  1. Years ago we were in Tuscany with 3 kids under 10 (they complained about missing Trick or Treating) that Halloween week and got a bit lost on the way to San Gimignano. Ate lunch and took the lift to the hilltop fortress that dated to about 900 AD. Cobblestone streets and everything decorated for the Halloween/Day of the Dead Festival. Like a Halloween party on steroids.
In what would have been the Keep, there was an Italian tribute to the cartoon show The Simpsons. We still laugh about the translation of one of the cartoons referring to the “typical American diet of beer and donuts.”
I think the satire was lost on them.
That church reminds me of that hilltop and that day. It would have been at home there.

  2. @ Cal,
Yes, the Lutheran church at Dalum was built by Danish immigrants. There is an almost identical one in Calgary, in Crescent Heights.

Halloween is a go! I love this time of year.

  4. Lovely church. You can see how stark it must have been before they added that pretty step ornamentation to the roof.
I’ll give Halifax this, there are some really cool graveyards. Unfortunately it’s pouring out, so I anticipate a sucky Hallowe’en tonight.
