  1. In large cities where taxis are staffed with drivers newly arrived from “other” nations the traffic snarls would be sensational. There is a certain benefit in riding a horse who knows the way home from the bar.

  2. Out here in Hooterville things would trundle along as normal. Toronto might get spicy for a couple of weeks and then settle down as people have Necessity shoved in their faces good and hard by Reality.

    1. No. Hooterville would be in trouble. The cities would run out of food in a day or two, if you could even buy anything anyway, and then their denizens would be off to the country to find your garden or farm, and they would kill for food.

      1. That’s been a commonly expressed theory, but I’ve never seen it happen in real life? In Venezuela, when the shops stopped being stocked, people starved in place. The only time I recall the mass movement of people is when there’s state sanctioned violence, and even then, they don’t generally loot as they move. Even during the Great Leap Forward, people ate children rather than leave their home turf. Does anyone have an example of economic collapse leading to city people attacking farmers en masse?

  4. I was trying to understand how and why “the internet” needs to be shut-down when drones attack, so I read an article on the matter. It isn’t my ATT high speed WIRED fiber cabled internet that needs disconnection … it’s “Mobile internet” … pssst … it’s your infernal cell phones.

    TBH … I get through 23.95 hours of my day without my cell phone. Yeah, it drives some people insane that I don’t respond to their texts within SECONDS of receiving them … but I don’t live tethered to my phone. I do just fine without it. And yes, I have a collection of Thomas Bros. “book” maps for every major metropolitan area in the SF Bay Area.

    As for “earthquake preparedness” … I have a wood frame home, newly rebuilt to current (restrictive) structural codes (shear walls, and hold down anchors everywhere) and my gas meter is fitted with a VERY sensitive earthquake shut off valve. About the only other thing we need is a weeks water supply.

    I shouldn’t have too much trouble riding out the next drone strike coordinated and launched by Soros-funded operatives working to topple the USA
