  1. As usual, if this was of any value, private capital investors would be involved. They are avoiding it because they know that the estimate will balloon and the time will double, at least. And there is no commercial case for this railway. None. Never has been.

    1. I bet the Lieberals make Mad Maggie Trudeau the CFO for the hi speed rail company 😉
Justine Trudeau will be DEI officer at 10 million snow pesos a year plus a company car … a Barbie car!!
Ha Ha … I had to check for the correct spelling of Barbie … tried it with just an i and then just a y and then used the old internet 😉

  2. I’m fine with Canada building a high speed rail between their 2 most important areas as long as Alberta and Sask (BC doesn’t have the funds for this) doesn’t have to pay for it. It isn’t an endeavor of national standing, it’s bi-provincial, perhaps something that only Ontario and Quebec should be involved with.

If it costs $90 billion, or $180 billion, is of no consequence to Alberta or the west.

      1. Not at all, but if they just print the money there’s the possibility they’ll be able to hold that cash until “just before” they have to pay the suppliers and builders for this… and that there’s the sweet spot.

        possible sarcasm.

  3. If Liberals were dogs we’d proclaim them rabid and shoot them, such is their pathological madness.

  4. Nasa plans to spend $20 billion on a base on the moon.

Canada plans to spend $90 billion to build high speed track from Montreal to Quebec City.

Never answered is why they aren’t going between the 2 larger population centers first.

  5. So let me get this right. A high speed rail-line between Quebec, Montreal, and Toronto at what cost exactly and how will it be powered, wind-power, solar, or flatulent eruptions from Ottawa? When are the Liberals, NDP and Greenies going to realize that if they don’t unleash the oil in Alberta and transport it to both coasts then this rail-line is going to be dead on arrival and the country will follow suit shortly thereafter.

  6. Don’t forget we are in Year 2 of AtkinsRealis’s 5-year, 5-billion dollar contract to engineer this white elephant.
(Hint: AtkinsRealis’s former corporate name was SNC-Lavalin)

Liberals are entitled to their entitlements.

  7. Ahem! The point isn’t to build a high speed rail but to commission study after study by consulting firms with mutually advantageous links to Liberal party.
