I had never heard of Janice Charette prior to her getting appointed to be the chief trade negotiator for Canada in upcoming negotiations with the U.S. Here’s a summary of her track recard:
The most significant and widely discussed controversy involves Charette’s recommendation to invoke the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history to address the Freedom Convoy protests against COVID-19 mandates in Ottawa in early 2022. As Clerk, she advised the government on this, and Prime Minister Trudeau later stated that her formal recommendation as the top public servant played a major role in his decision to proceed.
The invocation was later ruled unreasonable and beyond legal authority (“ultra vires”) by a Federal Court, which found it infringed on Charter rights (freedom of expression under section 2(b) and unreasonable search and seizure under section 8).
I’m sure we’re in the best of hands.

Have Breast Cancer Rates Skyrocketed?
I have a 39 year old friend in NYC who is battling breast cancer. I have another friend in her 40’s in Chicago who is also battling breast cancer. Three years ago, I had two friends in their 50’s, in Chicago and Houston respectively, battling breast cancer.
The Manhattan friend just shared this with me. While I can’t verify the 20 year average age drop in breast cancer since the Covid jab, I have my strong suspicions.

In a recent podcast, Adam Carolla played this diatribe by Bruce Springsteeen on May 14, 2025 in Manchester, UK.
Carolla pointed out that while Springsteen intended it as a rant against Donald Trump, his words actually much more apply to @Kamala Harris & the corpse aka Joe Biden during Covid.

Compared with the study’s central estimate of ~2.5 million lives saved, this supports the authors’ statement that vaccine-related deaths were “probably” about two orders of magnitude lower than benefits at the population level.
The critical word is “probably.”

FDA expands probe: Commissioner claims Biden administration withheld data on heart risk
The Food and Drug Administration has expanded its investigation of deaths possibly linked to the Covid vaccine to include adults as well as children, according to a Trump administration official.
…“F.D.A. is doing a thorough investigation, across multiple age groups, of deaths potentially related to Covid vaccines,” Andrew Nixon, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services, said on Tuesday.
The broader review follows a memo in late November by Dr. Vinay Prasad, the F.D.A.’s top vaccine regulator, who informed staff members that the agency had linked about 10 children’s deaths to the Covid shots. He highlighted the dangers of myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, which the agency has for years cautioned is a rare but worrying side effect, especially among teenage boys and young men.
Daily Mail: In the study, published yesterday in Science Translational Medicine, scientists analyzed in the lab the blood of people who received the Covid vaccine. In those who also developed myocarditis, the researchers found higher levels of two proteins, CXCL10 and IFN-gamma.
