30 Replies to “Amateur Hour”

    1. … with his LGBTQueeredup family? His trans son, daughter, son, daughter, ambiguously trans gender fluid offspring deserves a nice Italian vacation on the taxpayer dime too!

    1. Why be concerned about PP? He has absolutely no power or say in the matter. Liberal majority is dictatorship, and the opposition is basically frozen out.

      1. “Why be concerned about PP? He has absolutely no power or say in the matter. ”

Because he is the supposed leader of the Official Opposition, and as such he should be calling out Carney for his actions so far and offering Canadians an alternative. Sadly, though, Poilievre doesn’t offer an alternative: he offers *more of the same*.

  1. Amateur Hour? while not wanting to disagree with Robert’s use of the term “amateur hour” … If they were merely amateurs, they’d be trying to join the pro tour… they’d do their best, and at some point be called up to the major leagues… I see no evidence of quality of governance here, it not being a question of amateur or professional, but more like “whose side are these people on?” “Where’s the competence, and who do you think you’re actually working for?”

I imagine that Italy looks great in August and I can’t fault the PM for staying there to enjoy their hospitality, I’m much more likely to head for the north-ish though and if were the PM I’d look around for a place just like that to settle in, and not be the PM anymore, or ever.
The need for power rules some (most?) and I can understand why he’s wanted the job, but I don’t understand how or why he wouldn’t try to “do better” for the country (that’s the point isn’t it?) instead of merely trying to do Brookfield better. At some point in his life he’ll look back and say “we did this” and sure it may have been fun but… If you mention the past ten PM’s to the average Joe and ask if any stand out as being idiotic or evil or simply terrible, many will mention Mulroney, Chretien, Trudeau… regardless of where they stand politically, and the current guy is set to join them in that legacy, and I can’t understand this. Why would someone do this? He has the money to live on his own forever in Italy and not be troubled by cold Canada’s issues. It appears to be outside of politics as to his reason for being in politics.
It’s kaka, the entire federal gov’t, ruled by kaka, and telling us it’s good for us.

I expect the worst for Canada in the trade negotiations, the only surprise for me would be a good agreement.
In 2 months there’ll be referendum here in AB for those wanting to separate from Canada’s broken promises (i.e. “Canadians deserve good government”)
The polling on this isn’t showing a win for us, 30% at best now… yet I doubt the polling as it doesn’t count those angry vs happy to stay, and who will likely vote vs those complacent and willing to stay wallowing in what we’ve got…
They typically ask “if a vote were held today which would you vote for?” and not, “are you going to vote and if so, ONLY if so, which of these two will you vote for?”
And companies like Ekos Research takes the federal gov’t cash and passes itself off as being accurate polling… uff.
Some of my neighbors have the Canadian posters displayed proudly on their lawn. I drive by thinking “they’re vaxed too, to the max vaxed” and “all vaxed all the time” … I suspect some took the Monkey-Pox vax too, remember that one? lol… still seeing a few people in stores with masks on, and driving alone in cars with a mask on. Those folks don’t need to put Canada stickers on their masks, I already know…

    1. This is my feeling. He’s winning. And the Pony won as well. Little #ShinyPony won every single thing for 10 years.

Yep, getting everything he wants. A failed trade negotiation is the goal and has been all along. If they wanted a deal, they’d have one.

      1. Agree, Phantom.
He has never wanted the deal to succeed. His actions and words both broadcast that.
Once it fails, the “Blame Trump” narrative will fire up again, and he can coast to as many election victories as he wants, as the MSM and other usual sycophants grease the road to power.
It will be Elbows Up 2.0

    2. “30% at best now… ”

      Polls.
You know, the Forever Canaduh side supposedly got 400K signatures and the Free Alberta side got under 300K, but the standard for signup was unequal.
Remember there were/are people like Jason Kenney throwing the word “TREASON” around and publicly signing for Freedom has a cost unlike signing for the Status Quo.

It’s different when you get to cast an anonymous ballot. I just hope there is a good turnout in October.

    3. Marc, you’re a wise man! I intentionally kept things short & sweet with this post.

In another post on another platform, I wrote this:

I just watched this discussion https://youtube.com/watch?v=PZCOmNHyUMs
It’s a very interesting discussion that every Canadian should watch.

Where I disagree with Mario Zelaya is the premise that “Mark Carney May Not Recover From This”. Here is why: I don’t believe that Carney and the federal Liberals are doing ANYTHING in the best interest of Canadians. I strongly believe they are taking directions from a group of people above the Canadian government, and very likely outside of Canada. So, as long as Carney satisfies what his real bosses want and the Liberals continue to control the legacy media like the puppets they are, nothing will change – the sheeple will continue to buy into the Elbows Up narrative. Finally, make no mistake, there will be a new boogeyman after Trump exits office.

Thus, Marc, I think you & I are on exactly the same page about why these trade negotiations appear, at first glance, to be floundering.

  2. There is no ‘good’ outcome, when (not if) the Marxist Carnage team fails to negotiate a deal this week. They don’t appear serious about it, it’s just posturing and politics to them.
    For the peons, it’s everything.
50% tariffs on many, new diverse goods, and continued tariffs on everything else that is in decline. Are there any Liberals that aren’t pointy headed academics or ideological zealots?
Their destructive solution? More and bigger subsidies and “interest free loans”. LOL.
This isn’t going to end well. We ain’t seen real deficits yet, and they’ll be coming after us for ever higher and new taxes. This just accelerates the financial death spiral.
Will it be Argentine style, Greek style, or Spanish style?
I’m betting on Greek, given the Rainbow Cult that the Liberals embrace!
Thank you PhD Economic Genius! ElBoWz uP!

  3. The comments are brutal, especially the number who have come to realize that this conflict is almost all about the odious Quebec dairy cartel. The Liberals *and* the CPC both voted to enshrine that dairy Mafia into law, so it should be really interesting to see how they try to weasel out of it now.

The other interesting thing was how many people now realize that it was Canada, not the US, who repeatedly violated the USMCA in the first place, prompting the initial tariffs to be imposed by President Donald Trump. To hear the MSM tell it, Canada was the victim of a sudden illegal and unfair “attack” on our economy and an attempt to take us over. Total BS.

    1. “The Liberals *and* the CPC both voted to enshrine that dairy Mafia into law, so it should be really interesting to see how they try to weasel out of it now.”

Yup. Like little froggies slowly cooking in their own piss.

      1. No laws are perpetual. Alberta should withhold transfer payments pending updated US and inter-provincial trade agreements. Money talks, bullshit walks.

          1. kay beck handles finances brilliantly. they’ve sucked about a trillion xfer payments over time, their pension is separate from CPP, lots of interprovincial trade barriers favouring them.
there will never be a gas pipeline from some of the biggest deposits in the world to eastern canaduh, THEY for their part continue to vote FOR the fed party that enshrines that arrangement.
we are a population of string puppets.

  4. Canada had two options. Side with US or side with the globalist model. Your “elected” PM is the globalist model. I imagine most Canadians don’t understand this. CBC is in the bag and Canada is being whored out and sold off to China because the British Imperial financial system is in deep doo-doo. Carney is in charge of extracting every drop of revenue that he can. He is a private equity vulture and Canada, not a sovereign nation, is in liquidation.
Carney’s in Italy, selling off Canada. Trade deals with the US do not concern him. He has other pockets to line.

  5. regarding the dairy cartel, it amuses me a plastic bag or 1 litre carton of milk can last longer than it takes to go sour. in which case the puppies get an extra treat in their supper that day,
they sure as shyt aint leaning on ME to sustain demand.

  6. Caring is a waste of energy.
The Forever Government is about the Forever Government.
    Nothing else matters.
Carney is just a figurehead like the black-faced retard before him.

Why overload the nation with millions of low IQ beach shitters, frothing-at-the-mouth Islamist cousin-fckers, good ol rapey spear-chuckers and tens of thousands of career gang criminals.
It ain’t economically astute but it IS societal suicide.

Remember how things were in 2006?
    See how they are now.
What kind of horror show is it going to be in 20 years?

  7. Carney’s dithering on a trade deal leads me to believe the end goal is to purposely bankrupt the country…..so that Brookfield can buy it up for pennies on the dollar.

  8. Heh,why should Marx Carnage not hangout in Italy?
    His work here is done.
    There will be no deal.
    Exactly as planned.
    Brookfield for the win.

  9. The Carney strategy has been rag the puck.
It’s just recently that they realized Trump doesn’t care if there isn’t a deal.
The US economy is not wholly dependent on its neighbour to retain its economy.
    Guess who is?
