  4. I read a couple of stories this morning about smoke from forest fires in Canada affecting air quality in the US and there’s always a reference to Canada’s mismanagement of forests.

    That kinda made me laugh because just how would you manage a forested area as huge as Canada’s considering most of it isn’t accessible by road.

    1. Yeah, a Corus is an organization that plays fast and loose with facts and reality. After all, they’re another government subsidized propaganda service. Despite all the largesse, they still can’t survive fiscally. Talk about spending beyond your means, these guys are delusional. And then for Alberta in particular, what makes them think foregoing local “news” for a Fourth Toronto perspective will improve things? It’s a joke.
      Two years ago, CTV closed its Victoria news office, which incidentally was a pre-condition of its station license 20 or so years ago. Go figure. Instead now, they provide a Vancouver based “newscast” of Victoria. Might as well be produced in Toronto for that matter. This is the arrogance of the TV media industry.
      Corus is a particularly nasty offender of logic and reason. All these years later, their BC newscast/channel position survives on the distant past of BCTV, which was a CTV affiliate over 20 years ago, and, was certainly more independent and showed it. Yet, it is just a distant memory that Corus uses to retain its Boomer elderly viewers in Vancouver. Its current broadcasts are just more corporate teleprompter schlock, read by mindless automatons. It’s breathtakingly bland.
      Glowbull can’t go down fast enough, for its Leftwing political bias, ranging from its Climate Change religion, it’s Covidiot authoritarianism, TDS and MEDIA KNOWS BEST attitude, especially when they’re wrong.
      The writing is on the wall. Why Alberta and not Saskatchewan, Manitoba or in your case, the Maritimes? If they think it’s penalizing Alberta, poking a stick in Albertans eyes, it’s a hilariously delusional position. Ridiculous actually.

        1. Since it’s so cheap I once suggested Ezra Levant buy it and turn it into Fox North. If it was the only non-communist network in Canada it might have a guaranteed base audience. Two problems. The government would never allow it and despite being free to buy it would take cash to sustain. Corus seems destined for bankruptcy.

          1. The secret is in who owns their debt. Because you could buy $1.13 billion in revenue for $7 million and make some cuts to become profitable – but you can’t. We will never know who gets the assets but we will get the debt, either directly through the government or indirectly through the banks.
