Anti-Semitist Propaganda: What’s Old is New Again!

This cartoon recently appeared in The Guardian newspaper:

Is it not most interesting how The Guardian’s in-house cartoonist, Steve Bell, is copying the “Jew as Puppet Master” meme of Islamic cartoonists and, more disturbingly, those of the German Nazi regime from 70-80 years ago?
This video provides further insight into the age-old technique of blaming Jews for all of a society’s ills:

Stick It To Trudeau

A (admittedly distasteful) poll goes horribly wrong… – “By the time I had to select my third and fourth pick, the important prime ministers on my list had already been chosen so I was left with a befuddling dilemma. Against all instincts, I selected Stephen Harper (2006-Present). My rationale at the time was to select another strong-headed figure, but at the other end of the political spectrum.”

It’s a long boring page, the poll is at the bottom. But this may save you some time…

Y2Kyoto: Conservative War On Science

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
CBC, November 19th – In perhaps his most forceful comments on climate change to date, [Environment Minister Peter] Kent says the recent Hurricane Sandy that devastated parts of the U.S. East Coast is putting the issue top of mind…”
Steven Goddard, October 20th – October hurricanes used to occur about once every 1.7 years, but now they only occur about once every 5.1 years.

We Don’t Need No Stinking Giant Mirrors

Supporters hailed the Desertec Industrial Initiative as the most ambitious solar energy project ever when it was founded in 2009. Major industrial backers pledged active involvement, politicians saw a win-win proposition and environmentalists fawned over Europe’s green energy future. For a projected budget of €400 billion ($560 billion), the venture was to pipe clean solar power from the Sahara Desert through a Mediterranean super-grid to energy-hungry European countries.
Today, a scant three years later, there is still little to show for the project but the ambition.

Inconvenient Fiscal Cliff Facts

The Joint Committee on Taxation found that raising the tax on millionaires (the so-called Buffet Rule) to 30% federal would raise $5 billion per year.
Worse, if the Democrats passed all of their tax increase wish list – Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation concluded the best case scenario (if no one changes their behaviour) – would raise $82 billion…..or just 7% of the current deficit.
In short there is simply no possibility that the Fiscal Cliff will be solved without MASSIVE spending cuts. Don’t tell that to a lefty like CNN’s Candy Crowley though, as the math simply does’t fit this idiot’s fantasy….. as she proved on Sunday’s State of the Union when she pitched Tax Hikes Without Even Mentioning Spending Cuts

IMF Considering Loonie As Reserve Currency

Financial Post:

The IMF plan comes as Australia and Canada have shown more signs of stability in the fallout of the 2008 financial crisis than the world’s biggest developed economies. While the U.S., to the U.K. to Japan have been coping with increasing debt loads, deficits in Canada and Australia are forecast to be below 5% of gross domestic product in 2012 and are expected to shrink.
“It really helps to cement the stability of these currencies,” Ravi Bharadwaj, a market analyst in Washington at Western Union Business Solutions, a unit of Western Union Co., said in a telephone interview.
