I was very fortunate to capture this image a few days ago, about 15 minutes before the sun set below the horizon:

Vancouver’s Magnificent Cherry Blossoms
In Japanese they’re called “Sakura” but English speakers know them as Cherry Blossoms. They are only in bloom for a short period every year. For residents of Vancouver & Victoria they signify the end of winter and that summer is just around the corner. It’s a very special time of the year.

This photo was taken last month at the Kaneohe Bay Airshow on Oahu:

The juxtaposition of the little girl wearing that shirt, standing beside that gun was too hilarious not to capture. A funny caption is clearly awaiting this photo but what would it be?

The Spectacular Reagan Library
A recent visit to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California rendered some lasting memories.

For those younger folks who aren’t very familiar with President Ronald Reagan, here’s a good synopsis of his time in that role (video).
Update: This is a famous speech given by Reagan in 1964 – h/t Marc in Calgary

Dennis Prager & Adam Carolla Together on Stage
This past Saturday evening, radio talkshow host Dennis Prager and podcast phenom Adam Carolla appeared on stage together at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in California. Though Prager is a devout Jew and Carolla is an atheist, it was remarkable to see that the two men share very similar values on most things.
I was very privileged to have been able to photograph both shows that evening. It was a most memorable event that I will not soon forget. If they ever do release the shows on video, I would highly recommend you get a copy, as you will not be disappointed by the insight, wisdom, and wit.

Things You See on America’s Left Coast
Winter is Alive & Well in America’s Emerald City
Only the most ardent global warming fanatics in America’s Pacific Northwest city of Seattle are still adamant that the world is warming up. The city was pounded with a massive snowstorm that is still wreaking havoc, even as the snow melts. To add insult to injury, the Los Angeles Times decided to refer to Seattle residents as “wimps”. One could say that that’s “the pot calling the kettle black” but in 2012 that might be deemed racist!
