Late last week British Prime Minister David Cameron said “nein” to a new treaty that would have taken even more power away from the people of the UK and their elected officials. Of course, balking at more integration with the failing socialist behemoth gained him much admonition from those in the collective but now Britain is free to forge a new path. But perhaps historians will view Mr. Cameron much more favourably:

    Good for Cameron, looks like he has a bit of a spine. I wonder what the story would be if Blair was still there..

    I’m not going to get into a long long missive, but you need to do a bit of research. Despite almost universal MSM coverage all is not as it seems.
    A huge lie and myth is being perpetuated and really the independent media of the rest of the world and particularly those of our kith and kin that share a common heritage should get things right.
    There was no treaty, treaties are drawn up by the so called EU parliament and signed off by IGC (intergovernmental conferences)
    Quite what the idiot boy Cameron thinks he has done is a mystery to most of us.
    I suggest by way of an education to oneself you read what Richard North has to say.

  3. Research? What research? Cameron is trying to prevent happening what Napoleon and Hitler couldn’t make happen. It’s all about control and nothing about economics. The EU is trapped in quicksand so their solution is to dig in deeper. The Germans while proud of Merkel’s conquests will enentually tire of supporting lazy Southern Europeans. Now let’s sing Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles.

  10. And the interesting thing about Germany is that when the ditch Merkel, they will get a Social Democrat/Green coalition. So they would elect socialists to solve the problems caused by too much socialism.
    I guess this makes sense. After all they are borrowing their way out of debt.

  11. Good for Cameron; finally a European leader has said no to this bailout stupidity.
    Maybe now he’ll have the nerve to repeal some at home, like ending all UK contributions to the agricultural subsidy kitty of the EU. The common market is the only good feature of the EU; the rest is pure statism.

  12. Let us too forge a new path. One that sees a return to our traditional home; The Commonwealth. It has been almost 100 years since we united against Teutonic hegemony the first time and over 70 since the second. Liberalism has eroded our freedoms and prosperity in the interim and if this European crises has shown us, it is the logical end of socialist machinations.
    We are far too dependent on the United States, especially if the disaster that Obama is happens to be re-elected. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Canada, Great Britain and the other Dominions need to reforge our links.

    I agree. With Trudeau, everything British became a dirty word. I like being a former part of the worlds greatest empire. Our history is their history.

    WHAT? As we are slowly digging our way out of the Trudeau morass with a majority Conservative government why in Gawd’s name would we even consider closer ties with any of those socialist countries and — with Britain? Give your head a shake. Just returned from that cesspool of hard left ‘benefit seekers’ and, quite frankly, the poorly disguised airs of superiority and in some cases, outright contempt , displayed by some of those ‘snots’ for Americans AND Canadians were enough to make me wish to be less of a lady.
    No thanks. Even my faith in my highland heritage was not enough to overcome the immediate reaction of wanting to kick ‘limey’ ass all around their crumbling and filthy cities.

  16. You’re right jessicam. One of the smartest things my ancestors did was leave Britain. The smartest thing Canada could do is make its own way in this world. Liking what we like disliking what we dislike. All without apologies or excuses.

  17. I agree with DSV and Black Mamba. I check the Telegram almost daily and there have been a lot of rumblings of a palace revolt against Cameron the last week or so and so I suspect his brave stance has an element of pragmatic saving of his skin. Better to throw the Germans and French under the bus.

  18. Perhaps I should have added more to my original post. It is clear that socialism in Europe (as it is every where else) is leading the world over a precipice. Unfortunately, the dominoes will start to fall with greater impact until Soros, through his puppet Obama, will create an enormous debt crises in the United States. If American’s can’t elect a proper President, then America is lost.
    What ALL the English speaking people need is a return to the values that created the world’s largest empire, and the most powerful country in the world.
    I detest the word capitalism as it is the invention of one of the world’ most loathsome individuals. We need not a return to ‘capitalism’ but a world where the power of human invention and innovation are rewarded and applauded.
    We are fortunate that we have PMSH and his initial, timid, attempts at rolling back the disgusting affects of Turdeau, just as Britain is fortunate to have Cameron and not Brown and the US will be fortunate to have anyone above the IQ of a cinder block over Obama. However, I will start to truly believe in PMSH if, in the spring budget, the axe comes to our own bloated, socialist “utopia”

    P.S. One of PMSH’s first acts in majority was to restore Royal to our Air Force and Navy.
    P.P.S. It also seems that the Canada we desire existed not too long ago, before a thinly veiled Fleur-de-lis was adopted as our flag.

    To be fair there are a few more sites that are rather more on the ball than the MSM (Like you’d be amazed, I know!). This morning in the Land that once held the mother Parliament there is a fair bit of head scratching amongst a growing number of people that are realising they’ve been had, that the idiot boy Dave has yet again shafted us, he is no EU sceptic or even anti, he and his cohort of CINO thieves and charlatans are as hot for the EU as they always have been, this was about placating the public and avoiding the referendum that he promised the people when he was trying to get the CINO’s elected.
    There was no Treaty there was nothing on the table to sign, what happens now I’m guessing is that the rest of the EU now get to draft one, and include all the measures that Cameron knows he can’t get past the remaining British that care and its then presented as a fait a compete and one that yet again we can’t change or opt out of, just like all the rest of the treaties, even the EU sceptic Mrs Thatcher misunderstood the way the EU and its denizens of bureaucrats would work to further their fascist socialist agenda.
    The Idiot Boy Dave and his cohorts will continue to talk about repatriating powers and opt outs safe in the knowledge that the public believe them because they are to stupid/busy/gullible/dis-interested …. take your pick , or add as necessary, to bother to acquaint themselves with the facts.
    Britain can not re-negotiate, all it can do is get out, and that will take years of legal wrangling and dispute, and for sure it will be resisted every inch of the way by the muppets in power that are the CINO/lieberal party, even less chance of the other parties doing it.
    UKIP was the only hope once upon a time, but they have consistently failed to attract any real numbers of votes, whilst the CINO party has paraded that it is EU sceptic, and claimed for years that they will do what they can’t do, which is re-negotiate or influence.
    Its rubbish, its a lie, and its perpetuated by the dishonest and lying MSM.

  22. You tell me how the Euros will solve their debt problem without massive printing of some kind of currency. Perhaps Britian doesn’t want to be part of that. France and the southern EU members want the Germans to buy their bonds and take an never ending haircut to save their life style. I also think deep down they think the good old USA will throw some cash at them as well. Yes there are many Euros who don’t realize that the USA is not far behind them in bankruptcy.
    Suggestions that the Comminwealth be re-invigorated is a joke. Our ideal partners on the world stage, Rhodesia or whatever they call it now a days!
    We can only hope that PMSH actually starts to explain to Canadians what is going on financially in Canada and the world. The facts that our social structure is unsustainable and will fail. Prepare to defend this countries borders from those who will try anything to gaion access after the collapse.
