Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Dumbest bastards on the planet.
Rick is right, and these people are getting the government and results they deserve for continuing to vote for the wackos.
No doubt the people of Kalifornica will be happy when all the onions in their super markets come from China and the fields are seeded to grass.
The greentard solutions always seem to involve fantasy solutions, that do not exist, but believe that “the need for the technology will invent the market”.
No, the businesses will move to a friendlier market, where egregious taxes do not exist, and deprive the former locale of their fantasy taxes.
The only way the greentard concept works, is if we see a draconian eco-fascist regime take charge. God help us all.
Note also that these regulations go against the US Congress laws. The House rejected Cap and Trade regulations. So what did Obama do?
He ignored Congress and its constitutional requirement to be the sole legislative body. He has the EPA make these regulations; the EPA has nothing to do with Congress, yet, it actually makes laws! How can Congress allow this unelected Obama-group get away with such a violation of the Constitution?! Yet it does.
If Congress and the American people won’t stand up to the actions of a dictator, then, the results..are theirs.
Unfortunately, alot of these idiots are leaving the state but then vote for the Dems and the same policies that they’re fleeing in the new states they’ve moved to.
I jest not when I say its not to far off before in California when they will strap gas meters to you’re bum to Tax Methane.
Than have the people line up for inspection once a month.
In schools of course.
January 1st is when 2003 and older model year heavy diesels are required to retrofit a DPF (diesel particulate filter) at a cost between $10,000-$15,000. Many drivers refer to these older trucks as the “last of the good ones”. 2004+ brought on EGR and many other reliability/MPG/overall cost issues. My 2002 model year truck will never see an inch of California highway after the new year. My truck is one that is impossible to retrofit.
Good riddance.
Well at least they’ll have clean air while they starve to death. Unless the smog from China and India arrives, or there is a volcanic eruption to put ash and toxins in the air.

At least the Californian post-apocalyptic films will become more realistic.
ps. Wasn’t SDA advertising for some captcha-alternative startup? Wouldn’t this be a good spot to implement it?
I’m wondering whether California is going to go after one of the largest source of CO2 emissions in that state – the country of Mexico? Each illegal immigrant from Mexico breathes out CO2 every few seconds and the total carbon footprint of this population is huge. Also, this particular population tends to be very fecund producing miniature CO2 generators at a rate far exceeding the abortion obsessed native population. Given a diet high in lentils, the illegal immigrant population also produces high levels of other organic greenhouse gasses.
I won’t hold my breath while I wait for the state of California to send a bill to the country of Mexico for carbon taxes owing on the illegal Mexican exports.
Follow the money.
Like Rick says, dumb bastards.
Why didn’t they just copy Dildo McDinky’s brilliant green energy model? You know, the one Ontario’s sharp voters endorsed.
I mean, they could be in the land of milk and honey today – like we are.
andycanuck nails the real problem. Like virus particles that kill off their host cell then spread to another, liberals/lefties flee the jurisdictions they’ve wrecked only to push for the same dysfunctional policies is the jurisdictions they’ve moved to. We’re seeing this in Alberta. In an ideal world, the libs would be forced to stay in their home jurisdictions and using their own finances, not transfers from outsiders, succeed or fail by the policies they’ve implemented. They might actually learn as a result. Unfortunately, the consequences of their dysfunction end up being fobbed off on everyone but the perps. We all suffer as a result.
Cali-fornication, the last bastion of fundamentalist self-destructive liberalism.
They(lib activist politicos) will bankrupt and impoverish the state “for the better good”. This is a state where agenda 21 termites have been eroding the foundations of land use/property ownership at all levels of government for decades. Now they’ve let lose the dogs of corruption with the carbon trading corporate slight of hand. This is a scheme designed by insider profiteers like Al Gore and Moe Stlong to eliminate the competition and concentrate industrial ownership in a small codre od insiders. Carbon credit trading for tax rates is a big boy’s game, pnly the larger companies can absorb these losses, sooner or later all the small players are either absobed by bigger interests or go chapter 11. It’s abiut the UN agenda to concentrate the ownership of economic engines to make private enterprise reliant/capitulate.
It isn’t a matter of Cal. legislators being dumb ( I think most realize the AGW/GHG gig is up) they are just more openly corrupt and agenda-driven than most other states. The people of Calf. have been out of control ever since they voted against taxes and turfed a bad governor out of office, only to find the alternatives are worse.
Wow…so the Krazy Kalifornians are actually requiring DPF’s on 03 and older.?? Ya know..I’ve owned a diesel truck for 7 years. It is my ardent belief that with the greater # of emissions equipment added to our trucks, there is a direct proportional reduction in fuel mileage. GM for ex. 200-2004 Duramax LB7 motors – stock could easily attain 23-24mpg..better when tuned. 04-06 LLY was slightly less to 21-22 mpg. 06/07.5 classics would get ~18 the newer ones getting less and less mileage per Gallon as time went on. RESULT…they use more fuel. End net benefit…likely ZERO.
Imagine that eh…instead of looking at ways to make a said amount of mass travel a said distance using the least amount of fuel … they keep their collective heads up their collective (_i_)’s and pile on ever more restrictive emissions BS. Mines an 06 LBZ…no kitty, no EGR nadda…tuned with water/meth injection: ~23 mpg. nuff said.
It’s comical that California is lagging the East Coast USA for once… there’s been a failing Cap N Trade Lite in New England and much of the Atlantic coast (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania I believe) for a few years now. Each year the fuel costs go up, the subsidies “unexpectedly” raise less money for the green causes, and nobody seems to know why.
At least, nobody inside the blue/green hive mind.
So California will now fail at something that has already been failing elsewhere in the USA for years. Congratulations! California has gone from green leader to follower! Marxists everywhere can rejoice. [End sarc tag here.]
Personally, i think that since they have gone this far in an attempt to turn back time, they should now undo the diversion of water from the Owens Valley to LA.
How can Congress allow this unelected Obama-group get away with such a violation of the Constitution?
This has been going on since 1913, with short-lived attempts before that.
Obama isn’t the first…
