Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Kudos to Giannini for loaning to low income earners in an era when thrift was part of the culture. In four years, we haven’t recovered from the housing bubble crash and recession caused in great part by Uncle Sam acting like George Bailey in an era of irresponsibility and sloth.
Giannini had one thing that most bankers don’t have these days. The ability to judge a man on his character. That is why he is now remembered. He was a man of character and could spot it a mile away. The bankers of today, once again, are like most of those in bygone days, only lending to the rich or those who don’t need a loan. That being said, there a fewer who have the integrity to deserve the opportunity to receive a loan, as the issue of character has become a caricature.
