  1. You can’t treat the Revolutionary Guard of a theocracy who fully expect the hidden 12th imam to appear like you would rational Canadians.

Mom used to threaten to “skin me alive” — would she have done that? Dunno, but it got the message thru my brain. Maybe childhoods in Canada are different?

    1. Reminds me of Bill Cosby’s father’s line “I brought you into this world and I can take you out”!

      1. And Russell Peters’ dad’s (oft repeated?) threat, ” Somebody gonna get hurt!”

  2. Might last 3 days, then what will the Libtoids say when Iran breaks this?
Enjoy the nervous breakdowns FILTHY LIBERALS when Real Men protect our country from 7th century inbred retards with Missiles and Child Rape Gangs.

      1. The 5 minute mark can be ignored — ceasefires take time to be communicated. Hours into it are another story and point to different issues: breakdown in comms, fracturing of regime, or they just decided to be dips and broke it. None of these are a good look for the IR. Of course the media spin will be something else entirely, but that is also an opportunity.

    1. The US is losing the war [sic] … so it must have been the US/Trump who chickened out. Right?

      1. By most reliable accounts, it was China that blinked. The US is self-sufficient in energy. China isn’t.

  3. “Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case, which is why leverage often requires imagination, and salesmanship. In other words, you have to convince the other guy it’s in his interest to make the deal.”
― Donald J. Trump, Trump: The Art of the Deal

    1. Or perhaps all the Iranian clerics concluded that it is far better to be banging human virgins than dead ones in Muzzie Hell.

  4. Apparently China also was involved in convincing Iran to negotiate. Obviously they are in dire need of their oil at cheaper prices.

  5. Amazing how fast the lame nagging of Carney, Lizzie May, the media, UN, and various fools the world over ages like week old fish. Iran is already begging for scraps.

    1. Yeah, they are going to screw it up because they are perfidious retards.

Then, they are going to get bombed some more. After more spanking, they are going to be offered a less generous deal.

      1. “Then, they are going to get bombed some more. After more spanking, they are going to be offered a less generous deal.”

Agreed. They made a deal with Donald Trump, but not with Benjamin Netanyahu.

I actually hope Israel continues to pound the IRGC into oblivion. It’s the only thing that might encourage the regular Iranian Army to support the people and overthrow the Mad Mullahs.

    2. That could be a sign of a few things……very poor communication within Iran or the “leadership” of Iran is fracturing.

  6. Iran is under the impression the US surrendered. Did Trump eff this one up after winning it? What exactly did Trump agree to? Other than giving Putin a back rub in the hot tub?

    1. He hasn’t agreed to anything yet…..other than a cease fire dependent on the opening of the Strait.

    2. “Iran is under the impression the US surrendered”

Well, that’s what they are telling the Iranian public, anyway. The government and the ruling class know better.

” Did Trump eff this one up after winning it? ”

I would never assume that. I might not agree with how he is going about this, but he always seems to have a plan.

I would prefer regime change, personally.

    3. Correction: Iran is trying to pull off the impression that my country surrendered; they are not so confident in that conclusion themselves.
Ah, and the old Putin’s puppet meme comes out! Never disappoint! (although if hostilities recommence you simply must promise to switch to ‘Bibi’s puppet’).

  7. Previews of Coming Attractions.
Iranian infrastructure will probably be vaporized tomorrow night.

  8. The word of the day is “Hudna” – a temporary truce to give the mohammedans to rest and rearm before the surprise attack to renew hostilities.

    1. The U.S. and the Mossad will be watching every move of the Iranians. They will be watching them trying to move assets or peaking out of their caves. Hudna works both ways.

      1. Pretty much; Israel took out a bunch of strategically important (to the IRGC) bridges right before the ceasefire was announced.

    2. and the acronyms of the day are: BDA and AAR…with a side order of SALUTE

  9. Wonder if anyone in trumps circle or the Iranian regime had shorted crude oil futures this morning. We are talking some serious cake being made.

  10. Any thoughts on the Nixon theory of madman leadership? Is that what Trump’s been doing here?

    1. “Any thoughts on the Nixon theory of madman leadership? Is that what Trump’s been doing here?”

It absolutely is, yes. No one seriously believed him when he said “A whole civilization will die tonight”.

(well, except for really REALLY stupid people, I suppose…)

Donald Trump has this tactic down to an art form, because you never really know what he will or won’t do, do you?

      1. May I suggest that Trump’s use of the word … “civilization” … is rather … loose. What he is actually doing is RESTORING Iranian civilization. A thriving, modern, educated, prosperous … healthy … civilization … prior to the retrograde 6th century apocalyptic Theocratic Islamic pile of shit that Iran has become over the last 47 years. Yeah … that retrograde “civilization” needs to end. Just as the immorally superstitious and murderous Aztec civilization needed to end.

    2. There’d need to be some grounds to think there’s madness involved, and there ain’t. Trump’s been entirely rational. The mullahs have only ever dealt with dolts and loons, and they can’t handle him.

    3. Madman Theory …

International relations scholars have been skeptical of madman theory as a strategy for success in coercive bargaining.Prominent “madmen”, such as Nixon, Nikita Khrushchev, Saddam Hussein, Donald Trump, and Muammar Gaddafi failed to win coercive disputes. One difficulty is making others believe you are genuinely a madman. Another difficulty is the inability of a madman to assure others that they will not be punished if they yield to a particular demand

By the ”International Relations Scholars” own definition… they need to take Trump’s (and Putin’s) names off their JOKE of a list. Because they have demonstrated the ABILITY … not inability … to punish the shit out of non-believers. And leave well-enough alone when their counterparts yield.

They mean what they say and say what they mean …

What a steaming pile of tripe.

  11. In the world my tiny brain inhabits, a 2 week cease fire means the Strait of Hormuz is now open. Also the USA can see if Iran is serious about stopping the war. If Iran breaks this cease fire by firing on ships in the Strait then Trump has the invite to really damage Iran as he warned.

    1. Exactly. Optics and politics. Iran surrounded power plants with women and children in religious garb … and deployed them on bridges. Hence, Trump’s Military hell and fury would have … looked bad.

So Trump has put the ball into Iran’s court. He didn’t fall for the head fake … and now Iran is on the clock to make good on their civilian moralizing.

  12. afaic a breach of the cease fire is expected. Trump already has a backup plan. what it is, suffice to say its thought out, integral to offering the cease fire and if severe enough involves lots of A-10s.

    1. To revisit a recent hurty circumstance that has some parallels: “The Canadian hockey team played the winning game but for the fact the score indicated that they lost!”
      This is rather similar.
And you’re all most welcome for bringing this up. I aim to serve!

    2. Johan … really? You’re falling for Iranian propaganda? There’s 0.000000% chance Trump would have agreed to a single ONE of those Iranian claimed 10 points of fantasy. Puhleeze … you’re smarter than that.

  13. My opinion, for what little it’s worth, the Immortal Guards (aka In Waiting Shah’s men) are being armed and they are rapidly taking over assorted parts of Iran an killing off IRGC men who haven’t defected. Trump is standing down to give them time to arm up and take over. Then he will act all surprised and say “Well the Iranians wanted regime change. So the Iranians did it themselves.”

“Never take Trump literally but always take him seriously.” Mahyad Tousi
