Diane West on Obama’s statement at the U.N. General Assembly that “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam”:

No Big Media outlet reported this stunning pronouncement. It’s as if Ronald Reagan addressed the National Association of Evangelicals in 1983 and the media failed to report that he used the phrase “evil empire.” To make the comparison more direct, imagine if a Republican president declared that “the future must not belong to those who slander the messiah of Christianity” — or, for that matter, the prophet of Latter-day Saints. We would have heard all about it, and for the rest of our lives.

The Saviour Sanctions Child Soldiers

“When a little boy is kidnapped, turned into a child soldier, forced to kill or be killed — that’s slavery,” Obama said in a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative. “It is barbaric, and it is evil, and it has no place in a civilized world. Now, as a nation, we’ve long rejected such cruelty.”
But for the third year in a row, Obama has waived almost all U.S. sanctions that would punish certain countries that use child soldiers, upsetting many in the human rights community.

Oh, I don’t know, maybe because the Pope didn’t take up arms, commit war in civilian garb, or kill a medic while pretending to be wounded?

With virtually no warning, the iron ore price fell off a cliff in August, plummeting about 30%. It was below US$85 a tonne by early September, compared with almost US$200 a tonne in 2010.
It was due to events in China, where iron ore demand vanished overnight as steelmakers went on a buyer’s strike and liquidated their inventories. This was the first major blow to the iron-ore market since the 2008 financial crisis, and it provided a hint of what a prolonged Chinese slowdown could mean for this sector.

On Sunday night, Spanish-language station Univision— one of the only networks to provide critical coverage of President Obama’s failures in office instead of cream-puff interviews — broke open the Fast and Furious investigation, revealing new evidence of weapons smuggling and displaying shocking new images of the bloody aftermath of the government-supported gun-smuggling program.
The Univision report undermines the integrity of the recently released DOJ inspector general report on Operation Fast and Furious, already heavily criticized as an attempt to whitewash criminal activity within the Obama administration.
The hour-long Univision report revealed the existence of another 57 guns recovered by Mexican authorities, including some of those used in the mass-murder at a party just one year after Obama’s inauguration…

The Navy’s plan that is under consideration would cover Ford Island’s 4,000-foot runway and 14 acres of adjoining land with 60,000 solar-energy panels. The goal is to convert at least 50% of the Navy’s energy demands to alternative sources by 2020.
The Pacific Aviation Museum has opposed the proposed project because it says it does not respect the runway’s significance in American history.
“Consider the hue and cry should a 60,000-panel project be located at Gettysburg or Valley Forge,” the museum said in a written statement.
