Falling oil prices will temporarily weaken the Russian and Iranian positions vis a vis the forces supported by the Gulf Emirates. It will also diminish logistical support for Assad in Syria. The administration finds itself in an accidental position of strength. US domestic oil production which it has tried so hard to discourage, has inadvertently given it a trump card.
But does it know what to do with it? The administration has not been able to press its advantages because it did not realize low oil prices would be an advantage in the first place. And even if they realized they had an ace in the hole, they have no idea what they want in the first place.

Four Secretaries of Defense since 2008? Either they were all dismal (probably true in the case of Hagel and Panetta), or the Obama administration has a real problem with the entire portfolio. And if they were all dismally bad, that’s Obama’s fault to for picking dolts. Fernandez is absolutely right. Lazy and stupid as he was, Hagel was fired for pointing out the incoherence in the Obama foreign policy, specifically Syria.

The ironies abound here. The Obama administration handed a strategic upper hand by an oil industry which it has actively tried to suppress is probably the biggest.

America, with its less efficient government, also makes fewer deliberate mistakes. If the current administration doesn’t blow up the world it may find itself master of all it surveys. In its victory it might well say, “you didn’t build that”.

Wondering if this Administration will act on its accidental advantage presupposes that Obama is positively interested in US interests when his actions have consistently demonstrated otherwise. Why do pundits continue to assume that he is not aware of the consequences of his actions or is incompetent when simply by checking ones premise, it all makes sense. Is it so hard to accept a POTUS who lies through his teeth every time he speaks? He has been a particularly transformative POTUS when it comes to moving towards a progressive dystopia at home and world chaos abroad.
The US electorate committed suicide 6 years ago and repeated the same treatment 2 years ago. How conscious they were in doing so is debatable but irrelevant.

Newt’s main campaign point was “$2 gallon of gas” which he said could be accomplished by increasing oil production; which, would grow the economy as an intended consequence. The Dems painted him as ‘out of touch’ because POTUS ‘doesn’t have the power to affect oil prices’.
I touted Newt as the best option for the GOP in 2012; but, his poor campaigning and mitt’s large bankroll, prevented the only straight talking politician(minus Sarah Palin) from winning the White House. It is fair to say that there would be NONE of this racial turmoil we are witnessing today if Newt was POTUS(SP would have been his VP btw); as Newt is and was very successful speaking to moderates, and minority communities.

Ironically, a large % of the voters who predict Trudeau WILL be the next PM won’t be voting for the Liberals, but instead the NDP.

You are grossly underestimating the problem America has with race. Does the name Jeremiah White ring a bell? How about Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson?
You do know that Obama got 97% of the Black vote both times, regardless of who the GOP candidate would have been, it would have broken exactly the same because, Obama.

In summation, I believe that Obama has created the racial strife in America’s news rooms and in the media. Bush Jr did not have this problem. I live in the Phoenix area and I’ve seen absolutly no racial disharmony in the real world. In other words… its all fabricated. So, if we had a leader who shot straight, and called the MSM to task, I don’t think this false meme would prevail.
