Catherine Tait and crew have to be a Pierre Poilievre sleeper cell.
Payments to CBC vice presidents are a half million each, CEO Catherine Tait yesterday disclosed at the Commons heritage committee. One Liberal MP defended the pay, saying executives were motivated by “love of country.”

If you want an example of the CBC’s bias, and why the organization needs to be defunded, take a look at its coverage of the Montreal riots tonight.
Unlike CTV and the Montreal Gazette, CBC conspicuously omitted any mention of the fact that the rioters were pro-Palestinian activists. I guess they wanted to spare the Palestinian cause any bad press.

Three things come to mind while watching this:
- This is being aired on Canadian public television, paid for by ALL taxpayers.
- This is why Canadians are so dumb, especially when it comes to the American political system.
- Justin Trudeau is responsible for this garbage being aired. Can @thevivafrei bring this to the attention of Trump et al?!

Catherine Tait, $497,000-a year CEO of the CBC, yesterday confirmed she billed taxpayers $1,000 a night to enjoy a five star hotel in Paris in July. Tait said taxpayers would have been concerned if she didn’t attend the Paris Olympics.
“Well I was on holiday,” replied Tait. “That is why I did not ask CBC to pay for my airfare. Nevertheless when I want to the Games I was working on behalf of CBC.”

Dispatches from the Maple Gulag Truck Stop

Yesterday evening, Thursday August 29, saw the end of sentencing hearings for Tony Olienick and Chris Carbert at Court of King’s Bench in Lethbridge, Alberta. Those hearings lasted four days, with both the Crown and Defense presenting various arguments for what they believed would be appropriate sentences regards the minor charges both men were found ‘guilty’ of in relation to the major charge of ‘conspiring to murder police officers’, for which they were found NOT GUILTY.
Final sentencing has been adjourned until September 9th, as briefs were submitted by the defense late on Wednesday evening, to my mind possibly related to the very concerning rhetoric of Justice Labrenz which was heard on Tuesday.

The Canadian Press take the jobs their employees can’t do.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. paid out $18.4 million in bonuses this year after hundreds of jobs at the public broadcaster were eliminated.
Documents obtained through access to information laws show CBC/Radio-Canada paid bonuses to 1,194 employees for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
More than $3.3 million of that sum was paid to 45 executives.
That means those executives got an average bonus of over $73,000, which is more than the median family income after taxes in 2022, according to Statistics Canada.
