A copy of a cheque for the sum of $988,850.00 to Maurice Strong, from Korean businessman Tongsun Park. Mr. Park was apprehended last week on a flight to Panama from Canada – which he was allowed to board, despite being listed on Interpol – on charges stemming from the UN Oil-For-Food investigation. He’s currently in US custody, having been denied bail as a high flight risk.
In December a Congressional report called for an investigation into Maurice Strong, mentor to Prime Ministers, member of the Privy Council, architect of Kyoto, creator of CIDA, former Senior Advisor to Kofi Annan, and the man who made PetroCanada possible.
Peter Foster , in the Financial Post – Jan13;
Last Friday’s arrest of Korean businessman Tongsun Park in connection with the United Nations Oil- For-Food scandal inevitably brings super-envirocrat Mr. Strong back into the limelight, much, no doubt, to the Liberals’ chagrin.
Mr. Park has been fingered as funnelling funds from the Iraqi regime to influence UN officials. One is Mr. Strong. It may be, as Mr. Strong claims, that he saw no connection between the million laundered dollars he received from Mr. Park to help bail him out of a sticky situation and Mr. Park’s pro-Iraqi activities, but the fact that Mr. Strong is perennially involved in sticky business situations is surely material. After all, Mr. Strong wants to mastermind a new bureaucratic world order that would manage literally everything. And since “secret agendas” are all the rage with the increasingly desperate Liberals, the Prime Minister’s connection with mentor and business partner Mr. Strong deserves a good airing.
Now, read the rest.

For a man who who champions a carbon reduced global enviromental policy, Mo “Mr Kyoto” sure has a thang for those dreaded fossil fuels, doesn’t he?
“Paul Martin’s mentor has an agenda. It’s not secret. He wants the United Nations to have an independent army. With guns. So they might go anywhere they’re needed. Like Canadian cities. In Canada. With guns.”
From the Canada.com link. I’m beyond gobsmacked to see the mainstream media giving the Liberals such a thorough if belated “atittude adjustment”. Better late than never; I tip my hat to Peter Foster of the Financial Post for writing this exceptional piece.
Any guy who takes a cheque from Tongsun Park knows full well who he’s dealing with, and wherever Mo goes, he brings his own honeypot.A septic tank is where you’d expect to find these two turds.
And the question has to asked, Who was Mr. Park visiting in Canada? How did he get here? Who did he meet? Why wasn’t Mr.Park arrested either leaving or entering Canada? Governmental immunity from international warrant perhaps? Martinites in high places?
The left repeatedly (and foolishly) spew forth that the invasion of Irag was against international law. U.N. law. Laws put together by unelected tyrants, criminals, and miscreants like Strong. What a wagon to hitch one’s pony too. Shameful.
I noticed this last night and commented on it. I wonder what the RCMP has to say about this.
Kate,
The cheque is persuasive but the question remains. Do you have a strong case?.
Terry; A case for?? Please elaborate.
Got this posted earlier this evening. Of course, nowhere near the traffic, so Kate I’m glad you have the same items up. One Cordex to bind them all.
Maybe now MSM will pay this some attention. It’s long overdue.
How much money ended up in the hands of MS after he set up, and for a time ran, Petro Canada for P.E.T.?
Stephen Taylor Has the Newest Liberal Attack Ad on His Blog!!
It’s just released and it’s horrible. I can’t believe they would go so low. I’m shaking and almost crying in anger.
http://www.stephentaylor. …
You have to see it. What has the Liberal Party come to?
Staggering coincidence. Just days after David Asper throws his support behind the Tories, disgusted by the base ads run by the Liberals, suddenly, this is being looked at. This sordid trail and tale could make a young buck’s (or buckette’s) career as a reporter if anybody would take it on. Now that reporters no longer have to fear the wrath of the Libs, maybe Canadians will finally find out who it really is they’ve been supporting for over a decade.
Someone should as Anne McLellan about the Tongsun Park visit and how he got through our ‘secure’ airports without being stopped. Billions wasted on security that leaks like a sieve on behalf of the Liberals and their trough buddies. If Park, with an Interpol warrant out on him can slip through, how many others are flying through with the greatest of ease? Hidden agenda indeed.
Thanks to Peter Foster for getting on side with the truth in reporting that we deserve in a ‘democracy’. We have seen far to little of this in the last 12 years.
Artemis,
It was another of my, apparently failed, attempts at humour. A STRONG case (of corruption.)
IMOH one of the things that separates conservatives from liberals and leftists is our superior sense of humour.
Perhaps with the help of Canada’s Liberal party, Mr. Strong and associates were hoping to destabilize the US and its economy, given their contempt for the UN and the poseurs who revere it. Jan 23rd cannot come too soon. I do hope journalists on the campaign trail nail Martin about this. Doubt it. It’s beyond the interest of the Canadian public, but it would be nice if in his last week, he got nailed for using the LPC as a front, or as an accomplice, for any shady dealings involving Park and Strong.
Sorry Terry, I’ve been battling trolls all day had a hair trigger and missed it. Good pun. No worries mate.
Speaking of which, I was trolling myself among the Liberal blogs… but there was nothing to troll. There is gloom in the land of the moonbat tonight.
Going down the “Liberal” blogroll was wildly disappointing. Some were talking about voting for CPC. Kinsella himself has given up. Others are repeating the parodies of the ads and even Zariabisa (sp) is playing the latest.
Unfortunately nobody has threatened to move to Sweden after the CPC victory (I guess the States is out for them).
Many blogs hadn’t posted for a while and the number of comments ranged from 0 to 2 per post.
Keep up the good work everyone.
I think in the end all this will connect to Power Corp.
Paul Martin’s connection to the new world order of Gaia exposed in the MSM with one week left in the election. It just keeps gettin better and better.
On January 23rd the Canadian electorate will stand up and proclaim the Emperor has no clothes. But somehow the mortal fear on this man’s face tells me that losing his dictatorship isn’t the only thing he’s afraid of.
La Cosa Nostra, Triad drug lords, U.S. Justice Dept, Mo Strong’s Gaia cult? Any bets as to who will call for first dibs on Jr.?
Junior has failed the Sith and will pay the punishment for failure. He knows it.
The Desmarais;Strong;Total;PowerCorp;Chretien cabal is unearthed.
Now say… who really has the “hidden agenda”

Petrocan paid an exorbitant price for Petrofina.
$2.5billion.
The book value was only $562 million.
The Liberals didnt really seem to care what Petrofina cost.
Further controversy erupted when it was discovered that Maurice Strong had been involved in the negotiations with the Belgian parent, and that a firm in which he held a stake had recieved a $1-million fee. In fact,Strong did have contacts that proved valuable in the transaction, and the fee—considering the size of the deal—was relatively low. Neverthless, there were allegations that it was yet another example of the favoured few using Petrocan to feather their own nests. pg167
I have decided to dust off my copy and reread it, havent done so since 1992
TongsunPark bought off Maurice Strong
Maurice Strong bought off Paul Martin
That’s why Mr. Park can travel “securely” through Canada.
When Interpol has a seach warrant for him
Liberal backed international criminals, in Canada.
Canada, the pure & clean international boy scouts
On Paul Martin’s watch
We’re not making this up
Being connected with the Glibs is better than a get-out-of-jail-free card!?!
Somebody tipped the Mexican authorities off and then called the US embassy in Mexico City, D.F., to let the FBI liaison know that he was changing planes in Mexico. It was a setup. He had been tracked into Canada and watchers flagged the airline reservation system. My source says there is talk, just chatter so far, that he was escorted through the airport to the VIP lounge by persons unknown.
Pravda CBC hasnt seen fit to tie Strong to this for over 8 months. do a search on their site.
BIAS BY OMMISION>>>>>
are you reading these Blogs Peter Pansbridge and your CBC fantasy world reality checks???? Neil McDonald isnt fit to kick horseturds down the road.
PMPM hasnt the guts to relate his old boss to this scandal even after the cheque is shown., after all he and the Montreal old money bought a shipping line off him.
Paul Martin is going to disappear after the election.
The only time you will hear his name is in comparisons to Turner. And Kim Campbell.
An uninteresting, brief historical footnote on how not to run elections. Congratulations Mr Martin. Enjoy the legacy you’ve taken a lifetime to build.
when PravdaCBC mentions the oil for food program it is generally a mention of KofiAnnans son and
a “Texas businessman” , I think by not naming him there is an implication GW.
This is such a direct link to even CBC will have to take notice.
PS They havent mentioned a poll in a week.
Maybe M.Duffy’s backlash is only the tip of the iceberg, if more media see the Libs/Powercorp are finally going down, we could see a snowball effect where the ‘fear and intimidation’ is lifted, and more and more will be revealed. We may very well be on the brink of a two party system again, this only makes it scarier knowing “who’ll” be on the left !!!
It’s about time this stuff started coming out. I was listening to talk radio today and Rutherford (I know, I know) was starting to make some of the connections. The response of the public was one of amazement. It was an eye opener for me , I thought more citizens were aware of the real power structure of this country, sadly it seems I was wrong.
Is it any wonder that the Libs are fighting back so hard.
The Desmarais; Strong; Total; PowerCorp; Trudeau; Mulrooney; Chretien; Dithers cabal has directed the policy and direction of this country for nearly fourty years.
Harper is an outsider that they laughed off, the real battle begins the day he takes office. Watch you’re back Stephen, watch you’re back.

I’m just sorry that Chretien will only come out of all this smelling like a turd – instead of in shackles.
This is serious. A high-profile fugitive from Interpol not only entered Canada, but managed to board a flight as well. After which, Mexico of all places figured out who he was and detained him.
If one of the most wanted individuals in the world can enter and leave our country at will just why the hell do we even bother with border security.
This should be the top story tomorrow, even without his payoffs to our prime minister’s adviser and friend.
(It should, but don’t hold your breath.)
Ok, what I don’t understand is why Maurice Strong is still wandering the planet unencumbered by a warrent for his arrest. This guy is connected to so much slime that it is a mystery to me, and it is a greater mystery to me why no one really has started looking into Mr. Strong. Remember, this guy ran Ontario Hydro poorly during the long dark 5 years under Bobby Rae and his kids. Strong spend millions buying a rainforest in Costa Rica instead of putting money into upgrading Hydro. Is it any wonder that Hydro was found to be a mess years later???? Strong is a master at using other people and their money to feather his own nest…of course, this just is my opinion! ( in case Maurice’s lawyers are looking!!)
CBC producers’ utter non-coverage of Maurice Strong’s dealings, and of his profound connection to Martin and the Liberals has noted as a large elephant in the CBC’s National-sized room for a long, long time. The lack of coverage of Mr. Park’s recent apprehension, too, and the apparent ease with which he travelled in and out of Canada, shows once again that the CBC has been effectively functioning for years now as a public relations arm of an out-of-control LPC racket. Not any more, apparently; all of a sudden these very same reporters and producers are attempting to disassociate themselves in a public manner from such disreputable people as the Liberals.
They wish. Over at Peaktalk, Ginna Dowler, noting the “extraordinary about-face” of the Canadian MSM, suggests that this sudden flip-flop on the part of MSM journalists in Canada is born of disillusionment. In her undeniably kind view, journalists are people who hope to change the world for the better, but their dreams were shattered by the realization that Paul Martin is not the saviour they thought he was.
I don’t buy it. Inasmuch as the CBC’s propagandistic, selective and non-coverage of egregious LPC behaviour in the Chretien years was the same — or worse — as that which we have seen until about a month ago, what, exactly, did these journalists dream that Martin might save them from? Since their own public legacy shows them going out of the way — ridiculously, in retrospect, like whistling time-bound amusements flapping on the poles — to cover up for all manner of malfeasance, the only thing the Milewskis’ and Paul Hunters’ need to be saved from is their own legacy as fraudulent government journalists. If they were truly disillunsioned about the nature of power in Canada under the Liberals, they wouldn’t have been working so hard to keep Canadians in the dark about the facts.
It’s too late for these obsequious servants to convincingly convert. The “journalistic malpractice” (an apt phrase which Kate coined) which they have been eagerly engaged in has been more than duly noted — it’s been broadcast. Fulsomely.
Oh well, it’ll all get straightened out. If current trends hold for nine more days, the good-Canadian-values idea that government-sponsored cover-up artists are journalists will pass — duly noted — into memory as a dark time for the press in this country.
P.S. I apologize to McDiarmid, Lawand, and quite a few others who don’t fit the bill.

The last 3 paragraphs of the Post article are AMAZING! The gloves are off in the MSM now! I agree with whoever said Mike Duffy tipped the balance in the media. I KNEW there was more “strong arming” where that had come from.

Re; Petrocan purchase of Canadian PetroFina.
Doug, Peter Fosters 1992 story only scratches the surface. As in the current Income Trust saga, the Fina story was very similar inasmuch as there was also a very dramatic increase in the trading of Canadian Fina’s stock on the TSE hours before the announcement came out of Brussels that PetroCanada had finalized a deal whereby they would purchase all of the stock of Canadian Fina. Without doubt there was massive insider trading. When the dust settled, the price of the stock had as I recall, more than doubled. In addition, the then retired and very respected former Pres. of Cdn.Fina, the late Mr.Trajan Nitesku, was so infuriated about the whole affair, that he, at his own cost, bought a full page in the Calgary Herald to expreess his outrage of the deal and his very strong objection to the formation of PetroCanada. He also metioned for the benefit of those who would criticize him for having made a large profit resulting from the sale of his personal Cdn. Fina stock, the name of the charity to whom he donated all of the proceeds to. This was an even more outrageous case of “leaking” of information for the benefit of Liberal insiders, a deal directly involving the federal government and those bureaucrats, including M. Strong. In this case, there was not even an investigation let alone any insiders being charged with “insider trading”.
I’ve been following the Kyoto Accord for some time. It all came together when I found some specific information about Canada. Here it is. I’ll cut to the chase.
Sorry for the long comment but it’s worth it.
The Kyoto Accord was created by Maurice Strong in 1997 in Costa Rica. I first found mention of it in an Earth Council media release dated that year.
Looking Towards A Sustainable and Secure Energy Future – Maurice F. Strong – Summer 1997
http://www.ecouncil.ac.cr/about/speech/strong/harvardrev.htm
In December of that year (1997) Canada and more than 160 other countries met in Kyoto, Japan, and agreed to targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Shortly after the Kyoto Accord was created Costa Rican President Jose Maria Figueros announced that Costa Rica would be introducing Certifiable Tradable Offsets (another name for Kyoto Credits) to any countries that signed up for Kyoto but were unable to meet the reduced emissions goals laid out by the Accord.
Each Kyoto Credit represents the reduced emission into the atmosphere of one metric ton of carbon. In other words these credits represent nothing more than thin air.
Costa Rica was originally selling these Kyoto Credits and using the money for it’s own purposes (doesn’t matter who to or what for).
Next comes the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) set up by Maurice Strong in Geneva and sponsored by the Earth Council (which is based in Costa Rica and happens to be where Maurice Strong lives). The IETA was also selling Kyoto Credits.
The way this scam works is that large companies buy Kyoto Credits which are really certificates to emit fixed amounts of specific chemical compounds. In other words, Kyoto Credits help a company to meet Kyoto targets that they otherwise would not be able to meet.
The Canadian government committed to the Kyoto objectives and set the targets that each industry had to meet. It knew there was little chance that Canada’s large industrial polluters would voluntarily meet these targets. This meant that they would have to buy Kyoto Credits to make up the shortfall.
Where do you think these companies would get the money to buy these credits from? From the government of course, in the form of grants, interest-free loans, tax incentives, etc. The government would be happy to give this money to these companies to show it’s support for Kyoto. The government of course would get the money from the taxpayer.
My opinion is that this is a huge scam orchestrated by Maurice Strong and some people in the Liberal Party of Canada.
Timelines I can find so far (still looking)
Oct. 6, 2002: Federal government brings in its Action Plan 2000 on Climate Change in which it commits an initial $500 million on measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Nov. 21, 2002: Federal government formally releases its Climate Change Plan for Canada. Plan promises annual cuts of 240 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and commits more billions shortly thereafter.
Aug. 12, 2003: Ottawa pledges $1 billion more for its climate change plan, offering incentives to consumers and industry. Total federal spending on Kyoto reaches $3.7 billion.
April 12, 2004: Environment Canada releases 2002 greenhouse gas inventory. The report shows Canada emitted 731 million tonnes of greenhouse gases that year, already 28 per cent above the Kyoto target of 572 million tonnes it must reach by 2012.
April 13. 2005: The federal government announces details of its Kyoto implementation plan, which revamps the plan and pledges $10 billion more to cut greenhouse gases by 270 megatonnes a year by 2008-2012.
Total to date (that I’ve been able to find): $13.7 billion. Remember, all of this is to go to buy Kyoto Credits. The money goes right into the pockets of those who are selling the credits. It does nothing to solve the problem the Kyoto Accord is supposed to address.
Some very large companies in Canada stand to gain from all this. What are their connections to the Liberal Party of Canada? Will they be required to spend all of the money granted to them by the government on Kyoto Credits? Or can they “keep some of it”.
It appears that this is a huge scam and transfer of wealth that dwarfs AdScam and GunScam combined.
Both Maurice Strong and Tongsun Park have been in Canada lately. I wonder why? Was it to get their stories straight? If the Liberal Party loses this election, and it looks like they will, there will be a lot of questions about a lot of things. If the Liberals were leading in the polls would both of these guys have come here at this time?
I wonder what they’re all thinking right about now, seeing all those billions disappearing right before their eyes?
Steven Harper is going to have a very hard time deciding which Commission of Inquiry to launch first.
Cordex, Oil For Food, Tongsun Park
Congressional report calls for investigation of Maurice Strong’s role in Oil-for-Food scandal
By Judi McLeod
Friday, December 9, 2005
http://www.canadafreepress.com/2005/cover120905.htm
Excerpt:
Following the path of the Saddam-to-Park-to-Cordex money trail tells a tawdry tale.
Park, allegedly an influence peddler for Saddam Hussein, reportedly took cash in a plastic bag to a Jordanian bank where he deposited it before writing “Mr. M. Strong” on a cheque in the amount of $988,885. The money was used by Strong to purchase a stake in Cordex Petroleum Inc., which was run by Strongs son, Fred.
Cordexs main investments were in oil properties in Chile and Argentina. In Argentina, the company was involved in a joint venture with Enron until it went bankrupt.
Strong maintains he knows nothing of the origin of the funds, and claims he has no ties to Oil-for-Food.
Strong admitted that he sometimes took advice from Park in his job as the UN special envoy in North Korea.
On July 6, 2004 Strong had requested a Canadian contribution of $400,000 over two years for a $2.2-million trust fund to support his special envoy activities in North Korea.
In July 2005, Strongs contract with the UN as Special Envoy to North Korea was not renewed, and he seems to have since faded from public.
Canadian members of parliament voted against investigating whether Canada had any role in the UN Oil-for-Food scandal.
On April 21, 2005, Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew said, “We note Mr. Strongs very public statements about the nature of his dealings with Tongsun Park which he notes were related to Mr. Strongs work in North Korea for the United Nations secretary general.”
Conservative Foreign Affairs critic Stockwell Day asked, “Can the Prime Minister assure us that Canadians are not involved in the scandal surrounding the UNs oil for food program, yes or no?”
Pettigrew responded: “Mr. Speaker, clearly the answer is no, they are not, We have noted the public statements by Mr. Strong concerning the nature of his dealings with Tongsun Park, in which he indicated that these were connected to his work relating to North Korea on behalf of the Secretary General of the UN.”
While environmental leaders attending this weeks UN climate conference in Montreal expected to hear from Strong–who is generally accepted as the architect of the Kyoto protocol–they heard from Prime Minister Paul Martin instead.
Strong is rarely heard from since allegations of his ties to the oil-for-food scandal became public. Martin, who took time out the Canadian election campaign, did what Maurice Strong does best: criticize the United States of America.
The criticism Martin leveled against the U.S. coincided with the day the draft report of the House International Relations subcommittee became public.
Martin called on all nations to join the global effort to fight climate change, adding: “To the reticent nations, including the United States, I say there is such a thing as a global conscience, and now is the time to listen to it.” (Toronto Star, Dec. 8, 2005).
At the time of writing, no Canadian media had carried the story that the subcommittee indicated that Strongs role in the Oil-for-food scandal “should be examined”.
Meanwhile, many Canadians do not recognize the name of Maurice Strong, let alone his alleged ties to the UN Oil-for-Food scandal.

Joe Klein, Author of ‘Global Deception,’ Decries International Earth Charter Meeting as Threat to Constitutional Freedoms
Nov 8, 2005
….The Earth Charter is a document that has been touted as an authoritative synthesis of values, principles, and aspirations that are widely shared by growing numbers of men and women in all regions of the world, says Klein. In actuality, its a bunch of vaguely-worded nonsense that Kofi Annan minion Maurice Strong, the hypocritical Canadian industrialist billionaire behind it, has said should take the place of the Ten Commandments or the U.S. Constitution. And thanks to the overwhelmingly liberal cast of American education and many of our courts, the Earth Charter movement is gaining adherents not just in schools, but among American jurists eager to enshrine its pie-in-the-sky tenets into our laws.….

Strong Implications
What the Park arrest portends.
January 10, 2006
….The Volcker committee’s failure to note Strong’s role in the U.N. restructuring that created the Iraq-program office may perhaps be ascribed to the fact that the executive director of Volcker’s inquiry, former Canadian government official Reid Morden, recused himself from the portion of the investigation pertaining to Park and Strong. Morden did this because during the same years in which Oil-for-Food was taking shape, Morden himself, then running the Canadian government’s atomic-energy company, had business contacts with both Strong and Park.
For example, in a footnote on page 100, volume II, Volcker’s Sept. 7 report informs us that during that period Morden sent a letter dated Oct. 16, 1996, to both Strong and Park “requesting on behalf of the Canadian atomic energy company the support of Mr. Strong and Mr. Park for the sale of ‘Candu 9’ nuclear reactors during their upcoming meetings in Korea with Korean leaders.” The Volcker report adds that the 1996 trip made by Strong and Park to Korea was not related to Oil-for-Food…

Maz, maz, maz. Honour’s getting straightened out, and you receive it. Long run. Happy January.
Sad news: suicide bomber kills one Canadian soldier and injures three others in Kandahar.
Sad news indeed. After reading all the above posts re corruption from our government and their friends, a government who has decimated our military over 13 years, to read that a true Canadian has lost his/her life serving the country honourably, while those above rob us blind, is just about enough to start a revolution.
The attack ad denouncing our Military tells the true colours of the organized crime cabal that has been bleeding this country and our military. Not one of them would have the courage to do what our Military is asked to do daily–and then Martin has the unmitigated gall to set up a ‘hero’s fund’–this while DND etc. is doing everything in their power to keep our injured military men from getting their pensions–like Matt Stopford! Is there no level to which this slime will not sink?
Great post Kate. You have most of the dope on Malignant Moe’s twisted trail of insider networking and public scamming. His links to Martin’s business dealings should also be made public ( Zenon, Cordex CSL Equity Investments etc.). We can only hope that this becomes wide public knowledge some day. When People realize that Desmarais-Powercor alumnus have occupied the PMO for 35 years maybe it will start to sink in that old-line party political dynasties are made in corporate board rooms and through patronage brokerage….not ballots.
I wonder what the Americam people would do if the occupant of the oval office for the past 9 admisitrations had been an officer or board member of Haliburton? Why is it such a well kept MSM secret in Canada that our last 4 PMs have been Powercor executives or advisiors? Why does Moe escape our MSM scorn for being a Powercor advance scout for brokering insider deals and public subsidized business deals?
George,
TAYQ: No.
The CTF blog also mentiioned recently another scandal involving the Liberals involve in a highly questionable real estate transaction involving Power Corp.
Looks like a UN prosperity cheque
Was Park given the same treatment as Curtis Sliwa by our Custom?
Kyoto is the scam of all scams.
While Dalton Mcguinty closes Ontario’s coal-fired generating plants, Martins liberals, M Strong, and Power Corp., are raking in millions, building coal-fired generating plants in China (through CIDA) with taxpayers money.
If this theft is allowed to continue, those millions will turn into billions.
Kyoto has been budgeted 10 billion already.
Stop the liberal thievery, vote conservative on Jan 23…
Ps. Ontario is closing 7 or 8 coal-plants, I hear China is building 500….
…….(holy sheep-dip…500)…….
Would someone please ask Dalton what he thinks about Martins China coal policy..!
the MSM in this country does not want to report news, as it happens. they are to busy trying to make it to there own liking and cast themselves to be experts on everything and anything but what the facts and truth really are.
