A copy of a cheque for the sum of $988,850.00 to Maurice Strong, from Korean businessman Tongsun Park. Mr. Park was apprehended last week on a flight to Panama from Canada – which he was allowed to board, despite being listed on Interpol – on charges stemming from the UN Oil-For-Food investigation. He’s currently in US custody, having been denied bail as a high flight risk.
In December a Congressional report called for an investigation into Maurice Strong, mentor to Prime Ministers, member of the Privy Council, architect of Kyoto, creator of CIDA, former Senior Advisor to Kofi Annan, and the man who made PetroCanada possible.

Last Friday’s arrest of Korean businessman Tongsun Park in connection with the United Nations Oil- For-Food scandal inevitably brings super-envirocrat Mr. Strong back into the limelight, much, no doubt, to the Liberals’ chagrin.
Mr. Park has been fingered as funnelling funds from the Iraqi regime to influence UN officials. One is Mr. Strong. It may be, as Mr. Strong claims, that he saw no connection between the million laundered dollars he received from Mr. Park to help bail him out of a sticky situation and Mr. Park’s pro-Iraqi activities, but the fact that Mr. Strong is perennially involved in sticky business situations is surely material. After all, Mr. Strong wants to mastermind a new bureaucratic world order that would manage literally everything. And since “secret agendas” are all the rage with the increasingly desperate Liberals, the Prime Minister’s connection with mentor and business partner Mr. Strong deserves a good airing.

The MSM are treating the Zeisman and Oliver affairs as equivalent “scandals” for the two parties. This ignores that Zeisman’s alleged offences were criminal acts for personal gain whereas Oliver’s were an effort to corrupt the political process itself. Crimes of completely different types with Oliver’s the only ones that threaten our “democracy” (I mean, if Svend can run as a convicted criminal…)–yet the media choose not to point this out.
According to Hansen-Carlson he was told the Liberals could deliver the city election to him through 8,500 Indo-Canadian votes that they controlled.

‘Mr. Hansen-Carlson said he was as shocked as anyone.
“I got red in the face. I was sweating,” he said. “[Mr. Oliver and his campaign manager Gordie Kahlon] wanted me to go public, stop campaigning and throw my complete support to Mr. Oliver, out of fears about Mr. Harper.”
If he did, they said they would guarantee him a seat on the next Abbotsford council, because Mr. Kahlon claimed he controlled 8,500 Indo-Canadian votes in the community, alleged Mr. Hansen-Carlson, 23.’.. (Sorry, it wasn’t Oliver himself that said it.)
And, curiously, the headline for the story (deep indeed at p. A12) in the print edition in Ottawa is:
“Liberals axe B.C. candidate over allegations”.
I wonder why the “bribery” descriptor vanished?
This controlled bloc ethnic voting is an increasing threat to our “democracy” but the media again choose to ignore it almost completely. How pathetically pc. And the Liberals demonstrate yet again their true view of minoritities: ballot fodder, not individual people.

China is letting the free market rule even if that will not be allowed in Scamada. Liberals endorse Kyoto because it allows another layer of bureaucracy to “administer” green house gas credits.These are a series of payments going out of the country to places like Brazil to get them not to cut down rainforests and from CO2 producing areas to CO2 reducing areas — non of which exist.
The liberal dream is to make this place like Sweden where everything is forbidden or compulsory. Where the even the churches are state controlled. Even the NDP havent had that vision yet.
I should have mentioned in my comment above that the Kyoto Accord Credit scam would dwarf the Oil for Food fraud if it were allowed to run its course. Iraq sold more than $67 billion worth of oil before the program was ended by the U.S. invasion. Some reports say over $100 billion. It has been revealed that Saddam allegedly forced contractors to kick back about $10 billion between 1997 and 2002. Some reports show more than $21 billion.
By 2005 Paul Martin had already “announced” some $13.7 billion to support the Kyoto Accord targets. Any guesses as to how much this would have amounted to if it had been allowed to “run its course”? And this was only the money to be stolen from the Canadian taxpayers. There were many other scams going on around the world at this time as well.
I might also add that some people suspect that Canada was the main force behind the Oil for Food fraud. There are several investigations in the US as we speak, and I predict that those will lead to a few individuals in Canada.
At the same time Oil for Food was running Maurice Strong was working for the UN and had an office down the hall from Kofi Annan. At about the time the Oil for Food fraud was being uncovered, the Kyoto Accord was created. Very convenient. Both by the same man?
Both the Oil for Food fraud and the Kyoto Accord had the blessing and support of the UN. There seems to be no end to the scams coming out of the UN.
Maurice Strong obviously had at least one connection with Saddam Hussein, Tongsun Park. Were there others?
We now know of at least one cheque that made it’s way from Saddam Hussein to one Canadian, Maurice Strong. Were there others.
In both instances there were billions of dollars involved. To pull off scams of this size you need the support of powerful people. How many were there? And how many were/are Canadians?
Unfortunately for those behind the Kyoto Accord, which would include Maurice Strong and some people in the PMO’s office in my opinion, the Liberal Party is going to be turfed out. How unlucky for them.
If, as has been reported, the Liberal party is over $30 million in debt, why are news outlets giving them airtime when they have no money? What self-respecting business person would give them credit? What is the payoff and where is it coming from? Perhaps the answer lies in the long rumoured to exist “PetroCanada/Fina” Liberal trust fund set up with money the Liberals made on the deal. Just wondering.
Maurice Strong was investigated in the US at one point a decade or more ago for insider trading. He narrowly dodged that bullet then.
However if the laws that are currently in place which got Martha Stewart jail time had been in place when Strong was investigated he may well have been a successful candidate for some prison time then.
Obviously the scent of UN oil-for – food corruption does not negate one’s holding a Privy Council seat.

Mark, you know this is the Khalon of the Dosanjh-Grewal affair, right? Self-perceived power broker who does have a huge influence in the Lower Mainland Indo-Canadian vote. Dosanjh got away with a lot because this guy recanted his offer and it was allowed to die. Grewal paid the price. One can only hope Dosanjh will, but given Vancouver, it’s highly unlikely.
Reading these posts, nobody’s mentioned the growing power of Magna, either, and their Liberal-heavy board/influence.

The unaccountability of foriegn aid money seems to figure prominately in these scandals. Can anyone tell me why the CPC has promised not to cut foreign aid? I think it may be prudent to do so until these crooks are prosecuted.

Belinda is said to be in trouble in her riding too. But would it not be justice if she had to sit all by herself through 4 or 5 years across the aisle from the guy she dumped. I can see it now. She would probably have trouble making a choice, with no-one telling her where to sit. All those empty chairs and all.
I really wish the Conservative Party would wrap up the campaign with “You’ve been lied to….” message, and focus on Kyoto.
Canadians tend to be well-intentioned, but if they learned how badly they’ve been misled, it would likely be the final nail in the coffin for the apologist agenda in Canada and would push the Conservatives in a majority.

Matthew. I commented several times that I thought we were witnessing the demise of a political force in Canada. When the CPC gets in, and Harper launches several investigations, I predict that the next election could very well be the last for the Liberal Party of Canada if this one isn’t.
Fatigue eventually sets in, with so much negative news. People can only take so much. I’m feeling fatigue about it all now.

The MSM also overlooked the Martin/Strong link in the Tsunami CIDA aid photo-Op during the Liberals “Compassion” tour in Sri Lanka , a very telling video posted on a Canadian website showed three disturbing actions of the Federal Liberal Party that brought us the Ad Scam scam which nobody seems to be responsible for.
Paul Martin made a point of the bottled water provided to the Tsunami survivors that was filtered by the DART’s canadian-made portable machine that can sanitize almost any untreated fresh water , this was because Martin was paying off Mo Strong who just happened to be connected financially to the maker of these machines.
Next there is the photo-op where the backdrop shows a Canadian flag flying atop a pole while on Sri Lankan soil , this appeared to be a promo spot for the Tamal/Sri Lankan issue here in Canada where Liberals have been at support rallies for the Tamal Tiger fund raising .
The third and very scarey aspect of the video is when Martin’s RCMP goons made death threats to the person making the video, you see the Liberal propaganda wing assumed this to be a staged tour of “Compassion” and didn’t expect Canadian media to be there, but it was and once it was discovered the camera operator was told to stop filming.
The whole event was caught on tape and not one major media outlet wouldn’t dare upset the Liberals or Paul Martin , our P.M. appoints the SCOC Judges , head of the RCMP, head of the Military and has fanancial sausion over the CBC and CRTC.
When I found a video of a Catholic MP denouncing Jesus as the messiah for the Christians just to appease a Muslim audience , the MSM didn’t seem to care even though it was prior to the last Election when Martin demonized Harper as a right wing Christian zealot.
A check of $988,850.00 made out to Maurice Strong. Can you imagine? Not even made out to a business but to the person, Maurice Strong. Does this guy pay any taxes? Note that it was dated July 30, 1997. Don’t know what the Liberal Canadian Peso was then, but was probably only $0.62. But no, the check was made in US dollars.
The biggest purchase I have made recently is to buy a one year old Chevvy Impala and I am still paying for it. Where did I go wrong?

John C, you make it sound like Mo Strong invented “Kyoto Credits,” but within the 1997 article you cite, Strong himself mentions that emissions trading was already gaining acceptance at the time of writing. Emissions trading was already a long-standing reality within the U.S. (due to the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990), and quite effective in reducing SO2 emissions. That success was held up as an example to push for emissions trading to be allowed under Kyoto.
I recall a great deal of controversy among environmentalists about the proposal to include emissions trading under Kyoto. Those opposed to emissions trading argued that many feasible improvements would not get made, because it would be easier to just buy the credits. They also argued that the offset projects (like rainforest protection, tree plantations etc.) would be of dubious value because their permanence as carbon sinks could not be guaranteed.
From what I’ve read here, I think it is entirely possible that Mr. Strong is just seizing profit and power wherever he can. It’s also possible (although I find it a little less plausible) that he is genuinely fanatical about creating a new world order to save the environment and humanity, and he is willing to seize whatever profit and power he can as a means to that end. Either way, he didn’t invent emissions trading – unless he also engineered the U.S. Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990???
