A gun registry by any other name….

Trust me on this, they are not clear in their words but clear in their intentions.

Just read the Liberal platform released today, to find out. Make sure to read between the lines though otherwise you could misunderstand his plans for law-abiding gun owners.
Tom Mulcair and the NDP aren’t much different. He has actually said it but likes to add that they’ll do it differently than the Liberals did.

  1. They may not be “clear’ in their language regarding guns NOW, but anyone with a functioning memory well remember Liberal and NDP rhetoric in the past.
    https://nfa.ca/election-2011-context-synopsis
Here’s a good synopsis on the agendas of all three Parties ,from the 2011 election.
To put it simply, both the NDP and Liberals are NOT in favor of firearms in private hands, and if they had the authority would bring in laws akin to those in Britain or Australia, making it damned near impossible for the average person to own guns, let alone use them for hunting.
But they know that in Canada a Politician has to move his agenda forward discretely, so if we elect either a NDP,Liberal or Coalition of the two, expect: a new more intrusive Long Gun registry, more guns prohibited, a BIG raise in P.A.L fees and much more difficulty in obtaining a PAL.
The early 90’s Liberals championed the idea of forcing legit gun owners to have to store their guns at a central location, and pick them up for use, such as hunting, no doubt with a permit required each time, expect this or worse to occur within one term.
The early 70’s Dippers were more open about their anti-gun agenda, maybe because at that time loads of old communists gave up on that nowhere Party and decided to join a Party of fellow travellers. They were quite vocal in their anti-gun rhetoric, but have since soft pedalled their true feelings.
Funny how both communists and Muslims believe it’s perfectly acceptable to lie for the cause, totalitarians of a feather, and all that…
But a vote today for either the NDP or Liberals is a vote for the de facto end of our right to own firearms.

  2. I guess here in the US our gun rights came about because we got sick of the British in the 18th century and fought them. Canada, NZ, Australia became independent w/o firing a shot. These are still are among the best 10 countries in the world but we are deteriorating fast.
Our red states are easy on guns. I got my concealed carry permit with ease. In NYC you practically have to be a billionaire or a celebrity to get a gun license.
You have had a decent PM for many years but it looks like that airhead Frat Boy Trudeau might be your next PM. That would be a shame for Canada. he is as evil as Obama or damn near.

  3. Do like the residents of the states of New York and Conneticutt did and refuse to register your guns tell the liberal demacratic govnors of these two states to GO POUND SAND the same with their politicians and with Obama the Fink and the wretched Union Nations and traitors like John Kerry,Bill and Hillary Clinton as well and tell wealthy leftists reptiles like George Soros to Go Back to where you came from

  4. And make no mistake about it, they want ALL your semi-autos, not just the “assault weapons”. They have lately been focused on anything semi-automatic being inherently evil. So that means your semi-auto Winchester duck gun, your semi-auto Remington deer rifle, and your semi-auto Ruger .22. They are ALL going to be banned outright. No grandfathering. As they have both said, they are just too dangerous for the public to own. They can’t be more clear in their intent.

  5. I can’t believe this is happening again. What a waste of taxpayers money…this whole election is about spending taxpayer money to get votes from the controlling do-gooders of society. And they think Harper is controlling! We already have strict gun laws. Aren’t you required to lock up your guns, lock up the triggers, keep your ammo separate, register hand guns, go through background checks, get permits to move restricted guns, and you can’t buy ammo unless you have a firearms permit etc. etc. Gone are the days when you could mail order a gun…and it seems we didn’t have as much violence then as we do now. I remember one legislator saying that it’s more important to address the issue of illegal guns coming into this country. I’ll bet the Port of Vancouver is guilty of this… as is Montreal… And signing on to the UN’s database request…what crap…have the Chinese, the Russians, the Mexicans, Saudis etc done this…it’s insane. It’s a make work project…and a waste of hard earned taxpayer dollars. Saint Justin and Tommy have wool for brains. By the way I don’t own a gun but there have been rifles in my family for years and no one has shot anyone yet!

  7. There is enough circumstantial evidence to support the idea of either left wing authoritarian regime starting a second legislative cleansing of their political enemies, the lawful gun owner.
I believe there is enough distrust in their motives and lack of support for C-68 rev 2.0 that there is no hope of even 50% compliance. The public is tired of this political scapegoat of gun control being used to cover up left wing inability to deal with violent criminals.

  8. Liberals want to ban guns, they may as well vote to ban free speech, the right to association, and the right to personal property while they’re at it.

  9. *
“they may as well vote to ban free speech”
already have, my friend… it’s called the “human rights tribunal”
and you can ask comedian guy earle about that.

  10. The Conservative brain trust in their war room have neglected to point out what Brian Lilley does in this video. This will cost them both votes and seats.
If the NDP hadn’t come out in favour of $15/day daycare to include terrorists, the Conservatives would be in worse trouble.
Just in Trudeau tried to slander Stephen Harper by claiming he’s in the pocket of the gun lobby but only in the French debate in his attempt to pander to the cultural Marxists around Montreal.
If there was an actual “gun lobby” in Canada they would have ads running pointing out what Brian Lilley does about the NDP/Liberal committment to another long, gun registry under another name.
If there was a “gun lobby” the issue of the High River Raids would be an issue, too.
Just in Trudeau gives token lip service to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms but as a “progressive” cultural Marxist, he doesn’t really believe it applies to all equally.

  11. Reverend Ken @ 4:14 PM “The last long gun registry had 97% noncompliance, I wonder if that will happen again.”
I figure for every long gun registered last time an owner hid 1-2 of his most expensive guns anticipating confiscation – the compliance rate was so low Rock twisted the teats of some fartcatcher in the RCMP stats dept. to down size the official number of firearms estimated to be out there to more closely match the low compliance levels – I saw them downsize these gun owner numbers 3 times.
These days Rock is kept busy turning his small empire of U of O into an Orwellian dystopia.

  12. “they may as well vote to ban free speech, the right to association, and the right to personal property while they’re at it.”
Ugh, like they haven’t done it already.

  13. There will be less compliance than there was the last time. This is prelude to confiscation and new world order feudal system for the plebs. That would be … us.

  14. Why not guns?
These leeches have never had any respect for other peoples property and never will until we apply their logic to their property.
As both the NDP and these Leftwing Liberals believe theft is A-OK for government, it is only fair that everything they possess be stolen and destroyed.
This is fair. And “Fairness” is their watchword.
As I know there will no money to fund the “retirement” I have been paying for, paying excessive premiums(taxes) for, My retirement plan will be to select a Liberal Judge as my new best friend.
I will be guaranteed 3 squares a day and a roof overhead.Colour TV, heat and medical services.. all the things I can barely afford today as a well paid tradesman.

  15. We just heard that in San Francisco, the last gun-shop is closing because of stipulations that anyone buying a handgun must be video-taped doing so and that all ammo sales must be recorded. The owner says that he refuses to put his customers through such a procedure. Of course, San Fran is a Sanctuary City (so called) despite the 2nd ammendment of their constitution, guaranteeing the right to bear arms! I myself had a visit from the police because someone had said that I made racist and threatening remarks. After the officer checked my license and hand guns, he said he couldn’t tell me who had made the accusations, but being as they couldn’t give specific examples, of the accusations made, he didn’t take it seriously. Said he saw nothing in the accusations and left. Still, my name is out there somewhere in their reports – on the say-so of someone who thinks that no one should own guns. Beware the Liberals and the socialists in the upcoming election.

  16. “Gone are the days when you could mail order a gun…”
Umm no. Had an AR15 delivered directly to my door by Canada Post.
My latest 1911 came directly from Sask. to my door by the lovely folks at C.P.
