I believe that if Fidel is not yet dead he is very close to it just like Obama’s chances of ever becoming President of the USofA.
Looks like a junior college version of Julius Caesar. Guess who has the sharpened blade?

Keep a watch for Tudeau’s kid, Lloyd Axworthy or Alexa McDonnough’s whereabouts.
They will be the first Canadians to kneel at the murderous bastards coffin.
When Castro kicks there’s our opportunity to get the Trudeau brats out of the country….I’m sure they’ll be pall bearers at their “uncle Fidel’s” funeral, maybe they can be persuaded to take over for their “uncle Fidel” as Cuban commissars…. as he has no kids of his own maybe his extended adopted family in Canada can provide an heir to the Cuban throne?
Sure would save Canada from a second dose of Trudeau communism.
What happens to the balance of power in the US senate if a ticket of Hillory/Obama (or vice-versa) wins the white house. The Govenor of their states appoints their replacement to fill their term. That could be 2 republicans. Will Obama pull a Liberman and run for both offices. Interesting time ahead for the democratic party in the US. Obama made a great speach at the 2004 democratic convention and was thus catipulted to fame because of it. Hillory is counting on all the single women in the US to vote for her. I don’t think that will happen, and there will be a cat fight of some kind between her and Pelosi.
EXCUSE ME, Ms. Ayala?
I’m with Minister of Municipal Affairs John Gerretsen who says, “the province will not speak out against the…use of [the Lord’s] prayer that is also used in the Ontario legislature. It’s been part of our standard procedure here for over 210 years.”
This assinine manoeuvre on the part of Ayala and her atheist and agnostic colleagues exaclty confirms what I’ve known for a very long time: It is not co-religionists from other countries/cultures who are demanding the de-Christianization of Canada–as the multiculti brigades would have us think: nice “cover,” guys, for your nefarious intentions–but the non-believers in God.
Canada’s motto is “[May He have dominion] from sea to sea,” from Psalm 72, a passage from Scripture that is totally acceptable and, indeed, sacred to Muslims, Jewish people, and Christians.
As God is mentioned in both Canada’s Constitution and in our National Anthem, I think it may be an outside chance that these sidewinders can successfully challenge the saying of The Lord’s Prayer in public places/meetings.
Ms. Ayala and her cabal can hightail it outta Dodge if they don’t like it here. Maybe they’d like to try Bagdhad and insist that the civic meetings there not begin with Muslim prayers. I’m pretty sure there’d be no articles in news papers there or sympathetic cluckings in the Iraqi media.
In fact, I wonder where Ms. Ayala and her merry little band of atheists would find themselves…?
Further to Ms. Ayala’s arrogant and ignorant demands that municipal councils cease and desist from opening their meetings with the Lord’s Prayer, check out one of her sites on the Web:
http://ottawa.humanists.net/Origins_files/Christianity.htm
Here’s a taste of what you’ll find there:
[begin quote]
The Origins of Christianity
Background Material
From the earliest times people venerated the Earth-mother/Goddess and the female was seen as miraculously giving life, nourishing her young and losing blood through menstruation without bleeding to death. People also associated the monthly menstrual cycle with of the phases of the moon.
Gradually patriarchy replaced the matriarchy system as seen in the Old Testament through the Jewish accounts of their history.
[end quote]
Oh yeah. Here we go. The nasty, bad, oppressive patriarchy–as if matriarchies are as pristine as the driven snow when it comes to abuses and oppression.
Next thing you know: Ms. Ayala will be demanding prayers addressed to Gaia, the aformentioned Earth-mother/Goddess, whose devoted followers probably can be counted on one hand.

Buddha statue villain shot dead
KABUL A FORMER Taleban official who oversaw the destruction of the 1,500-year-old Bamiyan Buddhas in 2001 was assassinated in Afghanistan yesterday. Maulavi Mohammed Islam Mohammadi, who was the Taleban’s governor of Bamiyan province when the giant fifth-century statues were blown up in March 2001, was killed on his way to Friday prayers in the capital, Kabul.
A gunman dressed as a construction worker shot and killed him and wounded one of his two bodyguards with an AK47 assault rifle before fleeing. Mohammadi was elected in 2005 to represent the northern province of Samangan in Afghanistan’s parliament.
After that, Mohammadi said he should not be held responsible for the destruction of the statues, which the Taleban considered to be idolatrous and anti-Muslim. …-

YouTube to Share Revenue With Users
DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — Chad Hurley, co-founder of YouTube, said Saturday that the wildly successful site will start sharing revenue with its millions of users.
Hurley, who along with the site’s co-founders sold YouTube to Google for $1.65 billion in November, said one of the major innovations the site is working on is a way to allow users to be paid for content.
“We are getting an audience large enough where we have an opportunity to support creativity, to foster creativity through sharing revenue with our users,” Hurley said at the World Economic Forum. “So in the coming months, we are going to be opening that up.”
Hurley gave no details of how much users would be paid, or what mechanism would be used….-

I cannot believe how the majority and the media have already convicted Pickton. Now, I am like the rest of us in that I obviously do not have all the facts but there are many things that are not reported or questioned.
For example, in no particular order:
(1) The police, firefighters, and city officials were known to party on the property, affectionately known as “Piggy’s Palace”. If I remember correctly this was in the paper briefly when the investigation started but there has been no mention of it lately.
(2) Pickton also stated he was set up yet everyone is hanging on the news-report-friendly clips from the witnesses. If it were a fair trial, doesn’t he deserve to try and prove this? Rather, everyone immediately takes the word of so-called ‘witnesses’ that are either police or ‘friends’ (but are probably implicated hanger-arounds at the Palace). Look at him, here’s a somewhat challenged social misfit whom all that frequented the farm would have known as always being around. An easy target. I don’t think Willy was a part of these partys.
(3) Where has his brother been in all of this? Strangely quiet considering all of these women were murdered on the FAMILY property and his brother is on trial. Wouldn’t he have known about any of this and if so, why didn’t he say anything before? If there were severed heads and limbs in buckets, wouldn’t he have seen these? Shouldn’t he have done something if he had?
I would be folly to claim categorically that Willy Pickton didn’t do it, and I am not saying that. Just as it is also folly at this point to claim he murdered these women. We will probably never know what really happened regardless of how the trial concludes.
However, things are not always as they seem…Kyoto? Sponsorship? BUT, usually if there is a whiff of corruption, there is some degree truth in it.
If I were to speculate, I think this was a bunch of cops having some sick fun with women and with the side effect of cleaning up the streets. They got snitched on and Willy’s an easy fall guy.
What do I know…I could be wrong. But we should be asking these questions instead of blindly convicting him after the first week of the trial. Especially based on the media’s track record on a plethora of issues.
Batb, Secular Ontario are nothing more than a group of bullying thugs, who want to reaffirm, once again, how much power they have.
I’m a born again Atheist, but have nothing but respect for people of ANY religion, who use their faith to better themselves and thus make a positive impact on the world. My mother is one of the only true Christians I’ve ever met.
Persons who use their beliefs as a weapon against others, as an excuse for their personality disorders, have my contempt.
Secular Ontario does nothing more than divide people along lines that don’t really matter. There are good and bad people of every faith and non-faith, and there is no reason to not cooperate to build a better community, and Country.
Ego driven agendas, whatever the cover story, are always harmful to society. This story is about another group of nasty little activists who want to cause discomfort for fellow citizens, for no good reason, other than to satisfy their own mental disorders.
If anyone, of any belief system, wishes to open a meeting with prayers, it is NOT going to harm anyone, and may give comfort to some, so S.O., get a life, grow up.
“Objectively speaking, the cartoon controversy was a tempest in a teacup. But subjectively it was a show of strength and, in the context of the “clash of civilizations,” a dress rehearsal for the real thing. The Muslims demonstrated how quickly and effectively they can mobilize the masses, and the free West showed that it has nothing to counter the offensive — nothing but fear, cowardice and an overriding concern about the balance of trade. Now the Islamists know that they are dealing with a paper tiger whose roar is nothing but a tape recording.”
from The Capitulation of the West at Flopping Aces.
Obama is the poster boy for Islamic apostates. It will be real interesting to see what happens over the next year on that account. I don’t think he’ll be able to avoid the questions.

The United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) – led by a triumvirate of Kofi Annan (now UN secretary-General), Canadian general Maurice Baril (later military Chief of Staff in Ottawa) and Pakistani diplomat Iqbal Riza – along with then-secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and the major powers on the UN security Council (the United States, Britain and France) all worked to prevent Dallaire’s UN peacekeepers in Rwanda from intervening in the genocide. Moreover, in addition to the work of the U.S., Britain and France (which was in something of a conflict of interest with respect to Rwanda as the French government of President Francois Mitterrand had close connections with Habyarimana’s regime and the RGF), it just so happened that one of the revolving seats on the UN security Council was occupied by Rwanda; thus, the extremists had a closer connection to the UN and its deliberations over Rwanda than Dallaire himself did. …-
Well-said, dmorris.
I have nothing against thoughtful and mature atheists and agnostics who understand that in a democracy all are free to either worship or not.
And, I agree with your assessment of the Sheila Alayas and her like-minded cabal of troublemakers, that they are “nasty little activists who want to cause discomfort for fellow citizens, for no good reason, other than to satisfy their own mental disorders.”
Isn’t it too bad that the so-called Charter of Rights (sic) and Freedoms (sic)–whatever happened to a badly needed Charter of Responsibilities and Obligations?–emboldens and gives a franchise to these nutters? Now that we’ve encoded individual rights over those of the common good of our society, every envious mental and ethical deficient has “a right” to take others to court if they don’t happen to “like” or “accept” their views.
No wonder, under Pierre Elliott Trudeau, the Liberal government, composed of more than its share of lawyers, brought in the Charter: The only people benefitting from it are the lawyers, who are laughing all the way to the courtroom and then the bank.
This just keeps getting better and better… defending Kinsella, this guy also wants Pickton released,
so he can go find the real killers.
“If I were to speculate, I think this was a bunch of cops having some sick fun with women and
with the side effect of cleaning up the streets. They got snitched on and Willy’s an easy fall guy.”
I’m an atheist and I’m in favour of keeping the Lord’s Prayer in public debates. Why? Because in doing so, we acknowledge that there is a larger power than the individual.
I certainly reject any notion of a supreme metaphysical agent, setting up our world with intentionality. However, any consideration of the order, the organization, the complex networked pragmatics of our world – from the proton-electron interaction, the order of a biological cell and organism, the intricate interplay of our ecological environment — any consideration shows that there is a logical order, a ‘mind’, a..call it whatever you want – that far outstrips the powers of individual intention or random actions.
I call it universal ‘mind’ or ‘reason’. Others call it god. But the key point is that such a perspective, I think, acknowledges a networked intricate interactive complexity beyond the intrusive capacities of an individual.
By the way – the Gaia hypothesis, with that pure crap about ‘the matriarchy’ giving way to the ‘patriarchy’ is pure bunk. I’ve seen it in quite a few feminist university courses; it’s based on pure and utter ignorance of social organization.
Matriarchal organization, which privileges the women, is found in societies where the economy is based around the work of women. These are horticultural or non-plough gardening – and are only found in areas of the world which are amenable to this style and, and – where large domesticated animals don’t exist. It’s an econmic mode. Nothing to do with any intention of dominance.
Patriarchal organization, which privileges the men, is found in societies where the economic production requires the physical labour of the men. This is in hunting societies, in pastoral societies based around herding of large animals, and in agricultural (deep plough) societies. Again – zilch, nothing, nothing to do with any hidden agenda.
It’s amazing the utter ignorance these activists display.
Oh – and our Charter doesn’t privilege the individual. To the contrary. It privileges Groups. The group self-identity and ‘rights’ will always trump individual rights; that’s a serious basic flaw in that Charter. Therefore, any group can dominate individual freedom.
Obama should be careful of his photo ops. for a guy riding a one speech wonder he may get connected to the Rev’s constant diahria diatribe.
of course Im wishing it on him. like Im hoping Borat Dion will go for photo ops with Buzz.

Amen Brother! I’m another infidel who couldn’t care less what folks say or do prior to council meetings but, I take a keen interest on what is said and done DURING those meetings. Ayala and her ilk have insecurity issues that they want to share with the broader society.
Gaia- isn’t that the god that suzuki, layton, dion, gore and envirowackos pray to every minute.
Perhaps that message should also be banned as it is a religion.
Et says, “Oh – and our Charter doesn’t privilege the individual. To the contrary. It privileges Groups. The group self-identity and ‘rights’ will always trump individual rights; that’s a serious basic flaw in that Charter. Therefore, any group can dominate individual freedom.”
Of course, you’re right, and that is the central problem with the Charter: a Senior’s moment on my part…
But all an individual has to do is hitch their seriously twisted worldview to a group wagon, no matter how small or marginal, and off they go: to the Courts which, nine times out of ten, will allow their case to be heard, no matter how whacky and deranged it is.
RE: mary t said, -The Govenor of their states appoints their replacement to fill their term. That could be 2 republicans.-
Excellent observation mary t. Except the new governor of NY is Eliot Spitzer. So it will likely be the newly appointed jr. Senator from NY would be someone with the politics of Robert Kennedy Jr. In other words someone who could never win the seat in an election.
In 2006, the six biggest banks posted profits just over $19 billion.
Normally, I can never agree with anything the National Dipstick Party suggests. However when ATM fees are not charged to Euro and USA customers, yet remain pervasive in Canada, I tend to agree that Canadian banks can do away with them as well
Nineteen billion in profits seems to suggest the banks are prospering at our expense and so could afford to drop ATM fees without any risk to profits.
In fact, no fees may encourage more transactions, thereby counterbalancing the fees with added business.
NDP newsletter says;
**n 2005, Canadians used bank-owned ATMs to make over 700 million withdrawals. They used ATMs to make over 400 million other types of transactions. In doing so, Canadians had to cough up an estimated 420 million dollars to use their own money.**

The Orwellian ‘board of moderation’ at the BBC has gotten rid of any links to Little Green Footballs.
In response, one commentor noted:
“Increasingly it isn’t going to matter to the likes of Little Green Footballs whether or not the BBC links to them. The more pertinent question, in the not too distant future, is whether Little Green Footballs will allow links to the BBC.”
The banks’ shareholders are prospering at TG’s expense? Quick, shut down the free market. We can’t have people prospering. That just won’t do. Free robots for all I say. How? Why it’s as easy as N D P. Just raise taxes to 120%.
Ok, I’m just kidding. Sure the banks will lose money on every transaction under TG’s plan, but as he says, they’ll make it up by having more transactions.
If that group goes to court to ban the Lords Prayer, (didn’t work in the US, on a similar case) are they aware that the CCP has been cancelled, and they have to spend their own dime.
Might make a difference in their plans.
How many more messes will Harper have to clean up after the liberals, and how much will it cost us taxpayers. Probably less than if the libs get back at the trough. 10 million vs 400 million, so he has saved the taxpayer several million already, plus he got 80% of duties/tariffs for lumber companies. Saved us several million in legal fees for lib lawyers. I bet Arar is being watched very carefully by a lot of people, and his money will be followed to see where it goes.
He will spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
Happygilmore1972: I understand your confusion about the Pickton trial but it is as a result of very sloppy reporting.
There are actually two large properties about 1km apart owned jointly by the 3 Pickton kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. Robert, the oldest boy lived on a trailer on one of the propeties. Piggy’s Palace was located on the other property where his younger brother lived and this is where all the parties occured. The sister was married and had little interaction with the properties.
As far as I can tell from the media reports of the trial most of the remains were found on the property where Robert lived. They also found some remains beside Lougheed Hwy between Maple Ridge and Mission. They thoroughly searched the property which contained Piggy’s Palace but as of yet I have not heard that any remains were found there.
Many Port Coquitlam residents bought pork from the Picton farm. About 5 years ago when the romours hit that Pickton had disposed of the human remains in his pork rendering equipment, sales of pork sausauge dropped 25% across BC.
From the interview with Picton played at the trial it appears that the police have considered Picton’s brother, his “girlfriend”, and the bikers who frequented the properties. I can only assume the police found no evidence these others were involved. Many Poco residents who know Picton that I have talked to think that he was a nice guy if a little strange or even slow. Some believe he could not have committed these crimes by himself. He was previously charged with attempted murder on a women who was seen running naked from his property but these charges were later dropped.
He’s as dead as John Kerry’s chances of becoming a real human being instead of a mannequin.
Castro’s last shot was perhaps the one in the hospital gown. he looked about as far gone with cancer as my Mother was.
I know the signs all to well to my sorrow.
The Globe and Mail has a poll in today’s paper on the importance of climate change.
Under the value of The Very Top, there’s 20%
The Top Three, there’s 27%
The Top Five, there’s 12%
And Not that Big an Issue, there’s 41%.
So, the MSM screams that ‘climate change’ aka global warming is THE key issue are not substantiated by this admittedly unscientific poll. It’s there, but for 52%, there’s more to life. The apocalyptic types hold only 20% of the vote.
So, Harper’s ‘specific action’ environmental tactics are far easier to accept than the NDP and Dion’s transformation of the environment into a religious ideology.
Thank you for the info Fritz…I truly appreciate it.
I simply question everything put out by the media. As we all know, journalism falls quite short of the professionalism it used to be (or so we thought it was, it may be the present flow of information calls them on mis-reporting).
While it is a travesty and a disgusting chain of events, I personally do not care who did it but rather that justice is carried out properly.
I personally critically analyze everything I read and hear. I think we all owe it to ourselves to do so. Further, I think by participating (posting or simply reading) on sites such as this we are all ahead of the curve in being truly informed.
Neo, you completely missed my point, and I admit my ‘speculation’ is probably a reach and probably did not need to be included since that was not my point. What is unfortunate is that, rather than offer further insight such as Fritz has done and educate and debate, you chose the juvenile approach and attempted to question my intelligence both on this sight and here: http://hallsofmacadamia.blogspot.com/2007/01/kinsella-on-pickton.html#comment-1752505511565996572 .
Ironically, if Kinsella is guilty of anything it is his oft-displayed childishness approach to debate.
What continualy amazes me in respect to the Lord’s Prayer issue is the preposterous level of gaul that these characters manifest.
You know, religion seems to be the only subject out there where people can’t distinguish between the Nancy Drew level and the T.S. Elliot level.
The amount of work that has been done in theology, the philosphy of religions, the phenomenology of religious experience, the physiological correlates to mystical experience, the work on biochemical and brainwave changes would fill up a building the size of several football fields.
We have practically gotten to a point where it would be possible to introduce a subject called The Science of Religion. A good point to start would be the old book by Charles T. Tart entited Altered States of Consciousness. Among many other posts, he served as instructor of psychiatry at Virginia medical school.
In reality, politicians should be given very little leeway, because the transpersonal forces they are primarily guided are neither Jehovah or Elohim (the patriarchal and matriarchal names, respectively). Rather they are guided by their ego informed by their power drive.
And one would think that a person would have a little reservation about completely dismissing a practice that millions have found wisdom in for centuries.
Greg in Dallas :
Good points. As a Christian I view reality from the template that God exists, & from there you use that as a touch stone to veracity. Or mortal earthbound existence.
People who do not believe in God can arrive at similar conclusions as Christians do. Because some truths are transcendent. Particularly when it comes to human social interaction.
To bad fanatics on both sides obscure real forces at work weather there artificial or outside out material grasp of understanding. From my view this is all a creation including time. God only is the center of Reality to my mind. Where only the picture he painted of pale colors of his glory . Than he became part of His own Creation for our lives.
Religion if you believe it or not has effects in the human social sphere. As well as behavior in cultures. It as well embodies tried & true practices that have benefited uses for millennia for families, & individuals or Nations. You trifle with that like children with an h-bomb
Ill used it as we have seen it also causes immense destruction. But so can technology. Both are real & have empirical results. As has natural law. Which sides both view as authentic.
Its to bad you have evil folks who are meddling to their own advantage as usual. For gain or notoriety. From both sides. The socialists are the worse though. The blood of millions has run threw there greedy fingers.
Traditions are there to solidify society from my window. To have a rope from the past to the future to guide us. These acts confirm the image of ourselves we want to project as a people. Gives us a common cause.
To have none. As is human need, is to invite into this vacuum something alien that will eat us alive with out hope. A house divided will soon fall.
Just my opinion.

This morning’s Globe & Mail headline, ET, was: “Welcome to the new climate”. The sub-head ran: “Four out of five Canadians say they’ve seen it first hand”. Well, if we can use 4/3 of our natural gas to process oil, I see no reason why all of us can’t welcome the new climate seeing it first hand. Now, Vitruvius, you folks may say, that doesn’t make any sense. Yeah, I know, I was pretending to write for a newspaper world.

TG,
“when ATM fees are not charged to Euro and USA customers” I certainly don’t know where you got that information but with the exception of a few banks that are using the free ATM fees as a promotion, most banks I’ve dealt with in the US, Canada and Australia charge ATM fees. Many give you x amount of free transactions but charge fees none the less. It is called the cost of doing business.
The real question is: “Do you want the convenience of having a bank service on every street corner or go back to the good old days of going down to the bank (between 10 am and 2 pm of course)”?
What gives me pause on the Picton trial is what appears to be sloppy investigative work.
1. His property was searched on an illegal gun suspicion. What cause was there for this search?
2. He was questioned for hours, over 11 hours straight, without his lawyer present.
3. He was held in jeoprady for 5 years; not a speedy trial.
I’m afraid to hear just what his lawyer will make a motion for after the Prosecutor presents it’s case.
Your Worship, I move for a mistrial?
I hope my concerns are due to sloppy MSM reporting as in happygilmore’s case.
“He was questioned for hours, over 11 hours straight, without his lawyer present.”

Re the G&M headline on the new climate and cdns concern. Guess they didn’t look at the poll results. This poll has been up since at least 12.11a.m, Alberta time and I posted the results.
Question is of all the issues in the coming election, where do you place the environment
12.11a.m. 9.53 am 3.12p.m.
Top issue 19% 21% 20%
One of top 3 24% 28% 26%
one of top 5 12% 12% 12%
not an issue 45% 39% 42%
no. of votes 5070 13823 21396
With 42% saying they could care less, where are the media, dion, may and layton and of course the cbc getting their info. Wonder if the fact Harper has now gone green their main argument is a non starter.
And, where is Peter Rather, and the hype on viewership for lmotp.
Yes, vitruvius, I saw the G&M contradiction to their own poll. It’s quite neat – four out of five, ie, 80% of Canadians affirm ‘global warming’, and they/we ‘fear for our children and our grandchildren’.
I fear for them too, if we can’t do a basic mathematical exercise. If, according to the G&M poll on citizen’s concerns about that very same climate change, 42% basically don’t give a damn, while, according to the G&M front page, 80% do give a damn to such an extent that this 80% is in deep apocalyptic ‘fear for our children and grandchildren’…well….hmmm.
Let’s see. 80 and 42 add up to, err, hmm, er…122. That’s 122%. But a total population can only be 100%. So, umm,err.. that extra 22%…uhhh.
I fear for our children and grandchildren too, with a G&M that is ‘mathematically challenged’ by the content of its own paper.
Here’s what I don’t understand, ET. Based on what I do understand about the history of the media, it’s always been like this. Go back 100 years, and the media was just as sensationalist as it is now. Has it ever not been the case that if it bleeds it leads? And yet we’ve progressed majestically over the last 100 years, the last 1,000 years, and the last 10,000 years. What does that mean?
Agreed, the media, whether in print or in the gossip of the local market, has always been sensationalist and completely disinterested in ‘the facts’. It will always be like this; after all our cognitive process begins in the senses. For many, that’s where it remains and is simply translated into ‘the sensational’. But for others, cognition moves from the senses to the interpretation…and this requires evidence and reason. We move from fiction to fact.
And, as John Adams said – “Facts are stubborn things and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictums of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence”.
Aristotle insisted on reality – “The object of perception is, it appears, prior to the act of perception…the annihilation of perception does not cancel the existence of the perceptible’ (Categories 7b35).
So, no matter how much sophistry is in the air, whether from the relativism of postmodernism with its rejection of facts and its rejection of the possibility of truth, or from the utopias of socialism, communism, fascism which establish totalitarian regimes….well, facts remain; they exist. Reality exists.
Sisyphus, as you know, confronted facts. So did Odysseus, the ‘man of many wiles’. And the West, because of its population pressures, was the first and remains the most important population, that has focused its entire social order around – facts. That’s what the Declaration of Independence is all about, after all – the power of the individual to face facts. That’s why the West became supreme in science, which is ‘all about facts’.
I still don’t understand how 122% of the population can exist…Are 22% virtual? Are they aliens? Are they the editors of the G&M? Are..?
And Aldous Huxley said, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored”. Of course, Mr. Huxley also said, “An atheist is a person who has no invisible means of support”.
It’s interesting that you mention Sisyphus, ET. Though it seems sometimes like we’re always pushing the media and the state up one side of the hill only have them roll down the other side, I’ve always found Albert Camus’ take on the matter comforting, when he wrote:
“I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain! One always finds one’s burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night filled mountain, in itself forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man’s heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.”
Obama is dead meat, when the Hildabeast’s election war machine gets into full gear, he’ll be reduced to roadkill. He’ll wake up some morning staring at the Drudge site not even realizing he was a serial killer, pedophile predator, slapped his mother, cheated on his wife and played poker with Osama Bin Laden at age 12. It’s coming.
The media today is the perfect example of that old joke, an inebriated man, with perfume reeking and lipstick on his cheek, being met at the door by his spouse and saying, are you going to believe me or your eyes.
I don’t think, Penny, that Mr. Obama is in this one to win. I think he’s in to place or show. I think that at some point during the primaries he’ll throw to a leader and cash in his chips, and run for real at some future time. Considering that Jackson and Sharpton don’t like him because with him they can’t play the white guilt card, I doubt that Mr. Obama is divisive enough for the Democrats at this time. Of course, I’ve been wrong before.
Vitruvius – agree. He in his hearts of hearts knows the prize isn’t his this election cycle. Are the Dems throwing him out there to sniff out the black vote if he joins the ticket with Hillary? Probably.
Never take your eyes off Hillary Clinton, though. She’s a monster with a teflon coating, protected by the MSM. She will say and do anything to get elected. When you are sleeping, she’s not.
This is the election of(for) our lives here.
