball of profligate nepotism and subterfuge.

Shuttle through to 13Min, where Monkton makes it clear the media was recruited by UMN globalists to take out Abbot and Harper – our media IS the 5th column of global Marxism.

  4. I just do not understand this website’s preoccupation with a newsgathering organization that no one watches. Yeah, I know it wastes a lot of money and needs to be defunded yesterday. Do you really just watch it and get worked up about it to become annoyed? What a silly waste of time! Ignore it!

  5. Why should we or anyone ignore a gov’t operation that takes money from our paycheques ?
I think that would be foolish.

  6. “What a silly waste of time! Ignore it!”
Any other billion-dollar wastes you’d like us to ignore?

  7. I don’t watch/listen/pay attention, but low information voters do watch it. The propaganda is insidious; even I need to keep my filters active.

  8. I bet a million Pete Mansbridge expense accounted the trip to Italy to officiate the Liberal wedding

  9. Although very few people watch the CBC, the people that do watch it are the ones who set the tone for all the other media and social media outlets. It’s like twitter, barely anyone is on it yet it has huge reach. Basically all socialist cheerleaders get their marching orders from CBC and the Toronto Star.

  10. “Do you really just watch it and get worked up about it to become annoyed?”
    Yes.
And then they come to SDA to gripe about “the media”, or one of the 12 other things (the Obama administration, the Liberal Party, the NDP, environmentalists, Muslims, “experts”, public transit, organic farming, the Humane Society, feminists, young people, Californians) that constitute the complete and infinitely repeating playlist of SDA gripes.
And they do this every single day. For the past eleven years.

  11. If you think the Cbc is bad, try Radio Canada. Plus they shill for separatism. Never been a good word for the federal government, much less Harper.
That’s quite a list of topics including Obama. What are we supposed to talk about since we are shut out of pretty well all the media and surrounded by progressive clowns, our favourite recipes?

  12. Anyone who trusts one word these mediocracy Liberals say is not very bright. They got away with it so they don’t care. Many people are boycotting the so-called mainstream media. They are dying dinosaurs anyway who managed one more snort before going to the boneyard. They are the reason we need a grassroots campaign to drown out their biased and unethical message.

  13. You forgot aboriginals, welfare recipients, Global Warming, unions, civil servants, homosexuals, the gun registry, long form census, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth May, the physically and/or mentally impaired, kittens, small dog breeds, letter carriers, etc.
If you insist on coming on this forum to showcase your moral and intellectual superiority, try to keep up to speed.
It’s truly a vile and terrible place to visit. I guess that’s why you’re here “every single day. For the past eleven years.”
